Love to see a godot puzzler like this in a jam! Nice and simple, but definitely room to grow it a lot. The narrative bit was a nice addition. idk if I was supposed to draw 3 big moe's on the last round but I bulldozed my dude there lol. Lots of potential here, really good fun!

I think drawing cards should be automatic, but everything else about this is awesome!

Developer

thanks, that's a good idea

I got Big Moe'd.. Can't even be mad. Lots of potential for this game, reminds me of Inscryption a little bit.

Developer

Thanks, that was a main inspiration for it. But hopefully it felt distinct enough to be its own thing. Thanks for playing!

Nice work! I'm always impressed with people who make card games, or similar games in the vein of genres. There's a lot of things to come up with between all the cards and the rules, the board, the designs and more. You nailed it on this, love that they're in a diner, love the way everything looks and the game was lots of fun. Great cards and modes, good work!

Developer

Thanks for all the praise, it was definitely a lot of work. I'm glad you liked it!

Nice looking game, but hard to grasp what I actually am doing, or maybe I'm just bad.

Nice work, I really like all the arts/assets here! I was a little confused about what I was meant to be doing at a lot of points, but I think there's a solid foundation here for an interesting card game

Submitted(+1)

Really nice solid groundwork there! I love the art style and mechanic, it needs polishing for sure. But it's very impressive already. I only can finish one round it seemed. It'd be nice to see a finished version of this game. I love board games.

I loved the presentation of this game! The units are cute and Big Moe has a lot to say! I ran into a bug in my first playthrough, where I couldn't play anymore and it was only Moes turn. It might have something to do with the fact that I tapped on his unit at some point and was able to move it.
Great game, I could see this being really fun with acquiring new cards and building different decks!

Developer

I’m glad you liked it. That’s an unfortunate bug that made it through, we just have to hope it’s rare enough to not ruin the game. Thanks for booting it up again, I think we’ll keep working on it after the holidays!

I love the presentation, everything has such a nice style! Also, designing a whole entire card game and making it a reality in such a short timeframe is amazing. My only gripe is that I didn't really understand how resources worked as I just rush to deal damage whenever I can.

Developer

thanks, it took a lot of time to code the mechanics. The artists are great, and I get your frustration with resources, the game could use more guidance

Submitted(+1)

The art is very beautiful! It has a very high level of detail! I found the mechanics a bit hard to understand; it's true I'm not a regular card player. However, the sound of the dialogue has distracted me quite a bit. I think a less repetitive sound or not restarting the flow of letters when clicking would be nice. Good job, and very lovely art!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for all the feedback, I'm glad you liked the art! The artists were really talented. I agree with the dialogue issue, I worked on that the last day and I wish I'd lowered the volume or minimized how much he talked. As it is now he never stops talking lol. Thanks for playing! Your game is very charming too, great work

Super charming aesthetic, and the dialogue was amusing. The strategy game was fun and I liked the idea of using HP to summon units. Need more Moe. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, the style of your game was really neat too, the controls were modern and felt great but the style was spot on for a dungeon crawler

Submitted(+1)

Fun card game, really liked the dialogue! Has potential to be a fun game to play against friends with some more polish and balancing (and multiplayer)!

Developer

Thanks, I appreciate that. Your game was a lot of fun too!

Submitted(+1)

i love card games and this one is charming and looks cool!

Submitted(+1)

really great presentation, a great artstyle, and a lot of potential to turn into a more complex card-based grid tower defense-ish hybrid!

The aesthetics of this game are fabulous! Big Moe is such a fun character and I liked his humor. Mode of '87 had me dead💀. I like that there was an integrated tutorial and it was not too difficult to get the hang of.  It would be nice to see a flamboyant animation when attacking so you have confirmation on those hits. Nice work!!

Developer

Thanks, I wrote it all on the last day of the jam lol. I feel like your game had a similar vibe in the writing. If it was a solo project, it's impressive you were able to tie together so many aspects: the writing, the sound, and the art style in time. Thanks for playing!

Wow!! That's insane! Super congrats on your game then!! I agree similar comedic styles haha. We were also working on dialogue last minute too🤣

I have no programming skills whatsoever. There were two of us. One programmer, one artist so unfortunately we had to borrow our music assets but everything else was done by us!

NP NP! Congrats again on your game!!! 😁😁

Cool theme and nice shader technology :D

The card selection animations were nice too. My squirrel shot my own pigeon (I clicked it intentionally, didn't realize there was friendly fire!).

Submitted(+1)

Sweet! Really creative thematic with the wholesome diner chef offering you a duel and everything being fastfood + urban critter themed. Presentation is amazing too

Developer

Thanks I'm glad you like the theme! Your game was a lot of fun too, the first mode switch carried momentum really well and the whole game was really neat

Submitted(+1)

This is cool, I like the presentation! I had a few times where the dialog from Moe seemed to get stuck, or I wasn't sure what the game wanted me to do. But I love the commentary from Moe on all the cards, it's cute!

Submitted

I love the aesthetics and the concept! 3D-card games are really cool. I think it would make the game flow better if you would draw a card automatically and return to side view when your turn starts. Also would be nice to see some attack effects or animations. Overall a really solid entry for the jam. Well done!

Developer(+1)

That's good feedback, thank you! Your game was really fun too, I liked the style and the switch up between modes.

Wow i love the shaders you used here! good job!

Developer

Thanks, I was scrambling to get the shader working in Godot right before the deadline so I'm glad you liked it! Your game was a lot of fun too
