I thought that when i died it would be the same loop, and then the power ratings changed of all the enemies and i had to go a different route. this was wonderful.

How does your game represent "Power"?
"No one man (donkey) should have all that power."
King Donkey has all the Power and rules his kingdom with an iron fist! The Player has to gain Power by consuming others, but once he gains enough Power to defeat the King, will he be willing to relinquish that Power for the benefit of everyone else?
Every enemy has a Power Level bar above their head, and you can only defeat enemies with lower Power than you. So Power is absolutely central to the game.

The ending had me chuckling. Great concept. The sprites are really cool, and the slide mechanic feels really good. The charge jump mechanic was difficult to figure out at first but I did eventually get it. But why not make both jump styles the same button? Great concept, I would like to see more ways to add challenge. Good job!
Thanks! Yeah I'd love to add more maps, maybe more enemy types.
I initially had the Super Jump and the Regular Jump on the same button, but the only way I could get that to work was to jump when you release the button. That worked well for the Super Jump, but felt really bad for the Regular Jump. If they are separate buttons, then I can do the Regular Jump on initial button press, instead of button release.
I'm a sucker for the NES style! Super clean game with a unique concept. Reminds me of those goofy "mafia boss" ads I used to see with the power level lol. Nice job!
loved the nes looks of the game, its really cool, and i thing that this game captured the power theme a lot, i think this game deserves to be streamed
Cool creative take on the theme and it blends really well into the platformer genre, adding a bunch of little micro-puzzles to optimize the route. I definitely developed some personal "danger areas" (looking at you ground middle column) which made it so much more satisfying once I was able to devour those donkeys. Animation on the eating is perfect too, right balance of comical and visceral. Great way to stick the landing at the end too.
I know it's a jam game and the controls were pretty good all around, but there could be some little polishing tweaks. I've found this article super useful when it comes to platformers and the idea of coyote time could have made a few jumps more forgiving.
Okay honestly going in to this I was worried that I wasn't going to enjoy it because I'm not a big fan of NES style games of this genre. My god. This was amazing. The pixel art, animations, music, story are all so charming. The controls are also very tight, I felt like if I messed up it was completely on me. Game is very addicting. Huge fan!
you couldve told me this was an NES classic and i wouldve believed you... great theme and addicting gameplay... GREAT WORK!
Very nice and simple game. I love the retro style in both the presentation and the gameplay! It very much feels like the kind of game you would find someone playing on an old CRT monitor. Great job!
A nice and small game. It took me a bit to figure out how I was supposed to gain larger amounts of power since I started by farming lower power donkeys, but figured it out before too long. The usage of the superjump by the other donkeys is a nice reminder to the player that it exists (provided they read the controls of course).
I like this game! A fun addicting small loop. I also appreciate the accessibility stuff with a one handed mode. I was having a good lil time with it, appreciating the sprites, but then that ending really got me lol, very good way to wrap it all full circle with a nice lil twist. Good game!
This is like if mobile games were real.
Very fun, love the sprite work!
pretty dang fun. i enjoy voring the inferior donkeys. didnt figure out the high jump right away but other than that, very nice fun experience.
What a twist :D
Lemming-esque graphics with the game-mechanic from hose weird ads, niceley done!
Very simple to grasp concept, very satisfying gameplay. SFX would've elevated the experience, but it was just fine without em' to be honest. The art/animations are very charming, and the player feels tight to control. Although the actual controls themselves are a bit unruly at first.
Loved this!
