How does your game represent "Power"?
Boot King is quite powerful, increasingly so. He collects money to grow his crown, increasing his potential jump power. The long you hold down the jump button, the more powerful his jump. This game also represents themes of power inspired by my own reflections on the world and the word over the last week or so.

well that was a lot of fun. i love the king's voice lines. its so satisfying to steal... i mean collect the money i deserve from the people.
The Rich get to eat their big salads while we're stuck building their golden guillotines. We truly live in a society smh.

Nice game! Silly and fun, the art is nice and I really enjoy all the delightful chuckles with every conceited hop!
I thought I'd play only once but when I saw the leaderboard, I had to get the high score. I didn't in the end but it was pretty fun to try to come up with a strategy of making money faster. The end jump is a bit unfair as no matter the power you've got, it's really hard to do a vertical jump and bouncing off walls slows you down a lot and doesn't let you land at the top platform.

I seem to be soft locked at the beginning- can't jump high enough to get more than 2 bills

was really confused at first because i got the bug on browser, but i swapped to mobile and it worked fine, wouldnt let me submit my score though, but was really fun!
I had the same issue of not being able to jump very high. I pulled out my Mac with a higher resolution, and the viewport scaled large enough to where I could jump. I had the same issue with my game. That the viewport would scale differently. It probably has to do with how Godot handles exporting to web, even though you can set a resolution during export and on Itch. Unsure of a fix around that though :/. But it was a great concept! Also bonus points because both of our games have King in the name! :)
On my PC, In my browser I couldn't really jump very high, but on mobile it worked nicely. Funny concept, good job!
I was using Opera when I posted. I tried Opera GX and Chrome as well and had the same problems, though I managed to get out of the bottom in GX, but only after messing around for a bit in full-screen. If I had to guess the problem, its a combination of the viewport being too small to get a large enough of a force vector as well as the amount of cash that appears and is reachable from a 2 foot crown.
That's super helpful, thank you! I suspect it has something to do with the calculation for jump strength taking mouse to player distance into account, which could totally interact with what you're suggesting. On most displays the game should be designed in a way that you can always reach (or spawn) money from the bottom and reach that lowest platforms by 3 crowns. But I've seen what I think you experienced where the jump height just never goes above a tiny hop at the start. Anyway, thank you for the information and the feedback, and for playing our game!
I can't seem to make any jumps higher than the starting screen :(
