Amazing job!

Wow !! I like the way you guys mixed a story and puzzle mode together ... The Art and Design was Amazing ... The gameplay was slow but impressive ... Good Job... If you guys have time , you can also check my game ...

Great graphics, loved the story :D

Cool visual (a bit too pink). The story is touching. The puzzles are nice, but i some how manage to clear multiple ones by colliding pink and pink instead of blue+pink, maybe i didn't understand correctly.... anyways, it was a nice experience !

Submitted

The visuals are on par with the best indie titles I’ve ever played.. The idea too was very intriguing.. I would agree with some of the comments that the gameplay was repetitive still I loved this one..

Submitted

There was some very pretty visuals although they became a little bit repetitive. The main gameplay loop felt a little awkward and like it was an after thought. The story/narrative was interesting but with the disconnect of the gameplay, the game could have just been a graphic novel and would have felt more cohesive. There is potential especially with how good you are at adding polish. Also I ended up breaking the game when I "lost a puzzle" but I completed it at the very last second. The UI and other game elements broke and scale weirdly.

I streamed it here:

Very beautiful journey! Really touching narrative. The graphics are awesome!

Found some minor UI bugs after retrying, like the time bar missing.
As other mention, the puzzles are sometimes weird and more random do things than think what I'm doing. I've retried a few times the game, but didn't manage to fully understand the mechanics. I tried to reposition them, but sometimes doesn't work as I suppose they should.
I've also read that the design was the last you did and in rush... same happened to me with the level design so I understand why.

Still a beautiful experience. Great game! Congratulations!

That was so beautiful, i can't belive someone did such a thing in a game jam, hope you continue doing games like this ^^

The graphics are BEAUTIFUL. The vibe is perfect. Love the lo-fi BGM <3

Puzzle are quite easy to solve but I enjoy it. It is so relaxing. Really chill >///<

Appreciate if you could also check out our game :)

This game is great! It's gorgeous, and I love that there's a narrative tie-in for the mechanic. I wish the instructions were a bit clearer, I didn't quite understand the objective for a while. I also felt the rotation was a bit wonky. Finally, I was able to beat some of the levels by just doing random stuff, and it felt like there was a bigger emphasis on aligning objects than solving puzzles. Overall, very original game tho, I haven't played anything like it!

Developer(+1)

Thankyou for checking out the game and taking out the time to review it^-^^ A common critique of the game has been in players understanding how the puzzles get solved. This is largely due to the fact that the puzzles were the last (and most rushed) element to be designed. We'll be addressing these issues in future updates!

I'm glad you enjoyed the game! I'll play and rate yours as well!

Absolutely hypnotic game; the atmosphere you managed to build with the glowing visuals, soft falling particles and calm reflective music was a feeling I could sit in for hours. And it's also worth noting that you achieved all that while implementing a very unique design and approach to the gameplay--making it not only a joy to experience but something that's really inventive as well.

That said I did have a few thoughts when playing:

- when the game starts and you on the line I instinctively wanted to move, ending up in my button mashing hitting Q and quitting the game. I'd perhaps first shift quit to escape and then also try to find a way to lower the player into knowing that this is on-rails instead of anticipating the need to move and interaction from the get-go.

- The puzzle mechanic was beautiful to look at and very unique, but after a while I felt it stopped bringing in new ideas. Perhaps reducing the overall number of puzzles but really working on how they progress the difficulty, or keeping the same amount with a little more variety would go to make the actual puzzles even more engaging.

- Very minor, but the restart occasionally sat above the narrative text on the bottom of the screen.

- For me there was also just a little too much text in the game. It felt like you made something so evocative but then went on to explain it a little too much. The images and world spoke volumes for itself, and I think with a more subtle approach to narrative or environmental storyteling those elements may have shone even brighter. As, at the end of the day, a lot of the experience with the characters was spent looking at the text, and not their design was a shame.

- Another nit-pick but I wasn't a fan of the *tears rolling down* and script-like dialogue moments like that; again I felt like you had crafted a lot of emotion into the sequences but these little bits just took me out of that. If anything, I'd say believe more in what you're putting there. You wrote something very powerful and original, so let it speak for itself.

And I absolutely loved your homage at the end--heres to a time when we can all travel the world again and meet the vibrant and wonderful people it holds.

Amazing game, it was a really beautiful and pure experience. I can't wait to see what you make next.

I'd be fascinated to hearwhat you think about my game, if you have the time :)

Thankyou for posting the game!!! The post made me smile ;-; I'll share some of my favorite games as well!

