How does your game represent "Power"?
You play as a robot that uses limited power to move. When your power runs out, you can no longer move or act. You also have a dash which you can charge to increase it's power.

We love the concept! Having the battery tied to all the mechanics is really fun

Thanks for playing!

Really fun puzzle game! I'd add a feature to auto restart the level when the cool bot guy leaves the screen but overall, pretty rad! Also a soundtrack or some ambiance would go a long way. Great work!

Really fun platformer! I love your sound design and the gameplay mechanic around limited movement. Relaxing game. Nice work!

Fun idea, some of the levels were quite challenging (the one where I had to constantly recharge after each long jump I probably spent 10 minutes on). Recharging faster definitely would've been nice.

Developer

Thanks for playing! That is a common criticism I've seen with this game that I agree with. My intention was to discouraging overcharging, so the player tries to solve the puzzles while charging as little as possible, but still allow them to charge as much as they feel they need to. But I could have made it charge faster while accomplishing the same goals.

That was a good depth of mechanics! I liked how far you could stretch them in the levels.

Simple & fun, nicely done!  I enjoyed launching myself w/ the dash ability & getting the hang of how far I'd fly at different charge levels.

I do wish everything were tuned just a little bit faster, esp. the recharge batteries.  Waiting for a recharge, especially at the beginning of a level, just kills my momentum.

Nice work - thanks for making this!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I do agree the battery charge needs to be quicker. My intention was to discourage overcharging, but I could have done that while making the charge quicker for those who wanted a higher power. Glad you enjoyed the game!

Oh wow, one of the rare games where its very clear what to do from start! Gameplay flows nicely, and some levels make you think well - mechanics are clear, just need to figure out ways to use them. Very well designed.

Though feels a bit strange to wait for power to charge when I could have had it from the start - batteries in the middle of the level are fine, but the starting ones don't feel as good.

Great game regardless, thank you for making it, really enjoyed speedrunning through the levels!

Developer

Thanks for playing! The idea of batteries at the start is to make the level easier if you find yourself struggling with the power given. It's possible to beat all but 2 levels without touching the first battery, but this could have been made clearer. Glad you enjoyed trying to go as fast as possible!

Cute little roomba! I like the sounds it make when you dash.

Some levels work really well the battery and dash mechanic. Like the one where you dash just enough to make it to another platform, really clever. Some other levels are really punishing, I don’t really get how to finish it.

Some critic, I think the end game screen should be selectable with keyboard. I’m not sure but it seems like I have to use my cursor every time which really annoying I have to play the game using my left hand.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Overall I'm happy with how every level turned out but a few I would redesign due to being too punishing like you've said. I'll also note to make the UI selectable with the keyboard for the future.

pretty good entry, cool angle of taking the theme. I think there is potential in the whole managing your power via platforming idea, and it seems like you tapped a good bit of it here! good work.

Great use of the theme with the limited power mechanic, it really added a lot more depth to the level design and was so satisfying figuring out all of the platforming puzzles. A lovely game :)

Wow! nice, you made a lot of mechanics in such a short time :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm proud that I was able to make everything I planned on making, but I would say I only made 5 mechanics (battery, dash, conveyor belt, magnet, and moving platforms) which doesn't feel like a lot. It's the combination of mechanics that I think makes it feel like there are a lot of new ideas.

I always enjoy level based games like this, where its like puzzle/platforming/getting to a goal. fun enjoyable game.

Well polished game. Everything seemed to work really well.  I didn't figure out you could interact with things until the magnets. It made the treadmill levels really hard! Had to get clever with my boosts.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I should have made the level introducing the interactions impossible to beat without it in hindsight, I'm curious as to how you beat the treadmill levels without it.

This very enjoyable!

I like how the levels are nice and short and not drawn out. One of the few puzzle games this jam I bothered to finish

Developer

Thanks for playing and beating it! How was the second to last level? :)

Submitted

I was a bit trolled, but at least I got to get 3 stars on a level lol

Developer(+1)

:).

Actually I definitely made getting 3 stars way too hard. The idea was that each level typically had multiple ways to beat it, but only one way to get 3 stars with it sometimes being near frame perfect. An example is with the conveyor belt levels, you can just change the direction and do nothing else to beat the level, or you can move with the platforms to increase your speed and get to the goal quicker. But I could have made it more forgiving.

This was actually a really fun puzzle game.  There were lots of interesting and varied mechanics.  You nailed the theme really well.  Your level designs are great.

Some recommendations:

 - The game should automatically reset when you fall too far down.

 - It's lacking music.  The background ambient sounds are ok, but they're not a real substitute.

 - You should look into using free art assets.  Or perhaps, team up with an artist.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I agree with all your recommendations, I wanted to do something solo just to see but next time I might team up to cover where I'm lacking.

Nice puzzle! I liked that many levels can be completed in more than one way. Is that intentional?

Also - is that a vacuum cleaner robot? :) Looks cute

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah some levels are designed with multiple ways to beat it, though there is typically only one way to get 3 stars. And the robot is based on an old FRC robotics robot.
