I really like the art, but I think the boss fight never started, I couldn't do anything, I could get below the boss's legs and get hurt on purpose, but that's it, what am I missing? I tried rotating the character and the mouse while holding the LMB
Wow, the graphics look stunning and kind of creep me out, but gosh they look really good. How were they made? Loved the music and thought that the take on spin was quite nice! Love seeing other Godot users! Maybe if you have the time you can check out my game as well!
The game feels fun to play and the graphics are really cool! The music is really fitting with its theme as well! I did find it quite challenging but that might just be me. Overall, really great job with this submission!
(PS: If you're willing to I'd love it if you can rate and leave some feedback on my game! This is my first ever jam and I'd love to see where I can improve for the future!)
I like the visuals, so beautifully made, I think its pre-rendered, right? quite cool, also the game mechanics feel right, and the overal game ambient feels nice, I rate graphics, control, fun and music on top, all is really nice, also, if you have some time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!
The design is quite interesting, but I found it hard to keep turning the crank throughout the level (perhaps a hitbox issue) :x
I admit I wasn’t expecting this kind of atmosphere for this jam :o
Well done!
I really love the style of the game. It's very cool, and the music and art design work in perfect harmony to enhance the atmosphere of the game.
An interesting title but the spinning. I'm not really sure about this. It's kind of troublesome to continue spinning and I guess it may need more polishing . But overall an interesting boss and game.
The premise of using a drill to deal damage is interesting, but as others have mentioned, the controls need a revamp. Having to spin the mouse and move the player in circles feels clunky, and some sort of feedback would definitely help. I like how it's not just a spamming game though, with players having to watch their fuel level and paying attention to the breathing. This has the potential to be a very fun game, so please continue working on it! Best of luck!
The art style is super cool and I really like the world you've built!
However, the gameplay itself is definitely lacking in comparison. I did not understand why I wasn't drilling the rock until I saw in your gifs that you were also moving the character in circles together with the handle to actually do any drilling. I also realized that you don't even need to spin your character and just spam opposite directions (eg. Left and Right) to speed run through the game. The game also lacks a lot of feedback for the player other than the slight screen shake from a successful drill and the heavy breathing on the player when they are low health. If you are not planning on providing any in-game tutorial for the player and want to make them discover the mechanics themselves, the controls should be intuitive enough for them to do so.
Other than the gameplay, I really enjoyed the world and atmosphere that you've built!
I love the artwork. this game has a great style.
as apposed to most people (I assume), I like the obtuse nature of the controls, but wish the spin handle was easier to grab.
I also feel that taking damage could be more understood. I didn't even know I had health till I died.
We didn't have time to add a health indicator, so we added breathing to show when the character has low HP.
Of course, that’s no excuse—I understand that it turned out poorly.
I think you are being a bit hard on yourself, as I think the game turned out good.
My comment might have been more negative than I intended, as I really like the drill concept of the game.
I had a lot of fun with managing my fuel and maneuvering around to attack the boss.
Cool ideas, but the controls hold it back i feel!
This is the first I've ever experienced an uncanny valley effect due to this head. I don't know why but it is really creepy. But the game is really well made. Controls are convenient and intuitive. Boss fight is not just hit and run. Game has a great potential.
Thanks
The controls aren’t intuitive—without a video, it’s hard to understand what to do. There’s no variety in the bosses. The drill handle spins poorly. And it lacks sound effects. The developers should have gone to work in construction instead of making games.
What a lovely strange game ! I'm 100% in with the vibe, also like the theme. I would love more bosses and also the spinmouse recognization is not working good, you could polish this part for making the game less confusing at the beginning. But nice job you did :)
good visuals and sound but the gameplay was very confusing and lacked feedback.
Pure madness!!! I don't have enough words to describe my impressions of the graphics in this project, and the music... ooh. As you can tell, I'm thrilled with everything here, it's clear the game isn't perfect in terms of game design, but what it's supposed to grab, it grabs 100%! Amazing work!
good idea but needs better execution with the mouse spinning mechanic. Would be good to make it easier to make a spin.
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, this problem has been there, I'll try to rework it in the future
its seems good but controllers are not good enough
Thanks for the feedback, I'll think about controllers and rework them
Really fascinating concept with a surreal visual style I can get behind! At first hand I wasn't sure on how to inflict damage onto the rocks and boss until watching the demo video. But learning how to do so also exposed a potential exploit in said mechanic as you can just spam WASD in circles while slowly spinning the mouse without much fear of running out of fuel. Regardless I would love to see an expansion on this game!
Thanks for the feedback, I'm really glad to hear that. In the future, I'll try to rework the handle mechanic to avoid this exploit
Nice visual style. I also liked the second stage of the boss.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it
