How does your game represent Mode?
When we saw the theme was MODE our first thought was computers. Incorporating the different modes of a computer (Sleep, Power, Restart) as videogame mechanics became our primary objective throughout development.

Amazing presentation, everything meshes so well and oozes with charm and style! Though I did yearn for more gameplay with the farming. It didn't really incentivize micromanaging crops and time as I just use all my money to purchase the most expensive in batch and then just sit and wait. Then just pause time and sell it and repeat. I tried to do different crops at once and then harvested the earliest one, started time so the one still growing can still grow while I went to sell, but by the time I got to the shop, the crops I had on me spoiled ;(

very cute game, this game makes you feel like a megabyte, best part is league in the trash :´D

A fun little story with very impressive implementation

Loved the games art style and concept! the story elements were quirky and fun as well. Thoroughlyenjoyed playing it!

The story was funny, I liked the farming sim in a computer idea. The inventory kinda glitches if you have items on a diagonal

Good game!

Very nice, but I think there is a bug. I achieved freedom without buying the necessary parts, I pressed E the second time I went inside: my computer. In any case, very well done, fun and curious, nice work

Thank you so much for playing and for the report!  👍

I was able to reproduce your issue.  I didn't even think to test that! Wow!

This was a really neat game, I thought the music scores were great and the style felt really focused, especially for a 3 week project

This was great, one of my favorites so far! The world and aesthetics were super charming, I'd love to see this concept built up further some day! Using the arrow keys for the admin controls while using WASD to move tripped me up a few times, almost ruined  some of my expensive crops frantically trying to hit D to enter sleep mode instead of right arrow one time. Might just be something that takes getting used to though, because I'm not sure being unable to move while accessing the admin controls would necessarily feel better if they were tied to the same buttons.

Great work on this!

Woah! Easily one of the strongest entries in the jam, this game needs more attention. Absolutely loved the creativity of the world and concept - computers farming bits - and the comfy soundtrack and vibe.

Would love to see this expanded into some kind of paperclip-maximizer type game where you are running around trying to manage your out-of-control petabyte farming operation.

Had a great time downloading all of my lil files so I could escape. Very clever use of the theme and the implementation was awesome. It's gorgeous and sounds great. All of the windows having their own unique sounds were lovely. Great work.

Awesome job! I loved the unique music in each window - total bangers all around. Loved the fake internet, very creative all around and super well done!

So much fun, played it to the (almost) very end and enjoyed every second. The soundtrack was SO good-- brought me right in to the earthbound vibe and helped sell the already amazing visuals. Only complaint was I got hard stuck after x ing out the window after getting the "escape" option. Can I still say I won🥺. One of my favorites so far.

OMG no!!! I am so sorry! 🥺 🥺  We will have to look into that and adding some saves too so you don't lose progress. Thank you for playing up so far!! I can send you the ending if you'd like.

EDIT

I was able to repro your bug! On my end, the button turned invisible but I was still able to interact with it. Thanks again for your report.

Thanks so much for looking into it! I got my buddies to play and they told me all about the ending-- it sounds magical, I would love to see if you have a link :o

The art and audio on this is great, really capturing the odd, off-kilter tone of like Windows 3. Though I was really sold when I got to wear a hat.

wow, congratulations! lots of potential here! love the aesthetics of this game, very well done game jam game!

Super fun and novel aesthetic that isn't afraid to so something weird, I absolutely love the character designs for a bunch of janky little programs on a 90s computer. Kind of sad I couldn't pay back Kilobyte though, I did have more than enough. Seems like there were a lot of ideas in this one, I'll definitely be following these devs for what other projects they make together!

Favorite game so far, really engaging and fun concept. I was hooked from the start by the unique and polished graphics. Music was always on point too. Felt like this was made by a pro team. It's just the right playtime for game jam attention span, although I was expecting some kind of final boss after escaping xD

Normally not a fan of farming games, but the setting you built here is really neat!Kept me engaged until the end. Wish there was more to unravel so I could see what other concepts you could tie into this world. Nice work!

FREEDOM! I really liked this. The music and sound effects, the mysterious vibe. I enjoyed the story, it kept me playing even after I made a huge bet with investing on a bunch of seeds and i ended up losing them all and had to start from a tiny amount of bits all over again. I just had to keep going to see what happened at the end! Great work keeping me engaged!

Wonderful job! The game a very complete and enjoyable experience and very impressive for two weeks! Using the inventory in some situations was a bit tedious but that really didn't effect my enjoyment of the game at all! Nice job!

Wow. I mean, just wow. This could definitely be expanded into a full game, its got so much potential, and its very fun. The presentation is amazing, use of the theme is cool, the farming mechanics are very fun and there's a lot of room for fun time management puzzles with the clock ability. If i had to give one complaint its that actually planting the crops right now is a bit tedious as you have to more and open your inventory again for each one. Overall though, a wonderful game.
