Wow super unique mechanic, I've never played another game quite like it. I thought it was difficult, but that's probably because it's very new to me. I can see a world where someone sinks a bunch of time and gets really good at the mechanic to speedrun - that would be fun to see! Thought the levels were designed well and the cutscenes and presentation in general had heart to them. Would love to see this expanded further :)

How does your game represent "Power"?
The player character needs to get more powerful to overcome obstacles and climb high to reach the end of each level. There is a literal "Power" meter that fills when you collect protein shakes and the end goal is for Cliff to retrieve all his golden dumbbells - y'know, a thing that when used increases a person's power.

fun mechanic and lovely intro and style - great job! cool game! :)
Very interesting climbing mechanics! I think you have some cool potential there!
I like the idea of the core climb mechanic, but it was a bit frustrating that I had to rotate to keep it in place - or was it possible, and I just missed it? But basically - why can't I just hang and need to rotate all the time? This can be easily solved, though, for example - by making a separate button for gripping.
Anyways, with a lot of polish, it definitely can turn into a cool unique game. Good job!
Thanks for playing! For the controls I took inspiration from DK Jungle Climber for the DS, which controlled in mostly the same way. During development I had a version where there was a "move forward" button and pressing each hand button would turn the character that way, but it felt clunky. As someone who is acclimated to this gameplay style already (biased, I know) I think introducing more buttons would harm the game feel (again, at least for me, which is why I didn't change it.) But I totally get where you're coming from, I'll try to keep beginners in mind when making control schemes next time. Thank you for the feedback!
Cool entry! I found the opening cutscene really fun. This is an interesting game mechanically, not 100% sure if you intended this but you have the formula for a very funny Getting Over It or Jump King esque rage game, cause this was frustrating in a very funny way. Overall I think with some more polish this could become something very funny but also satisfying to master! Good entry!
What a great concept! You have managed to create a complex and challenging game with relatively simple controls to understand although difficult to execute. The opening animation was hilarious too haha. I got pretty far but somehow managed to get my key locked behind some girders I had pressed the button to open already and gave up. Great work, no matter how much I managed to screw myself!
The idea is fun, and the puzzle part of figuring out how to reach things was probably the most satisfying. The player floor movement and jump felt a little too loose in my opinion and you even made cutscene! Nice and ambitious! Overall good job!
Fantastic concept. Loved the mechanics. The keys are insanely difficult though. Picking the keys up as an inventory could have worked well. Definitely worth continuing development on!
The climbing gameplay is very cool. I feel like having the same controls for holding on and moving left and right while in "platformer mode" doesn't really work and would have loved if the game was just focused on climbing.
The intro was awesome as well!
Pretty innovative controls! Once I got used to them it was fun to swing around like I'd been doin it all my life. I adore the aesthetic, really takes me back to the early days of flash games / animation :)
the opening cutscene is so sick, I really love the animation! the mechanics are also super interesting, a little finnicky to get the hang of tho - overall great job!
Damn, an opening cutscene in a jam game, that's crazy impressive!
Game was interesting, but I couldn't figure out rock throwing at all, unfortunately, so I didn't beat it. :/
Sorry about that mechanic, it's not very intuitive. The idea is to place the first hand near the pile (either left or right hand is fine, as long as the other hand makes contact with the pile during the rotation), and when the second hand is over the pile, press the button to grip with the second hand. Release the button for the second hand to throw the rock.
I liked the cutscenes, :) The Game got hard extremely fast and a bit frustrating. But definitely a good and memorable game!
Very fun and creative take on the theme as well as a great game! Gameplay was difficult but very rewarding once you manage to clear a section of a level or get that last climb XD
