Very cool game. I really enjoyed the way each enemy had a character they wanted you to be and the swapping between characters felt really smooth.

Developer

Thanks for playing around, hope you enjoy it!

Cool idea, it’s just that enemies get out of control very fast

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for coming around, yes, the enemies spawn time depends on the wave number, and that casue the crowd enemy, it's my design flaw, but I will change that after my new design finally set up, thanks for your feedback.

Submitted(+1)

That was very nice! I liked playing it. What was the purple - revive thing with F? Like extra life if you died?

Developer

Thanks for coming around. That purple thing is one of your character died, another can spend half of it to revive themselves. It’s a background story setting, the interconnection of one character that can transform into two form to fight.

Wow this was a fun game to play.  The art and the music came together so well.  I felt like i was playing one of my classic sega genesis games like shinobi 3.  Really enjoy this and boy curious to see what happen if this was taken to the next level.

3 issue I came across. One is when both character were killed the game continue as in the time for the next wave and all so it was stuck. happen once but just bringing that up.  Second is when i would attack the skeletons at times I would see a red box appear for them like their collider it seem. Didn't happen a lot but I saw it many times.  Third is when I would click on main menu, it would take a couple of tries to get it to go back to main menu. Other then, very interesting game here.

Developer

Thanks for playing, that's a big compliment to make the game that reminds you of the classic games memories, I really appericatie that. The players died and time keeps going, that's definitely a bug. Second, the skeleton red box is for the counter reminding, but I should I consider to turn it off. And the go back menu, I make a coroutine that after playing the ripping paper sfx, it will go to the menu. Thanks for your feedback, it takes effort to find these details, and I'm glad for your honest feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Of course, happy to give some feedback.  Wanted to help give constructive criticism to help you out in what to keep in mind or so.  Yeah i heard the paper ripping sound from the menu just it feel like i had to press it multiple times to go back to the menu.  Awesome job on this.

You used many different asset packs but they all seem to work together very well together. Controls are good and so are the mechanics.

Developer

Thanks for playing around, hope you enjoy it! The assets really cost me lots of time to find, but glad the final result is not bad.

You've put together some gorgeous graphics! It's really polished and it controls well too. Great job!
I loved the parrying but I wished there was some time out on it. I was able to just spam parry with the fire projectiles.

My only real complaint is the switch mechanic feels nothing more than an optional damage boost. I stopped using it after a while and focused more on parrying and attacking. My suggestion is to make enemies take either VERY small or no damage unless the correct character is active. And you'll still have the special move to balance out the difficulty.

Developer

Thanks for playing and your honest feedback, yes, currently the special attack is kindof like damage boost, but it really breaks  the game balance because currently I still have not ideas how to let people keep playing it. That's why these few days I slow down and consider to do more design work, and I think your feedback is great, I will consider how to balance it. Thanks for playing!

This was great, played to wave 11. Good mechanics, lots of little details. Nice!

Developer

Thanks for playing, hope you enjoy the game!

Great atmospheric game. It was difficult to break away from the game. Great work.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for playing. It's glad to hear that you like it, and your comment is the best appreciate, really thanks for that!

Submitted(+1)

Great job on this! It looks gorgeous and It's really fun! It gets really crowded but I kind of like the chaos of it. Countering projectiles is really satisfying. The WebGL version crashed on me once when I tried to use my special attack. I might try the download version since you recommended it on your page.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing around, it's happy to see you enjoy the game! I will double check the special attack bug, and I'm really happy that you enjoy it!

The chosen audio are a good pick for the game theme. Personally, the level gets a bit too crowded with enemies and the advantage system you use could just get ignored. Overall a fun experience hitting through all those enemies (and eventually dying).

I have to say that in my way to cheese the enemies with counterattacks, game closed (played the web version).

Developer

Thanks for playing around, and lots of people mentions too many enemies problems, I think I should really balance that instead of increasing the power of players. Also, when counterattack, and the game close, I think that's a bug, I will go and have a look, thanks for your feedback, hope you enjoy it!

