Game's take on the theme
Exchange the blood spilled by bosses as either a mid fight heal OR save it for later and exchange blood for upgrades. Upgrades are strong buffs / abilities, and the more blood that you bring with you the less punishing your upgrade is.

Waited to play your game the most! I enjoy this bloody-dirty artstyle, mechanics remind me of hollow knight.

 I would make player restart from the boss you died on, and not from the begining, but i think you wanted to make some sort of roguelike elements cuz upgrades changes every time.

Catched only one softlock bug, i believe with more time your game could've been even greater. SICK!

Simply amazing game. Classic platformer combat action.

Can't say anything about the art and audio, except that they're great. Sounds are a little bit lacking, and can sometimes cut out, but the bosses telegraph well visually, so that is a good-to-have not a need to, in this case.

I'd really love some kind of skip dialog feature, when I inevitably get my ass handed to me, or want to replay the game.

Loved the boss design, and had a blast fighting them, the final boss is a treat, once you get his pattern down.

The second boss - specifically his second phase - is a bit annoying, since it's really obvious where you have your windows of attack.

The purity system is a tad hard to get at the start, but is a very very VERY nice mechanic, that also functions as a player controlled difficulty, and brings longer term consequences to your actions.

A must play. 5/7

P.S.: I did what you asked, please don't send the Jersey Devil after me, I'm begging you

Really cool boss design, the animation looks very cool. The control feel very similar to hollow knight which is really nice. The boss are challenging but since the control feel really natural for me so its really fun.  The music are really nice too.

Tho it seem like when the blood is over 999 the game just freezed, and according to the blood count on the last boss, I assume you didn't expected it to go over 999? It makes the bloods increase related upgrade cannot be choose. Also, you need to restart from the beginning which is a bit annoying but its manageable. One more thing, is the last boss inspired by NKG from hollow knight? The boss attack pattern is very similar to it which is really cool since that was one of my favorite bosses to me. It kinda makes it pretty easy to dodge after realizing that.

Anyways, very cool and polished game!

he is! im glad you noticed it we were a bit on the nose with the teleporting and such unfortunately we couldn't make him crazy punishing as it was already difficult for some people. Unfortunately, there is a bug when having too much blood, not sure why, will have to fix it in post jam!

Controls arent the most intuitive for me (you could have swapped J/K for Left click/right click), and gamepad control would have been fire !
Either way, nothing much to say, its bloody gorgeous !

Tried it a cople of times yesterday and today, couldnt get pass the cave boss, I think the controls are quite responsive, the bosses have a great telegraphy timing and the blood channeling mechanic with unique upgrades interacting with it is very creative, the art is also incredible, specially the second boss fading in/out  the background and the main menu 10/10. Extremely polished game besides a few bugs, good job!

I had a really fun experience playing this game, the art is gorgeous, good job! only caveat is i had a crash or softlocked everytime i tried to play, awesome game though i had a lot of fun :3
I softlocked by slashing while entering a blood portal, and softlocked with the flying fly boss that spits goo, it for some reason flew into the ceiling and left lol <3

This game was awesome, from art to gameplay to music pretty cool!
However, at the 2nd phase of the worm that curls up and kick on the walls, when it get wings. At some point in the fight it dug a tunnel on the roof and it just didn't come out. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do anything or is it a bug. I waited a minute and then quit. I really wanted to continue, it was giving me the chills. Love this entry though, will replay it sometime to see if I missed anything. Consider checking out our entry, it's very similar to this one (:

Amazing art, amazing boss design, stupidly fun and some of the music sounds AMAZING. Outside of some glitches and restarting from start can be annoying, this is AWESOME. The desing and thought put into it could make a banger full game. GREAT WORK!

Cool take on the theme! Love the art and audio, the controls are disorienting at first but it's very refreshing, for me at least, to not be using the mouse for once

The bosses are very well designed, and the mechanics are really interesting -- even once you know the bosses, it's still a blast to fight them again. 

Some might find it difficult to get a handle on the controls at the beginning, but overall I had an absolute blast.

I absolutely loved the game! The art was gorgeous, and the music added a fantastic touch. The theme implementation, especially with exchanging blood from bosses for buffs, was a neat and creative addition. The bosses provided a good balance of challenge without being too difficult. Overall, it was a delightful experience! Good job!

Solid game all around. I made it till the patron's fight, but died instantly lol

This game definitely needed a save system because it was definitely a little annoying having to restart from the beginning when you died. ( Though it is technically a rogue-lite so I guess there's that )

The art and audio was beautifully demented. I especially loved the animations on that 3rd insect boss lol. It was disgusting in all the right ways. Painting the levels red never got old

Every boss was designed damn well and had good telegraphs for their attacks ( Though I think the patron's attacks could have been telegraphed better since I couldn't really tell the difference between his charge and the ground tendril attack )

However, I feel like the player really could have benefitted from a horizontal dash of some sort, or just another mobility option in general. For as nimble as the bosses were, the player really felt a little stiff sometimes in comparison ( This wasn't really too big a problem though now that I think about it )

The implementation of the theme is great though. Having to strategise between using blood now or later was great. Awesome entry overall

A really great experience. I really love the art direction for this game, the sprites, effects, music & sound design are all impeccable, the boss designs are great, unique and creative but some of the attacks can be a bit too difficult and sometimes kinda unfair sometimes; The controls are quite finicky, I didn't like it them at first (and I still kinda don't) but they are easy to get used to; This game is really juicy, like, how tf did you do the blood effect lol, imma become a vampire after playing this; The game does have some bugs, some more noticeable than others and unfortunately I wasn't able to beat the game due to one of them that crashes the game after you beat the third boss on Linux (I'd like to make it very clear that it seems that it only happens on Linux via Wine).
