How does your game fit the theme?
The theme reminded me of Plato's allegory of the cave which deals with the perception of realism if you have a limited point of view.
So in this short narrative game discuss looking at different points of view when upholding and building relationships.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Code is from scratch. Puzzle models also.
Environment is creative commons assets.

Nice idea and storytelling! Good job!
Thanks!
Great job, especially with so few hours available. Very unique concept.
Thanks! Been getting alot of feedback that my theming isn't on-point but I disagree :D
The puzzles are a bit dull, but that honestly works to the game's advantage, trying to figure out the meaning at the same time the girl is, but in a completely different way.
I was striving for an easy game where you'd spend more time listening to the story than solving shadow puzzles :D I was trying to lean into an atmosphere, mood and narrative than making a mechanically complex game.
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you got something out of it!
Relaxing game & well written! The concept was unique & a cool way to approach the theme.
Thank you! Some players feel like I strayed too far from the Theme but I think an abstract interpretation is completely valid :D
Love the messages each puzzle had, and the underlying lore and setting behind the scenes. A very unique experience in both the gameplay and the way you took the theme. I understand that rather than the use of actual doors like most games have done, you used the concept of the unknown and ambiguity of what's behind the door; That's exactly the concept I played around in my game, except way more literal about it haha. Overall, great experience :)
Thank you 😃 Yeah... Theming is my most common critique. Perhaps I figured this too abstractly 😂
Beautiful little experience. I didn't see the theme of what's behind the door at all, but I liked it nonetheless. Nice work.
D
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.
I took an abstract approach to the theme. The question "What's behind the door?" Implies to me something, ominous and perhaps unknown. A mystery, intrique and perhaps something entirely unknowable.
This reminded me of Plato's allegory of the cave where he describes in a narrative people who've only seen shadows of the real world and thus can't know reality as it is. So I went with that interpretation :D
first time i play this type of unique game. it was fun to play, audio quality was very good but this game don't fit with the theme.
Thanks for playing!
I thought of "What's Behind The Door?" as the question. I think it refers to something, unknown, mysterious or incomplete knowledge. It reminded me of Plato's allegory of the cave https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allegory_of_the_cave which deals with escaping ignorance out from a world of only shadows to the world of realism.
But yes, my game has no doors :D
Really interesting, the puzzles were nice too. I'm glad the puzzles were fairly forgiving.
I try to make Jam Games easy. When people play alot of games for a couple of minutes you don't wanna play like playing a Souls-Like and "Git-Gud" :D
I tried to focus on a mood and a small story.
Thanks for playing! I'm gonna go play your game in exchange!
the muzzle mechanic is well made, this one felt like I was reading a book or connecting with the artist through their art :)
Oh thanks alot! I was trying to put emphasis on more of a feeling and small story and a mechanical game. (Since I didn't have much time)
The puzzle mechanic is fully joinked from Resident Evil but it was fun to figure out how to make it! :)
Really good story, the idea is really good.
If you have time check out my game.
I definately will! Thank you for playing!
Pretty fun game, the atmosphere was good and the puzzles were fun
i liked that the first and last puzzles were the same and how that fit into the games narrative
Kiitos paljon! ;)
This was a lot of fun to play! I really liked the way you went with the theme of this jam. Can't wait to see more stuff you create!
Thanks! I have some stuff on my Itch.io page. I recommend "The Royal Game of Ur" it gets like 20 plays daily on Itch.
Solving each puzzle was so satisfying! Works great with the narrative, and discusses an important topic we should honestly talk about more often. Well done!
Thank you! I didn't time for a complex mechanical game so I attempted to lean into a mood, setting and short story.
Nice and relaxing game. It's fantastic how you managed to spend your 8 hours and get something so meaningful and finished out of it! Great work!
Thanks! It was like 20 minutes there and 40 minutes there and 1-2 days of not being able to touch the project at all :D
Very cool puzzles and interesting story! Awesome job! Especially for 8 hours of work.
Oh thanks alot! I did my best with the time I had :D
great puzzles and the way you made it solve the puzzles is so satisfying
Thank you!
Very cute game and impressive what you did in 8 hours. The narrative is really well done and the puzzles are fun to solve. great job :)
Thanks! Like I said I had help from people on SketchFab :D
Nice game, the theme was difficult to not take literaly but this game did realy good at morphing the theme
I agree. I had such a limited time I needed to make something simple so maybe that was a good limitation 😃✌️
I enjoyed the more abstract way you approached the theme, even though it annoys me that I didn't make the connection to Plato's cave while playing :D.
The gameplay was mostly fine but the moon puzzle felt like a strange difficulty spike in the middle of the game. The atmosphere was great. The visuals and sounds made me really feel like I'm in a cave
Oh thanks! The moon you thought was difficult? I personally can't say which ones are hard and which ones easy 😃 I tried to make this an easy cozy game 🥰
