great work - beautiful game both visuals and sound. Lots of great details and fun to play

Developer

thank you!! :)

I usually don't play deck builder games but this one is pretty fun to play.

Developer

thanks for giving it a try! glad you had a good time :)

I loved this. Neat idea and the sound and visuals were all great. Very cool interpretation of the theme. It wasn't exactly balanced, but that seems like the point. Reminded me of playing Dominion. I, too, ended up with an extremely broken Deba  knife, but it took til turn 18. Although at some point, I think the values rolled over because I ended up with one that could remove negative scales.

Developer

thank you so much! i'll add that to our bug list

I really loved the aesthetics and card animations of the game, again as with other people I did not understand the lose conditions, but nevertheless it was quite enjoyable stacking cards and just dominate the game for as long as it lasted.

Developer

thanks! i'm glad you enjoyed playing :)

to lose, you need to have scaled less than 50 fish after finishing turn 20. it's quite hard to do haha

I broke it too! But I think I beat the speedrun world record! I'll let the game run for a while, see what happens!

Still really like the game tho, I just think it needs more balance for so of the knifes. The Deba can become very OP if you have a lot of time. There's also a bug where it seems like the boost applied on a card will stay between round, which makes the cards even more OP.

Still super enjoyable, the aesthetic is nice, the music is on point, the UI is great. All good, love it!

Developer(+1)

thank you so much!!

oh wow, beating it by turn 5 is super impressive!! next, you can try to beat my high score of  41,953,470 damage in one round :)

(what happens after is that the damage will all apply and then you'll go to turn  6 haha -- not the most exciting.)

the balance is wonky on purpose, with the cards scaling wildly as the game continues (although by turn 5 is probably too soon haha). we didn't have the time to remove the bonuses applied if a card isn't played, but it does at least lean into the theme

So, you're basically saying that if I let it run all night, and let the next round start, I'll have a Deba knife that make the other 483295723897542389x stronger? That makes me want to know what happens when that float get too high now :P

Developer(+1)

only if you finished your last turn with a deba in your hand that was already x483295723897542389, then yes haha -- it'll probably crash the game, but you'll have definitely beat my record!

While game play is addictive I did not understand the lose condition of the game.

Also the game take control out of me and doing his own thing.

I just kept it running for fun , yeah things just went crazier from there. I think  some multiplier just don't reset.

Developer

thank you so much for your feedback!

the lose condition of the game is a bit hard to meet actually haha -- you need to scale less than 50 fish in 20 turns.

by the game taking control, i think you might be referring to when the scale damage is being applied at the end of the game? we originally intended this section to be a bit more interactive but didn't have the time for it unfortunately.

things getting crazy is part of the idea with your power spiralling out of control. and yes, the multipliers don't reset if you don't play the card (which is technically an exploit but we didn't have time to fix it and it leans into the theme in any case haha)

glad you had a fun time playing! :)

Nice idea! I'm really enjoy that you apply deck building into removing fish scale XD.

Developer

Thank you so much! :)

Wow! Amazing artwork! And the gameplay feels damn smooth! Really enjoyed playing it :)

thank you very much ๐Ÿ˜Š

Very polished game, visually striking, good sounds and music. My only problem is that after you scale your cards high, there is no way I will wait for 8700 fish to be scaled :D. I also didn't understand if there is a lose condition? Does it go forever?

Developer(+1)

thank you for your kind words :) yes, it's a bug that the win menu doesn't really work sadly. But if you are to scale 8700 fish you've definitely won :D the loss screen should work however (you lose after turn 20)

Great Idea! And the animations are great!

Fun game, I do love deckbuilders!

Thank you very much! :)

A fish-scaling card game wasn't something I ever expected to see and you pulled it of excellently.  Now excuse me while I wait through 365 fish being scaled to see the ending.

Submitted (1 edit) (+4)

Very satisfying to play and also beautiful, good job! I managed to remove 12,800 scales in one round, and didn't really want to sit through it, so maybe speed up the scaling animation?

Developer

Thank you very much! :)

Yes that is a bug, actually the game won screen should open immediately because the damage is dealt immediately in the backend. If this is considered a critical bug by the admins, we'll release a bug fix today :)

Really awesome game! I love the idea behind it and it's a very cool take on the theme. I would have thought of turning fish scaling into a card game of all things but you pulled it off well. The sound is a great addition too. The only thing I would say is that making the game end right at 50 would probably be better, or an option to skip to the last fish you would clear that turn. If I'm understanding correctly, my very last turn produced enough to scale about 9820 fish so I did not get to see if you had a win screen because I would have been waiting here forever. That said, the ability to arrange a combo capable of scaling that many fish was truly incredible so I wasn't mad about it. Really exceptional entry!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

Skipping the final animation would definitely be a good addition.

Submitted(+5)

This one will be high in the ranking! Creative and polish, but maybe 50 fish is too many lol

Developer(+1)

Thanks,  we hope so!

Once you start doing some multiplier combos, you can scale to some crazy numbers :)
