Very cool game. I could only get to round 3 even on easy. Amazing for one week! Only real comment is that it is very complex and the tutorial is a bit overwhelming all at once (but good job having a tutorial in a Jam game!) Great entry!

Amazing game! My game is almost the same exxept for the fact that your game is SO much more polished and finished than mine. The skill level is a bit too high for me, but I could tell the high quality just from the first few levels. I wish the combat was a bit faster and you could shoot faster though.

I love the style of the character and enemies! I'm a huge fan of anything glowy :) I like the ability to get different upgrades from the enemies to power up your moves.

the art looks great, and i had a lot of fun with this one. i'm not sure which difficulty i was playing on but it was a nice level of challenge having to manage when to use the dashes and abilities. great job! i think the furthest i got was like wave 9 or so but i played it over several times.

lovely pixel art and satisfying audio to accompany! Great job. There was a lot of detail and gameplay mechanics packed into this game for something made in just a week! So a very good job with it. One thing I did notice was that I couldn't Fullscreen the game? It didn't stop me from playing at all though so it's a very minor issue!

I really enjoyed playing this game, especially considering it was made in a short timeframe for a game jam. I like the mechanic where consuming enemies not only grants you new abilities but also boosts your existing ones. The tutorial and stat explanations were also helpful. Overall, a solid effort by the developers!

Hello fellow developers! When trying 'Spirit Eater' I recommend changing the difficulty (press Tab and look to the top right) to "Very Easy", although it's named this way, it is actually just normal difficulty due to an error on my part. You are welcome of course to try the other difficulties but they are much harder.

Nice game with nice concept, but the controls are a bit confusing as you don't instantly use your ability /shoot, but overall, decent game!

Very polished and hard game with nice enemys. Only think i would say is that enemys sometime merge with background making them harder to see. Great game love idea and enemys. :)

I like your idea on this game. It's hard. 

Take off the full screen button in the Edit Game page, it covers up the Unity fullscreen (which probably works how you want).

Oh wow thank you I was wondering how to get rid of that :)
Also there are difficulty settings in the Pause menu, in retrospect I should have starter players off with an easier difficulty :P

All good. These are all basically being game tested right now. So no worries ;).

I really wanted to play this, but it didn't seem to work. There was a lot going on, and it looked polished. How do you hurt enemies? The left mouse does not shoot, and the right mouse activates the spirt eater ability which didn't do anything. I tried using it while touching enemies, and I tried eating their attacks, but this was ineffective.  I'll revisit this again and hold off on voting.

I'm sorry it didn't work for you. I never experienced any of the problems you are listing but I can try to help. To fix the shooting you may need to open the Pause Menu (Tab) and change the difficulty, that setting may cause the player to not shoot or deal damage if it loaded wrong.
As far as gameplay I know there's a lot of moving parts but all you need to do is hold left click to deal enough damage for the enemy health to turn green, then hold right click to "eat" them gaining their abilities and stats.

The mechanics are very interesting, the tutorial is quite complete and the gameplay is interesting.

The very minimal pixel art and the quite apt music are also excellent.