Submitted(+1)

This is fun little wave based action game. Great use of the theme. I ran into an issue where my charater vanished even though my hp hadn't dropped to 0. Other than that a quick restart and I was back at it.

Developer (2 edits)

Thanks for playing, hope you enjoy it. Em.., That's a tricky bug, I will go and have a look, thanks for your feedback! Also, I really like your game, one of my favorite in this jam, great job!

I love the SFXs and the music you chose. For a one-guy game it's amazing, gotta give it to you! You could add some progression to the game and you could start building on this with a story. For example, instead of going Left and Right, you could make the character go to the right and explore as well (like a side scroller) and even reach a village or something. It's a nice concept

Developer

Thanks for coming and playing around. That's definitely a great advice, I also wander if I can add a village to make it likes rpg, I will consider to design it in my future game. Thanks for the honest and great feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Very cool concept; the SFXs are satisfying, and the music you chose was great as well. I recognize some of the assets as well; pretty cool. I think a few more mechanics would be nice instead of just being bombarded by enemies, and the resolution as well does not fit right. Overall, good job! :D

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for coming around, hope you enjoy it. I agree with that the game can be more diverse in the future, and I will fix the screen size problem, thanks for your honest feedback.

Addictive little combat game, nice feedback, cutting through waves of these enemies was pretty fun and felt satisfying. I think a progression loop of new abilities and new enemies over time would make this a keeper.

I also got a bug when I hit R. I screenshotted it for you. Playing on Windows 10, Chrome.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing around, I will fix the problem right now!

Developer(+1)

Bug fixed! Yes, in my future version, I will definetly make the progression by random selection, not like the auto upgrade in current version, great adivce, and thanks for playing around!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, but had a very long error message when I use R. But it happens only when you dont switch character before.

Developer

Thanks for playing, could you tell me which platform you are playing, web, windows or mac? Hope you enjoy the game, get to fix the bug lol, seems lots of people mentioning this problem.

Submitted(+1)

i played on web, with windows on firefox.

Submitted(+1)

Nice done! Art is on top. The gameplay is cool, needs a little polish on the parry (you can parry behind you for example) and on the enemies, but overall is nice! Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, and thanks to your honest review, I will try to make it better, hope you enjoy it!

Submitted(+1)

This was really cool. Had a nice twitch-reaction action game feel to it, with the swapping characters and deflecting projectiles. Very satisfying.

Developer

Thanks for coming around, hope you enjoy it!

Nice! Very polished-feeling combat for a jam game, and great use of the assets. I didn't get that you can switch in order to exploit weaknesses at all, and yeah, it crashed when I pressed R. But quite nice! I would maybe make them arrive slightly slower from the portals, now you can be overwhelmed in matter of seconds - a slightly slower ramp-up basically. I also think that mechanics-wise this game is crying out for a proper level-based design where you actually jump and run through a level and fight enemies en route, rather than a horde-based thing which is what we have here :) Anyway, GJ!

Developer (2 edits)

Thanks for your honest review! I agree that the player should be reminded instead of enemy just appears suddenly, I still thinking about how to make a good transition, but I will take the advice. For the level design, it’s also a great advice, I decrease to only combat because it takes time to design an engaging level, especially when I try to balance the jump and land. I hate the little stuck feeling when you just hit the corner and fall down, it needs more assets to make the motion fluently like climbing up when you just hit the corner, I will implement the level design in my future dev log, but you really hits two points that I’m stuck in. Thanks for the great feedbacks, hope you enjoy it, and the press R and crash bug, could you tell me which platform you’re using? When I’m testing on my windows, it works just fine.

Submitted(+1)

Very nice entry. I actually recognised the player character assets from itch. I've used them in some past projects. The combat works very well even with combos and you have some enemy diversity. Very solid entry. Congrats.

Developer

Thanks for playing, hope you enjoy it.

this looks absolutely awesome. unfortunately the game crashed when I tried to hit 'R' when it blinked.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing, I need to double check where the problem is and fix the bug later, thanks for your feedback!
