I love the story. It perfectly fits the jam theme. Well done!
Really well thought-out. My main issue is that it's too short, would love to play a longer version of this game. The narrator and game idea reminded me of Thomas Was Alone. The graphics made sense for what you were trying to convey.
I wish it wasn't so short but I ran out of time. I would definitely like to make a full version of the game. Thanks for your feedback. :)
I went the wrong way first and ended up backtracking quite a bit to get to the light xD I really liked this game, I wanted to continue playing :) Also the name is clever
Very nice idea for the theme and very nice Story. I also think the viusals fit perfectly.(One of my favorite games so far!)
This was really elegantly presented! Was just disappointed to see it end.
Looking forward to seeing more of this!
Very cool implementation of the theme, I'd love to see more of the story, expanding in 3D and perhaps 4D too would be very interesting. Transitions and animations are very well made and dramatic. Loved playing this!
I have never felt so much dept in a story about lines. It was good. I actually always look for sounds and music in a game but this was fine without those. a sound effect can be added when the portal expands but other than that it was awesome. also that sound effect is not mandatory. it is still good without that.
Thanks for your nice comments! I definitely regret not having time to add music or sound effects, but it's high on the list if I continue work on this project in the future. :)
Great story, wonder if Flatrick gets 3rd dimension in the sequel
I definitely plan on that if I make this into a full length game. 😊
Great approach to theme! Short and sweet, I enjoyed every line of the story as it's well put together. Congratulations on the submission!
Best use of the theme in the ~20 games I played so far.
It's very short and there is not much of a game, it's more like a short story but it's well put together.
A hint for your platformer: Put a zero friction physics material on the platform's rigidbody to make it so Flatrick doesn't stick to the sides of the platforms :)
And congrats on submitting to the jam !
Thanks for the feedback! I admit I only spent like two hours on the platformer part because I was running out of time. 😅 If I make this into a full game I will definitely make improvements to the controls and physics.
simple but good game. Will be even more fun if you give some simple music and effects. Honestly, when I first playing the game, when I see that my character is a Line that can only move in the place it belongs really excited me since its really unique. However after change into the second dimension, everything is changed and my excitement also gone since it goes from unique to normal (sorry for saying that). Afterall it just my personal opinion, but good job for finishing the game :D!
Very fun game! Love the Flatland feeling from it and enjoyed the gameplay. The character movement felt good throughout and I enjoyed the look and feel of the game very much!
Cute game! Was Flatland an inspiration? Thankfully Flatrick did not go crazy from experiencing a new dimension :D
Yes it was! Thanks for playing the game. :)
I enjoy dialog based games like this and the innovation in changing dimensions was great :D.
Really cute game, and extremly well done for the theme as well!
woha, having 2D actually be an upgrade from your former dimensionality?! great idea!
Also: very smooth integration of gameplay and narration, to have them happening simultanously i mean. well done!
This was cute and simple effective storytelling.
Cool, a nice short story that fits the jam theme
Wow, really creative! I like it.
I got a buddy named Patrick and he's really skinny. Had to play it. My Flatrick made it off the grid. He lives in the mountains now...
