It is a 2D Shooter with the ability to rewind time.

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes all the code is written by me and the assets are simply basic 2D shaped sprites.

I'll get straight to ppotential improvements, the distortion Post-Processing is a bit over-done, the jump is very floaty, the rotation of the cube is a good addition but it doesn't fit in, one enemy can shoot me even if I can't see him, this is extremely annoying, another addition to the game could be moving enemies, it really adds, the performance needs a bit of work, and finally, the bullet speed is a bit low, and I guess that's it! Otherwise, the game is great, great graphics, good audio and yeah! But only if you mentioned the brackeys healthbar sprite in the credits of sprites for the submission questions, amazing submission overall!
Edit: I played multiple levels without using the rewind mechanic, it really isn't a big deal in the game

Developer

Thank you for your feedback and as for the rewind mechanic i simply didnt want to force it on the player and instead wanted the player to use it to recover health but at the cost of rewinding enemies health and reviving them but thank you very much for your feedback

Good game play. Bump up the graphics on a more polished game and some more levels and you got yourself a great game.

thank you very much

Fun levels, I like the arena fights at the end of the levels. I enjoyed the rewind effect doing a negative of everything, but I couldn't see any times where rewind was advantageous. Also I feel like I recognize that health bar from somewhere ;)

Developer

Thank you very much glad liked it ;)

Liked the gameplay. Graphics are good too. Only thing is that the rewind function seems fairly useless most of the time.

Haha, fun game, really enjoyed the action and the controls felt fun. I loved the polish of the game and the feedback it gave me when i rewound or hit an enemy. The audio was really good too.

The game was suuper fun to play, and caught me by surprise cause I didn't really expect it when it started. The flow of the level was really nice and the action packed run and gun aspect of it was lovely. I liked the rotation of the square and it's 'floatiness' a lot. To be honest I felt like there is no need for rewinding. Also I had no idea how to open or how did I open the blue "door" things, sometimes it just happened, and sometimes I felt stuck, maybe I'm just dumb.
With some tweeks, the game could be really good, keep up the good work!

Developer

Thank you very much for your feedback the doors closing was simply an arena level they close automatically once you entered a specific area and to open them you have to defeat all enemies in that area but perhaps i should have made it more obvious but thank you very much :)

Ok, but enemies seemed to respawn, thats why it totaly confused me. Thanks for clarification.

The controls were smooth and it was funny how the square still rotated. Nice shooting effect and particle effects. Aiming the gun while running and jumping felt action packed.good job  Please check out my game if you haven't :D

Developer

Thank you very much for your feedback and of course i will check out your game

Cool game, had a lot of fun jumping around and shooting but I wish the rewind function had a more important aspect.

Super fun game!!! Really enjoyed it :D

I played on window mode, and sometimes I accidentaly clicked outside the window and when pressing the TAB or Space the screen scrolled down and had to scroll back up to return to the game screen. That costed me a couple of lives XD. Would be nice to have the option to use other buttons.

But still, it was a fantastic game. Congrats!!

Awesome game! I think you should have done something better with that rewind though, idk. The third level is really hard, took me a while to pass it. But anyway, fun shooter, great graphics and juice! :D

My opinion about your game is that I never really feel the need to rewind time. There are some collision problems as well. A bit more focus on level design could improve even more your game. But hey, it was fun to play, non the less.

If you have some spare time, check my puzzle game. The main mechanic is time rewind of your bomb, but enemies react to your bomb is different ways. There are 12 levels and you can do they in any order you like.  I'd appreciate any rating  https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/721302

This was a really good game and i really enjoyed playing it. The difficultywas moderate but it would be better if you implemented the rewind mechanic more in the game. Apart from that, great game.

Cool game! I really like how it's possible to push the enemies around and into lava to kill them, it really adds some great and fun variety to the combat and makes the player feel smart and inventive. This is a really great game for your first game especially, great job!

thank you very much i am glad you liked it :)

I liked how the controls felt, the artstyle is simple but actually really nice, good sounds and fun gameplay, but the rewind mechanic is not that useful and it only works as a way to recover health. Overall i enjoyed the game!

It is a nice little game which is quite pleasant to play.

Overall I didn't really feel the need to use the rewind function, and found that avoiding the enemies was just faster.

Also, I didn't like that the player was so "floaty". It was hard to avoid projectiles once in the air. There is a GDC talk: Building a better jump, that gets into details of how to implement a, well, better jump.

Good job on your first game!

The game play was super smooth.  I had a bit of difficulty finding incentive to use the rewind mechanic though.  What was your intended use when you designed it?

Developer

Simply i intended to use as a way to restore player's health but at a downside of restoring and reviving enemies as well so it would some challenge and difficulty to the game and thank you very much for your feedback

Very nice game! Its a very nice art style i liked the simplicity!

Amazing game, really enjoyed playing it, seems like you are inspired a lot from dani😁

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much glad you liked it and yes dani's game inspired alot of ideas for me but i also wanted to use 2D for simplicity

I really liked the game! Minor things that would improve the game:

- Making the UI a tad bigger, i didnt even noticed where was my healthbar until 2 minutes in

- Having a timer between shots so you cant spam as much

Overall really fun game!

Developer

thank you very much glad you like it :)

I enjoyed this a lot! Some volume settings would've been nice, because it's really loud at the start lol. Also holding down the mouse button instead of spamming it would've been better I think

Thank you for your feedback and i am glad you enjoyed it :)
