I loved this one. Just trying to figure out how not to die on your own and finding clues on how to survive. Great game.

Really cool atmosphere! I like how it starts with basically no explanation and you're left to your own devices on what to do (except the bear and the spider). The solutions to each problem was logical. It's a very unique game in this jam.

Thanks!!! Glad you enjoyed it :)

This was actually really cool. Too bad that was too short. I was just getting into it lol.

hope that you'll also play mine https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-12/rate/2973690

Developer(+1)

xD thanks, it really is short :(

Over the top atmosphere for a jam submission. The game feels so calm initially and smooth to handle. Figured out the music player and yeah you can bet I heard the music every single playthrough. It was that good. If you can please do share the link for the full song.

And out of curiosity is there something I can do at the end when the white smoke engulfs you. I feel pretty helpless there. I tried burning the rags or something nothing seemed to work.

Kudos man!! You made a great game and I think with some more development you can easily publish it..

Edit: I dont know if its a bug or not but sleeping with something in your hand(the survival book) seems to delay the end scene.

Thanks for the review!!! For the walkthrough you can watch the video from the participant “SilentNova” (he wrote here in the comments) :

Or I'll give you a hint - you can use the second can of kerosene when the lamp goes out :)

If you want the composition, I uploaded it to YouTube :

About the dream - it's a way to pass the time if you've already figured out what to do in a particular situation. Ideally, the thing in your hand shouldn't affect this point, but I'll check. Thanks again!!! I'd really like to finish the game in the post jam version.

Submitted(+1)

YESSS BROTHER!!!!

I reached the end, I was like how will the keroscene work with the unlit lamp.. Feels so dumb to ask now :D

Will be following you game and awaiting a full release... Thanks for the hint!! ;D

xD there are some absurd decisions in the game, some things were just made literally hours before posting, I'll try to make it more obvious, thanks!

This is a really cool submission! Was a pleasure to play it, gj! Would love to play more! Please rate my submission, hope you will enjoy it too!

Developer

thanks :)

This reminded me of the VR game I expect you to die. Where it's basically a puzzle to see if you can complete all of the task in an enclosed space. I've got fond memories of that game, and this one was pretty good too.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for that comparison! I will definitely try this game at my leisure. Thanks!

I really enjoyed the concept! The idea of surviving in a confined space is intriguing, and the atmosphere adds a lot of tension. The mechanics are well thought out, and I love how each interaction helps unfold the story. Well done!

Developer

thanks!!!

The game immediately caught my attention, because I was also drawn to making something about survival in a closed space. It's really cool to make a polished and interesting game in such a short time.

Developer

thanks! unfortunately I didn't have time to add all the content I had in mind :(

Best game I played this jam, really well focused packed with atmosphere, nice interaction easy to pick up. My only minor annoyance is the fact that the phase with the lamp one leads to a fail state too quickly, but that´s about it.

Just give you a rating, hope you can play mine and share some feedback.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!!! I'll increase the time a bit in the post jam version. Such problems occur because I didn't have time to do playtests :)

This was a fun experience! I love these types of games where you're stuck in a single room or some other place and have to survive with what you have. Was confused why I was dying in the beginning at first, but then I figured it out :D Really fun! Impressive for a one week game jam tbh

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Hope the next solutions found faster :)

I love how much the game relies on audio, making the world around you feel so alive, even though it seems like you're just in a tent with static objects. One piece of feedback I have is listing the cause of death. I died most of the time without really knowing what I died from. Perfect example is the blue particles, which i'm assuming is poison? Aside from that this was a really cool submission!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! One of the important aspects of the game is reading the diaries, as they contain hints for actions in certain situations. And there's also the history of the world, where the blue mist is actually the whisper of the forest :)

This game is seriously impressive! The world feels alive, the mechanics are smooth, and it’s incredibly engaging. It’s clear that a ton of effort went into creating this experience. Congratulations on such an amazing achievement!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it! :)

Edge of my seat the whole time, really enjoyed this game, great work!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! :)

Very nicely made! I like the song choice as well hahah, pretty apt. Also the story/journal is a great way to convey what we have to do and a premonition of things about to happen. Smartly designed!

Developer

thanks for the feedback! ai are now quite good at generating compositions, all I needed from me was a theme and partly words :)

Submitted(+1)

This game looks pretty well, I like the fact of custom assets in there, pretty epic work for single dev. Not really got the idea of the ending though. But still I had fun playing game! 10 bear jumpscares out of 10

Developer

thanks xD the ending is so weird because I didn't have time to finalize the second part of the game... unfortunately only 60% is shown here.

Mini Outer Wilds. 10/10 best game in this Jam.

Developer

thanks!!!

The atmosphere is fire! Visuals and sound work so well together, especially when the chill music from an mp3 player suddenly breaks. It was genuinely interesting to figure out different items combinations and overall controls feel very smooth. Such a great little experience, good job!

Developer

thank you for the nice words!

Man, such tension. My friend played it and streamed his screen to me and we were freaking out haha. You really got that cool indie horror vibe, amazing work there.

Developer

Thanks for the review, I'm glad you enjoyed it!!! :)

Very good idea! probably the best of the Jam, and the theme is present both physically and metaphorically so you can't ask for more. The fact that every time you wake up you have to acquire knowledge and use what you have learned from the previous ones reminds me a bit of the Outer Wilds, congratulations!

Developer(+1)

I was really inspired by Outer Wilds! It's nice to see that you found a connection. Thanks for the review! :)
