I like the little differences in the interactions you can take with each boss. I think it would have been better if each BOSS had 2 more expressions for each card, currently the gameplay is a bit repetitive and even though it is a CUZ you can squeeze a little more.
Like it. Nice job!
gameplay in itself was rather lackluster but the experience was good. I feel like the game's strongest point is its atmosphere and storytelling, full of weirdness but approachable. The art lacked in cohesion but it kind of fit with the various weird rooms I guess. The use of different musics for each room was cool.
Very silly little game, not too difficult. I loved all the expressions!
Such fun game to play, and interesting hidden mechanics. Great animations as well.
Pixel art wasn't the best, sure, but I LOVE the attention to detail and length of this! The character turns to the opponent before the match, the transition screen <3, and dialogue is queued even if you rush... I can imagine a card game with the same spirit and more polished visuals.
The face thing made the game trivial, it was fun tho, art is very well made.
I figured out the face thing after reading the description and was a interesting experience. Art was pretty
Interesting game, took me a minute to figure out I needed to sit across the mushroom to start (It was in the description lol) I liked the interactions with the bosses and how you can read faces, the art and animations were nice, sometimes the animations were a little slow, but not that big a deal. Good Game!
3/5 Good Job!
This game was really funny, I got softlocked when I died at the alien level but it was thoroughly enjoyable swapping your different cards. My favorite one was definitely the robot one I think you should incorporate that kind of mechanic more into the fights instead of solely the RPS stuff. (or different flavors of it, like giving bosses certain card patterns)
Ah ! You are totally correct, seems there is no fail state text for that level which means you get stuck if you lose. Unfortunate for that to slip by and thanks for reporting. Appreciate that you enjoyed the game, each boss does have some for of point and click aspects to their level but we very much recognise that communicating that to the player was not great.
Yeah its fine regardless, I doubt anyone else got stuck on that. I really liked the animations. The art style alone made the game very memorable in this jam. I will probably come back and complete it today!
Haha very cute. I love the simplicity of RPS as the game's mechanics. Ultimately thats what most games are under the hood! Was there any tells on what card the bosses might play? I was trying to find patterns and I wasn't sure if I found some or was just crazy.
Thank you so much !
The cards that the bosses play are totally random, but each boss has a specific face for the card they intend to play, so if you recognise the faces you could predict their moves :D
OMG I suspected that, but I eventually discounted that because the first boss I played ONLY played rock. Thats awesome theres a tell.
I did not understand the world, but I liked how strange and surreal it was. The gameplay itself felt a bit too slow after going through it so many times, so I think shorter animations would help. Though the most important point was that the dragon was RIDICULOUSLY adorable!
Aww yess, the Dragon is little cutie! Also we appreciate the feedback <3 We did play around with some ideas that could shorten the fights towards the end of the jam but decided to focus on point and click progression and face prediction. The world is certainly varied and wacky, it all just formed around the style and gameplay ideas we had for the bosses :)
A game with a simple idea and an interesting implementation. It's full of funny surprises. Good job.
Thank you reckrut <3
Good implementation of rock-paper-scissors. I also liked the visual style and music. It’s very cool when you can interact with the environment during the game and see the boss’s reaction.
Glad you liked it BroSible, those kind of interactions were the funnest parts to make <3
This was one of the funniest games I played recently. I loved the interactions and reactions of the enemies. It is rock paper scissors, so gameplay isn't complex, but I like that each enemy does it's own reaction depending on what they are going to use. Those face were enough to made me laugh out loud so many times. I loved how the game looks.
Thank you so much! The faces got the artist very excited to make when the concept came up, really appreciate your kind words
Mushroom dance, mushroom dance, whatever could it mean. Really funny and enjoyable. Found myself losing purposfully just because there were faces i didn't see. And the game design is really well made, i felt good when i understood it wasn't random and there was paterns in the faces, and immedietly cyborg told me to shut. Well done ! I stopped at the cat, the game there starts to be a little bit repetitive, i wished there was more to the cards. But i do intend on finishing it!
Amazing, thank you so much for playing! Super happy that you noticed the faces correlated to the cards, if there was more time at the end it certainly would have been a priority to convey that better to the player. Think you got to the final boss before stopping funnily, glad you enjoyed it :))
Really charming game with a clever use of resources - well done!
<3 thank you !!!
This game is so weird. I love it
Well I love you Oldesk
Cute animations and concept! The dialogue was slick and plenty entertaining too. I almost wish that instead of the rope, fights were framed as best 2 of 3.
Thank so much Sensitive Snout :D
Best of 3 was certainly considered at one point, but we figured that the rope made the main card game and the point and click aspects gel a bit more. (Also we've been loving inscryption lately too haha)
