The game looks great, especially because of the big 3d planets showing some depth. Good job adding a lot of mechanics. I'd recommend making the points of interest closer together or letting you boost faster. Also making the player slow to a halt instead of stopping instantly will do a lot for game feel.
Thanks for the feedback! I just released a new build with the map 50% smaller so hopefully that will help! Would like to redo the entire player ship movement but ran out of time on it. Perhaps I can find a way to fake it for now. Thanks again!
Nice looking game. I would try to make it possible to use the warp gate with a key press instead off first unlocking the cursor
Thanks and appreciate the feedback. Warp gate key might be a good idea, ill see what the possibilities are.
Agreed. Since you are using WASD to move, F is a natural key for "use" or "interact"
I really like how you made the map also the models for planets and other objects are high quality. Great work!
Thanks!
Good job! I really like what you did with the game and the compas is a feature that was implemented very well!
Some feedback:
Overall a very nice and satisfying game!
Thanks for the feedback, I just did a new build where the map is 50% smaller so perhaps that might help with moving between areas. I agree with the thruster sound, will need to review that. Thanks for the comments!
Very good job with all the detail that went into this. The levels, things to do, and I really liked the on-screen radar/locator.
The levels could be more compact, though. There's a lot of flying with nothing happening, everything is neatly put together. Perhaps the enemy ships can be placed or moving around randomly in the level just to harass the player and add some action in the flight.
Thanks for the feedback! I just did a new build where the map is 50% smaller so hopefully that will help
At the starting point I was met with a big bad pink triangle under which the ship was hiding. It seems one material is broken in the WebGL version.
(running Firefox under Linux)
I get that space is big, but there is a bit too much empty space and long flying between those various points of interest.
The local "OSD map" that gives directions where to fly to was really useful... But it would be good, if there was a map screen of the local system as well...
Thanks for the comments and feedback! That is a really odd thing for it to do under Firefox. Ill keep an eye out for the issue. Did you try the downloadable Linux build and did it work any better?
I just did a new build with the map 50% smaller, hopefully that will help with the long distances. Map screen of the system would be kind of fun. May have to look into that.
Thanks again!
Great job!
Thanks!
Great job :), has the feel of a proper Epic Space Adventure!
Nice mechanic with the ships respawning based off environment!
Good point, I should have let myself get killed during my play...
Very nice game. When I read the story, I first thought it was the same game that I wanted to make, you just were able to execute much better on this. I still have a long time to go to get it there. I really like the background map.
Thanks for the comments! Looking at your project you are well on your way to execute your idea!
The background and planets are lovely. We do find the movement control to be a little bit weird. Also, too much dead space. It would be great if the enemy projectiles are more visible. Overall, a very cool game!
Thanks and great feedback! The ship mover is the one part I've been unhappy with throughout the project but didn't have time to change. Think next time I will do it completely differently.
Very cool aesthetic.
Thanks!
Congrats on completing the jam! I liked your game, the perspective, and the models. I did find the maps to be quite big and empty though - I get it, space is BIG, but a smaller map (or a MUCH faster boost) would have greatly improved my gameplay experience.
Thanks! Agreed, there should be more in the background, always a tough challenge with space.
Very fun and pretty game! Great job! Would play the crap out of a more fully fleshed out version of this game!
Thanks, great to hear!
Nicely done. The action felt a little too spaced out, even with the thrusters. I like the idea of respawning as a different ship that was salvaged from space debris.
Thanks for the feedback! Definitely needs more going on or a smaller map.
Cool game, anything space is a plus from me. I did notice there seemed to be an issue with bullets going through some colliders? Try setting the collision detection to continuous rather than discrete. As always, great music from Paul
rate4rate?
Thanks for the feedback, that collision thing might be what i'm missing. I will check it out. Thanks!
I enjoyed the music and the overall space game play!
Thanks!
Wow really impressive! you guys jammed a lot of content into this game!
Great job on the game. I wish that there were more per system, and maybe less per asteroid point and pepper them out more so it doesn't feel too barren and long of a treck from one location to the next. The ship controls and shooting is pretty solid!
Thanks! Appreciate it!
Nice job! And as always, Paul never disappoints with his music.
Thanks! And yes, Paul creates beautiful music!
Love the planets and the improvements you made along the way.
Everyone should play this.
Thanks!
