I had fun with this. The first level could actually catch a few people out who dont realise the kind of mechanics you've implemented. I got through quite a few levels but one of the things that you are missing is a Level indicator either somewhere on the screen during a level or when you complete the level it could say "level x completed". I got stuck on a level where I couldn't see any platforms and at that point it got really hard - from a design perspective maybe there could be a more obvious (albeait subtle) clue as to where you should be looking when you get to the harder levels. But I really enjoyed the game. Thought the art was really charming, I loved the wall-jump mechanics and the moving from one side of the screen to the other - which made me think about how I want to solve puzzles and that demonstrates some good design principles. Well done to you guys and great submission.
Great video game
ps : I like the first level ;)
Nicely made game. I only made it to level three, but I felt a real sense of achievement figuring out level two :-) As others have mentioned the handling is a little tricky, but I guess that contributes to the challenge!
Good platformer with lots of hidden spaces and platforms, good level design. I disliked the keyboard handling, it requires too-perfect jump timing and seems to detect jump presses a bit late so you have to press the key a bit early (this seems to be a common bug with a few other godot games - not all, but more than one - so maybe something godot specific).
I wish I would've added controller support. It's so easy to add, just was at the back of my mind while working on this game. I did implement Coyote Time in the jumps, but the setting might not have been set enough to make a visible difference.
Thank you for the feed back and for playing!
Pretty cool game, nice concept! Very good color choice, and I liked the relaxing music.
Took me a bit to understand how to spot the "invisible" platforms, but once I did, it was pretty straightforward finding the way. I think I managed to complete some levels in an unintended way by jumping high enough off the platforms below the door, instead of going through bottom edge or platforming.
I ran into a strange bug where sometimes, pressing Space doesn't make the character jump but instead only plays the jump sound, that was distracting. Coyote jumps would've been nice too.
Glad you liked the game! I'm glad you found "unintended" ways to beat the level. That was part of our design process! We didn't want to tell the player how to beat each level... we wanted them to think of how to beat the levels in any way they could!
As for the jumping bug, that's strange. I hadn't run into that while testing it myself. Definitely will need more play testers for the future. Coyote time was implemented, but perhaps not set to the correct length of time.
Thank you for playing!
I completed the game. Clever idea!
I often found that player control didn't work as intended, and it would be nice if it improved.
Thank you for playing! What issues did you run into? I know that there was a bug with the player not being able to jump when the button is pressed.
Yes, I think that was the problem. But I wasn’t stuck and it wasn't impossible to get to the end. Nice work!
Cool game, reminded me of levels with looping borders mechanic in VVVVV (was my favorite mechanic from that game), fun implementation. I wish that level completion screen wasn't so white compared to the darker style of the game, felt like a flash bang every time xD
LOL! Sorry about that! Thanks for playing.
Fun but short, I recommend playing the game in fullscreen and wish I had from the start :P
Haha! Full screen is a plus! Thanks for playing
Brilliant.
The idea is just amazing, it could be developed further into some amazing game. The controls are a bit loose, especially the double jump, it is a bit difficult to perform. Overall the art, music and gameplay is nice. Theme interpretation is outstanding.
Play my game too
Thank you for the feedback!! Funny you mention a double jump... there wasn't one implemented. If you are double jumping, that's a bug and is probably why it's difficult! LOL.
Thank you for playing!
You aren’t kidding? I mean, there were several places where double jump was the only way to go !?
Making games is just fun, and the results are …. 😂
Looove it!
Wow, you guys really took the "Secret" theme and ran with it huh? From the hidden blocks to the level wrap around, I got a time of 2:00:364. You love to see everything in a game like this work and work properly. Also stylin' on people by catching the small palette, but it works. Great game guys.
Fun little super meatboy style platformer with the twist that a lot of platforms are hidden inside objects or are made of shadow. I liked it, the puzzles were fun and none of the platforming was too punishing. I ran into the bug where sometimes my player would keep running after landing. I really enjoyed the lighting effects and the sound was super mellow. The speed running aspect was cool. Really nice game.
Thank you so much! We're glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for playing and the feedback.
