- Loved this as a polished puzzle game!
- Not sure how "aberrant" it is, but if you used a better font for the hints or just included them in a "how to play" ui, tripled the level count, and put it on steam for 5 bucks... I would buy it and tell other people to do the same.
- Very awesome concept, very tactile. I think the pacing is a BIT rough and could do better in terms of teaching some intuitive, but this bangs. I kind wish there was a reset puzzle or like a pull feature tho. Awesome awesome job.
What do you like about your game?
I'm very happy with the puzzles I came up with!

Brilliant game! It feels extremely polished and it is my favorite in the jam now : ) . After close to an hour of gameplay Ive beaten every level except the top right one (I dont know the symbol) My only gripe with the game is the difficulty, Its a love hate relationship because if it werent so hard I would not fully appreciate the crazy mechanics that can arise out of the puzzle but some of it is down right infuriating. Some of them(like one I am stuck on could use a nerf or maybe some clues to point in the right direction.) After playing enough I realize the game is mostly about manipulating negative space in your favor to reach places you should not be able to reach and stuff like level B is a perfect example of what I mean. I want you to know that this is the game I spent the most time playing in the Jam! 10/10
Im creating a puzzle game myself and I want it to play like this one : )
Genuinely great. It feels very polished and the game design on show is incredibly mature for a jam game, I hope you expand it for a full game. The mechanic has serious legs!
although i wasn't able to beat level delta, i believe i have a firm enough grasp of this game to review it. everything here is simply amazing, the mechanics are well conveyed to the player and then just built upon perfectly. the only real critique is that the UI is lacking in shocking juxtaposition to the beautiful effects shown here. the thing that really brings it over the top for me though would have to be that there's an undo button, which is so incredibly useful. truly well done.
This has to be by far my favorite game in this game jam. The first time I used the folding mechanic, I was blown away by the effect, and I kept pressing space to watch it over and over again! There are so many effects I love and I wish I could access the Unity project to learn from it! The puzzles are also very well designed. I myself made a sokoban-style puzzle for the jam and I might take some inspiration from your game to improve mine :)
Amazing game. Well done!!
the game is masterfully done in every aspect i can't criticise anything, my respects. BTW there is this bug that makes the cubes "fall apart" when you move them if i explain myself correctly. At first i thought it was harmless but it displaces the gem too and leaves the board in a state that it was clearly not supposed to be in, The glitch allowed me to beat a level in an unintended way and had me restart another so you should check that out
Thanks for playing, I'm happy you enjoyed! I saw this bug happen once on someone else's machine, and I could never reproduce it. I was kind of baffled to be honest. Do you have any idea what you did to make this happen?
i swear i just moved the big block like you are supposed to and one or more pieces of it just stay there. Maybe it could have something to do with the undo mechanic i think i remember undoing before moving but i wouldn't be able to tell for sure
oooh it's such a good game! I love the puzzle mechanic, puzzle design and graphics, which may look simple, but they're so polished!
Puzzles are really well thought out, and the level of polish is so good! Those normal maps on the edges, tiny particles when hitting wall, and the screen shake haha
As a person who happened to design one or 2 puzzle games, I really like this work!
I unfortunately couldn't finish the game but this is one of the highest quality games I've seen in this jam. The graphics are amazing, the game feel and the sfx/music as well. The main mechanic is also not overshadowed and is made the core of the game which I really liked. I've definitely seen it somewhere else but here it's executed extremely well. The puzzles were also just the right amount of challenging.
Two things that I'd like improved: The UI, and a better font. Why have such a pretty game ruined by a mediocre UI? That's what I think anyways. Great entry.
Thanks for playing! Yeah.. I definitely agree with you about the UI. Admittedly, I put off doing the UI stuff until the last second and at that point I didn't have much time left. I think it shows lol.
Solid game. I only wish it were longer, but obviously that's not the priority in a game jam.
Nice puzzle game. Spent half an hour to complete it. I really liked level 4 as it made me think a lot.
Fun, very challenging. Wasn't able to beat it.
this is high quality one of the best
I feel guilty getting to play this for free
ohmeingott
Excellent game! Lovely visuals and a lot of mileage from a creative, easy to explain mechanic. Delta still has me stumped, I've had several "Ah ha!" moments, but still not finished.
Fantastic puzzle game, managed to solve all but 2 of the puzzles. Quite challenging! Very polished as well.
idk what to say, its just perfect, from level design to visuals :)
gg!
I wasn't part of the jam but I had to check it out since I had also made a space folding puzzle game and this didn't disappoint.
You move around the boxes and can fold anything between them. This limits the ability in a good way and the puzzles make you see each level in a new way.
The folding has the right amount of screenshake and is very satisfying. The jam was solo AFAIK and it's very impressive what you've managed to do in terms of visuals, audio and game feel. In particular the BGM was very relaxing.
I'd like to see different types of folding(ex: vertical). Also, since you have to move around boxes to make the circuits. I imagine it could be tedious to move stuff to make a long folding line. A way of bypassing that would be to have boxes that can connect regardless of distance(ex: boxes with the following property: if two boxes are in same row or column, they connect regardless of distance).
There have been a few other games utilizing space folding as a mechanic. If you plan on expanding this further you can look at them(or mine lol) for ideas.
Overall , great job!
Hi, thanks for playing. Glad you enjoyed it. I was originally going to have vertical folding too, just kind of started designing levels before my code supported it lol. Also that's a good thought about really long circuits, I'll definitely keep that in mind for when I eventually develop the game further (I would love to).
P.S. I tried out your game and it's quite fun! I love the way you show the limit of where you can compress (the darkening + soft shadows).
Thanks for playing. I totally understand. I also originally made compress(space) for a jam(LD54) and couldn't vertical folding and other cool stuff due to time constraints. I'd definitely like to play a more fleshed out version of yours.
The fold preview took some time to get right. People had complained that it was hard to know which parts were foldable before so it's good to know that it's currently working.
It's a fantastic entry! I'm glad I sticked to the game because it has very clever puzzles, although the difficulty curve is a bit high (would love a bit more early levels).
But the solutions to the puzzles are very satisfying and the game feels very good to play.
One very small nitpick is that the character feels very slow. Let me move faster ! There is a bit of a buffer when inputting that is a bit aggravating and would love for it to be faster or instant. Because on some levels like the last 2 it gets a bit boring to waddle around!
Otherwise perfect stuff !
Your game is so polished!! The SPLICE animation is so CHONKY, the SFX crisp, and I love the 3s .gif that communicates the main mechanic so clearly. I also admire that your puzzles were tightly constructed but forgiving about exact positioning and placement.
If you have the passion, energy, and time for it, definitely consider releasing a longer game – I know I and many of my puzzly friends would love it. There are so many interesting twists you could take and the puzzliness ceiling is so high!!
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it! I would love to develop this game further, I've got so many more ideas for it that I didn't have time for during the jam. It was so fun to work on too. I'll probably release a longer version sooner or later.
Very nice, I enjoyed my time and the puzzles were well-designed. I liked how immediately clear the "problem" of each level was for most of them. Wish Z would also undo (and arrows would also move), otherwise you're forced to use both hands when you really didn't have to. The folding effect is super cool. Good job!
Very much agreed on the controls thing. Also thanks for playing!
