How does your game represent "Power"?
The player character needs to get more powerful to overcome obstacles and climb high to reach the end of each level. There is a literal "Power" meter that fills when you collect protein shakes and the end goal is for Cliff to retrieve all his golden dumbbells - y'know, a thing that when used increases a person's power.

Love the art and the theme. I struggled a little with the controls, but great job on doing some unique movement! Could be really great with some more polish.

Quack
The cutscene was sick, serious animation skills!

I just wonder how this game exectly fits the theme...

Developer

My thinking was powerful guy (strong) looking to get more powerful (finding his gym equipment), and there's a power meter that fills and lets you do bigger jumps

I believe this was made for the GMTK jam in 2024, and the theme doesn't fit very well, but aside from that... it's fun! Lots of levels and pretty unique gameplay.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Also I very much made this for Big Mode jam 2025, didn't start on it until Jan 25th this year.  I did submit a game for GMTK 2024 but this wasn't it. I came up with the idea after the "power" theme was revealed and thought about something a physically powerful person might do, and came up with a bodybuilder looking for his gym equipment who can climb.

If it was made for Big Mode, well done! The gameplay was a lot of fun and was one of the few games I spent extra time trying to complete. I still think the theme could fit a little better, but a lot of people went down the "powerful" route, so that's perfectly fine. Good job on the level design!

Thanks, I appreciate the extended play time :)

Very funny game. I'm not great at these kind of games so I couldn't get past
the level where you have to throw a rock on the switch haha.
loved the humour, art style and music.
I've played quite a bit of anton blast. I noticed the jawdrop in the intro, don't worry.
All I would say is polish the controls a bit. Good work!

Developer

Haha yeah Antonblast is great. Thanks for playing!

The mechanics were incredibly enjoyable!

The art is so cool! And the climbing mechanics feel like something out of QWOP but in a very fun and fluid way! Maybe I'm just saying it because I suck at both LOL. Great job!

The animation is great! And the controls feel very intuitive!

I was impressed by the staggering amount of work that went into this game, from intro and ending cutscenes to very fluid animations and well thought out levels, I had a big smile on my face playing this game! Unfortunately, I suck a bit too much and I couldn't make it past the fifth level in the caves, but I still had fun nonetheless and I also appreciate that all levels were available from the start so I could see what I was missing. Great work!

The drawings made me laugh a lot, I found absurd the gameplay and I couldn't get very far, it still entertained me! The physics is weird, it feels like being on the moon, the climbing is incredible xD insane

Such a great game! I love the art-style, it's so goofy

Love the climbing mechanic, took some time to get control of it

Love the art and the goofy gameplay!

Came for the cutscene, stayed for the GIRP-esque controls. Will our hero get all his golden dumbbells back? Not if I'm in control, although I felt myself improving the more I played, and it was easy to pick up and play despite the novel control scheme - great job!

love the control scheme! very fun

Super cool! Cutscenes? In this timeframe? Very well done, even if the audio was a bit de-synced on those cutscene. It's challenging for sure, and the smooth animations were funny as well in the context of the art. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The desynced audio is an unfortunate consequence of mixing WebGL and Unity, oh well. But yeah I locked in hard and did the entire opening cutscene in a five hour sprint lol.

Great work! The climbing was intuitive. One thing that bothered me was that I was having a hard time managing my air control while climging because air control and climing are the same buttons. This is great for simplicity but if you ever add to this, having advanced buttons that only do one or the other might make it more fluid for people who want to put the time in and do some speedruns or something. Cool game!!!

fun concept, really loved the presentation and the opening cutscene haha. i wasn't able to figure out how to pick up rocks to throw at the red switch, and then i also wasn't able to pick up the green key in the next level. but i really loved this idea, great job.

Great work! The climbing mechanic is easy to understand but definitely has a high skill cap (reminds me of jump king jump for some reason). Adding the keys and throwables added a nice bump of complexity.

That intro was pure cinema.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked the intro, I have been playing a lot of Antonblast and I wanted to emulate that cartoony feel

Liked the intro cutscene and loved the movement and the gameplay in general. Very rewarding to get better at the climbing. My favorite level was the dark one where you had to climb very high to become purple. A few levels after that there was the level where the blue ladder rises up and blocks you from getting to the goal which annoyed me, unless I misunderstood something. I restarted the level but then again I got stuck inside a green cage or something. I think the levels could have been designed in a way that the player never has to press the restart button but instead find clever ways to climb out of any situation. Very fun game though, I could see a game with movement like this being the next big rage platformer.

Developer(+1)

Yeah sorry about level 12, definitely my least favorite and needed a lot of tweaking. My "design concept" for the blue ladder is that you can stand on top of it and there's just enough time to do so before it rises up, bringing you right to end. If you don't reach power level 3, you can still beat the level but you have to do extra climbing.  Looking back that wasn't obvious I'm afraid. Glad you liked it overall though, thanks for playing!

The climbing was very difficult but satisfying to master. You can schmove in this game