Developer(+1)

This is perhaps my favorite review*-* It left me feeling warm and happy. But more than that, it's really amazing that you took out the time to give such detailed feedback. It's truly valuable and helps me improve the game. You raised some really solid points and I'll be sure to address them in future updates of the game.

PS. I'll play and rate your game as well, it has a really cool vibe and I love trying out story driven games!

A really beautiful and soothing experience that revolves around one simple puzzle mechanic! Also, I really liked the art style and particle effects, you guys used. Also the gradient on the characters really adds icing on the cake, did you guys use some shader for that?

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it!! There's no custom shaders for the gradient, it's actually an Unlit/Detail shader with a texture!

I'll play and rate your game as well, it looks intriguing!

Submitted

That's really cool that you guys could make it look so compelling by just using an unlit shader. So the cloth-like animation was made using a sprite sheet?

Submitted(+1)

Wow, your art and music are fascinating. Also pretty interesting gameplay and storytelling. Wonderful game!

Developer(+1)

Thankyou for taking out time to play the game, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Incredible story telling and visuals, the sounds are also great. I just wish the animations and overall story was much faster, it feels too slow every time there is a cutscene. Overall still, definitely one of the best games from this jam. The graphics are even much better than mine.

Developer

Thanks for playing!! We did push out updated versions you can find in the description where we fixed the pacing. I'm really glad you liked it ^_^

Good to hear, keep up the great work.

Nice story, visuals, and sound effects, I have a small issue with the moving cubes, I have completed the game, yet I didn't understand the moving cube thingy, it's kinda confusing I don't see it's purpose, maybe you should made it that you need to connect 2 cubes with the same color or something to make it the puzzle a bit more challenging rather than moving the cubes around randomly and completing it in such way, but I see that you are going to keep developing the game, I wish you a happy a game devlopment journey!

Developer (2 edits)

Oh yeah, we did leave in some instructions for which blocks you have to connect with which to make them go away but I'm really glad for your input; Tells us where we have to improve. But I'm glad you liked the game!!

Wow amazing art! I really liked the story and the puzzles were simple but quite unique. I did come across a bug that meant I had to restart from the beginning but that can all be patched later on. Really good job!

Developer (2 edits)

Oh yeahhh we were reallyyyyyyy tight on time with this one (as you can see with the 3 minutes early submission xD) so we left some known issues with the option to retry levels if things go south. I'm really glad you liked it still ^_^ Please leave a rating as well! I'll defo rate and leave feedback for your game as well!

I did rate it...

The art in this game is so beautiful! It was quite enjoyable solving some unique but creative puzzles, and the perspective switching mechanic was awesome to see! The dialogue was able to create a deep interwoven story despite the game being so short, and I really enjoyed following Yuna's journey despite only getting to know the characters in your game for a few minutes.

Thank you for producing this work of art!

Developer (1 edit)

Thankyou for the comment!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it ^_^ We defo wanted players to feel at least somewhat attached to the character despite the short length of the game. I'm glad we were able to do it for you ^_^. Please don't forget to rate it as well. I'll rate and review your game soon!

Submitted(+1)

I am gonna echo everyone's feedback here, amazing art. Best one I have seen so far.

I love story driven games so I loved that there was an emotional story in your game.

Love the gameplay mechanic the ability to switch perspective to solve the puzzle is really cool.

Overall one of the better games I have played so far

Developer (1 edit)

Thankyou so muchh!! I'm really glad you enjoyed it ^_^ We defo wanted a nice story to go along with the game as well. Please do leave a rating as well. I'll do the same for your game ^_

Thank you, already rated.

Wow, the art in this game is incredible! Truly one of the best art directions in the jam! I loved the flowing hair and the patterns on that red guy at the end! The gameplay was kind of vague though, I was never really too sure what I was doing and I just rotated squares and made it to the end. Also I wasn't too sure what the point of the perspective change was besides looking neat. Also I feel like the *does action* in some of the dialogue took me out of it a bit, but I understand if that's just due to limitations in making animations for that stuff. Overall really great entry!

Developer (1 edit)

I'm really glad you played it till the end! We intended for the 2D to 3D mechanic to show the player hidden objects that weren't visible in just the 2d plane. Overall we did leave the puzzle aspect of the game a bit easy so that more players can finish the game to get the true ending. Would definitely want to use the perspective change mechanic for better puzzles in further iterations! For the dialogues, yeahhh we were reallyyyyyy tight on time so we just had to push it out xD

Thanks so much for playing! Plz also leave a rating if you liked it. I'll defo check your game out as well ^_^

Submitted

ofc, I already rated it, I rate every game I play! Yeah for the 3D section I was expecting that I would be able to rotate the cubes in 3D and was clicking wondering why it didn't work, but jams and their time limits, etc
