Good game! I like the Visuals & Music style. One issue is you constantly have to hold sprint. The sprint should be the base movement speed, similar to Doom.

Many people write about this, we will fix it in the next update) Thank you very much for your feedback)

Reminds me of dusk, fun game.

Thanks for your feedback)

The visual are nice, I like how the environment looks with the bosses. The gameplay are interesting too, and the control feel really good, tho it took me a while to realize that I shift is sprint and not dash xd. And music are nice.

The game is really challenging, tho the bosses feel a bit too fast as they are basically the same speed as you sprinting while continually dashing.

But still, cool game!

Good game, nice fast pace which makes it well challenging.

Thank you for your feedback, boss rush is exactly what it should be like)

The shooting and movement felt really good! I beat three bosses as well, those mini ymirs are pretty persistent lol so I died on the 4th battle, those tag-teaming MFs haha

Developer

hahah Ymir have a good friend. Thanks for feedback

Good FPS soul, but that first boss is too early for anyone not familiar with the game.

maybe a slower and easier boss first might fix this issue.

Cool game, first boss wrecked me until I saw that I could dash up and out of the way, maybe a small tutorial would have been nice, but I had fun! Thanks for making this!

Thank you!

Amazing game.  I killed 3 bosses and went out after seeing 2 bosses in the same time. If I were have more time I  would try to kill them. Great work for only one month. Congratulations!

The fact that there is also an elaborated menu with controls and settings makes me happy. I think It's important!

I really like the design of the battle system. In fact you can beat the game without getting any damage. The key to it is stay focused all the time. Bosses cannot hit you unless you bump into obstacle. I think It's the reason why there are obstacles on the arena but I may be wrong. System design is great!

I've met bug when third boss is AFK, I don't know the reason. May be he's afraid of me 😎.

Thanks for such a feedback. The third boss saw how you treated Ymir and decided not to resist

People say that ymir (the first boss) are so hard, dash doesnt work and other things like that. So we decided to make video to show you HOW SIMPLE the first boss and how you can use dash to dodje this boss

Very fun game! it did take me a while to figure out the controls, but once I did I quickly developed a strategy to use all the mechanics together and beat the bosses. But once they started calling their friends, it got difficult again, very good balancing there. The guns didn't feel as balanced, since having more range is very op, the shotguns weren't as viable. Either way, realy cohesive artstyle! loved the crunch on everything and the visual design on the bosses were really awesome.

Developer

Thanks for feedback. Thank you for the very nice words

It seems to be the first boss is the most difficult but I I could not verifying this by myself. I tried many tactics to beat it but the very low FPS and the very hight mouse sensivity made me give up. Otherwise, art and atmosphere was really good  and the Quake vibe is a pretty touch.

Developer (2 edits)

if you click ESCAPE you can see the settings when you can change your sensivity. Please can you try again. Thanks for feedback.

Oh ok my bad, I did'nt notice that. I will try again.

Very punishing difficulty.

First boss usually starts with it's projectile volley that's close to impossible to dodge. And even when you do, he's most probably already in your face, and trying to make yours look like his.

I tried circle strafing the arena, but got caught in all the littered bosses, and there is no window for error there, so I got my health slowly chipped away.

The I tried the same tactic, but only looking back to shoot, and generally looking forward and dodging the obstacles. That also didn't work. Got chipped down by the projectile attacks and every time I looked back, he was a different distance away from me, sometimes the other end of the arena, at others, right in my face.

The controls are fine, although dashing with the E key is not really comfortable, since I could use my pinky finger to tap shift or control, but with E I need to lift my index finger from D.

I like the visuals that your going for, and the game seems interesting, but I bounced off pretty quick because of the unforgiving difficulty.

The game is very fun. This game was very fun. The first boss however was too hard while the ones afterwards were much easier. Besides that, it is a really fun game.

Developer

The first boss moves and attacks faster than the player can dodge away from it, making it almost impossible to beat without cheesing.

Developer

thx for feedback

The first boss was definitely the hardest. The other bosses I cheesed by hiding behind a wall and shooting freely. I think the attack range wasn't intuitive until after I beat the first boss since the guns I can exchange with had an attack range. Overall fun but not for your average player.

thx for feedback

Beautiful concept of mixing dark souls with FPS. The fight against the boss is not fair, the boss is always running super fast towards your position, you have small gaps to attack, and if you have to run all the time to fight, it's better to increase the default speed.

Developer (1 edit)

We tried to make the game more difficult because we believe that a good boss is a boss who needs to be understood over time and after several attempts, because boss it's not the regular enemy that you kill by your first time. Our testers, to whom we gave our game, passed the first boss in 3-4 attempts.

This game is like dark souls of quake like games. The first boss is super hard, if he ran a little slower I think it could help ease players into the difficulty curve. Amazing visuals and enjoyed the boss character model a lot.

I wish I could get past the first boss but I'm terrible at FPS games so couldn't see the other bosses. However, I really like the artstyle, I love the PS1 looking vibe this game has. I had fun with the little I could see. If anything I would consider the running speed be the normal speed, as it has no stamina, and you basically have to hold the shift button down for 5 minutes until the boss is dead. Overall, nice work! Best of luck to you guys.

thanks for feedback. Really appreciate it

you can dash from the ground to jump over the boss and shoot him in the back.

I understand the frustration but have this in mind when creating games:

1. You created the game,  you know every single strategy, every single safe spot, safe frames, punishing time, time to dodge, time to attack. You know every weakness, every strength. You know how the game works and how you are supposed to fight, you also know the numbers behind everything that's happening.

2. You practiced the same boss, over and over throughout one month. Your skills are honed, you know it as well as the palm of your hand.

3. And even so, you still lost half of your health.

Now imagine someone that doesn't know the game, doesn't know the boss, have never fought it before, and is still to figure it out how to play. That boss is very, very difficult. During the making of a game you always need a second, third opinion. Send some early builds to friends, friends that are good at FPS, friends that are bad. I call it the programmer's curse. You will always find your game easy because you know how it works and you are so good at it. So basically. If it's challenging for you, it's basically impossible. If it's a walk in the park for you, it probably works. I can beat my own game very fast, without taking damage and with ease. But people still say it's very hard.

The game is good, has a solid foundation, but keep all of this in mind. If you intend to make a hardcore game, that is also fine. But remember this is a gamejam, and people have other 400 hundred entries to play. So if they get frustrated too fast, they might give up. So in this case, it's better to gather feedback and make an enjoyable experience for everyone. I had to make about three games to learn that. Anyway, I will give it another shot soon because I truly enjoyed the game and want to see more of it. I write all of this with the best of intentions. (:

PS: I'm really bad at FPS games. I beat Sekiro five times. I beat Bloodborne without leveling up and  even beat some crazy difficult whip'n'walk castlevania games like Rondo of Blood. But I'm just bad at FPS.

Thanks for your opinion, i dont want that this video is feels like smth rude or bad toxic. I just showed people how to kill, so they can try and do it like me and see more content. Really thanks man

Guys, write here how many bosses have you passed? ( Check game page for more information and some tips)

Just finished the game, the third boss was my favourite because of the way it forced me to change my strategy mid fight. At first i used a pillar to block the attacks but then the explosions forced me to keep moving for the rest of the fight. I loved the art style and music as well. If I had any advice it would be to maybe give the second boss an attack to punish the player for just running in circles. Overall it was really fun to play, well done!

Thank you for such a review, we appreciate it very much

Got past third boss with the metal thingy in the middle. I just ran in circles on the first boss and shot backward a few times when he did his projectile attack. I didn't even think to jump past him.
