Good job, especially for a first game jam submission! The game feels complete and well put together.
Personally, and this is pure personal preference to be clear, i find the speed to be a bit too much, but other than that it's feels really nice and the different aspecs of the design do fit well together.
Cheers :D
Well done, this is really great for your first game!
Really enjoyable gameplay :D
Well done. You've got a game that feels complete! Music/SFX/ speed of gameplay all go together really well!
This is really impressive, especially for your first jam submission, and extra especially for your first game published! It looks really clean and plays well, great work!
I really like the speed of your's ship and enemies. Becaouse it's fast it gives me the feeling like I was flying with war spaceship not just simple spaceship and it makes the game very nice to play. The idea with dogs and cats is great! Good game!
Nice job! I have to keep playing to find out what happens when time runs out! The only suggestion I'd make is, the two beams seem to be just far enough apart that if you point directly at an enemy, they go to either side without hitting. It might be nice if they were slightly closer together, or if each beam independently pointed at the mouse, so they converged where you aimed. Really great though, and feels well polished!
Nice game. Love thee nervous gameplay. Feels good!
Loooool I enjoyed the opening story. Great artwork and writing. Good music for the gameplay, I felt like the last defender of earth. I think looking into the camera work to keep the player closer to the center while moving around the arena would help for this style of game so enemies can't sneak up to easily. I like the color palette you went with for the game, very space-y. Good stuff!
I had to laugh when this game started up, as I very recently used the same music by Juhani Junkala for another game I've posted on Itch - Project Rocket, which is based on Bram's Project Boost in the Godot 3D course. The action is fast and slick, very nice job! I have to say, after that deep intro, I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any sort of epic conclusion if you survive until the time ends; the game is simply over. Still a very solid entry, well done!
This one really did it for me! The fast paced gameplay, the teleport mechanic was freakin brilliant, and the frenchies vs cats story was appealing to me. I agree with my brother below regarding having some indication of when we take damage. You did an amazing job of this on the enemies so I know you have it in you!
Awesome job! Loved it!
Thank you so much!
I'm glad you liked the teloport machinic (I spent way to much time to get it working properly XD).
I was planning on adding a damage animation to the player but in the end I didn't had the time to do it XD
Thanks for your helpful feedback!
The time spent on the teleport definitely paid off, that was an awesome gameplay hook!
Wow amazing work especially as I read in your game page that this was your first developed game?? Some of the highlights for me were the saved score so I could keep trying to top my best and the teleport mechanic was very satisfying and fun!
As you asked for feedback on your forum post I would just entertain the idea of having the damage to the ship status include another visual indicator like perhaps a color change? Maybe very damaged the letters would turn red or something.
Overall, I really enjoyed your game and keep up the fantastic work!
Thank you so much!
I'm glad you had fun playing it =)
Yep, this is my first game, I still have a lot to learn XD
You're right, in the current state it is difficult to see the player's life during the gameplay. I will keep your feedback in mind and do better next time.
Thanks again!
I love the game, keep it up!
Thanks!
I'm happy you like it =)
Nice idea. Kenney soundtrack rocks.
Thank you I'm glad you liked it!
The sound effects are from: Kenney Sci-Fi Sound Pack
but the music is from an artist called: Juhani Junkala
Without his music my game wouldn't have been the same.
The very first really FUN game I found here (most other things are barely games).
Played it till I won. A little bit disappointed that there is no victory cutscene I hoped for.
Thank you so much, you have no idea how much you made my day with your comment.
I wish I had more time to implement a victory cutscene, but life got in the way XD
Thanks again for your feedback, I really appreciate it!
Loved the cutscene! Really fun overall, interesting mechanics. Great job!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the cutscene =D I wanted to give the game some personality. Appreciate the feedback!
It was pretty fun actually, the teleport move on cooldown was pretty cool, and the story was pretty nice at the beginning as well - great job!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you like it!
I think you wanted to write "You shall not pass" instead of "You will now pass" if you wanted to do LOTR reference. Got a score of 1,970,100. My only problem with it is camera starts to move too late, when ship is near the edge of the screen, but maybe it's intentional to facilitate gameplay where you mostly stand in one place. Cutscene at the beginning was appreciated, would be cool to have a small one at the end as well
Yep it was a LOTR reference but I messed up XD
Great score! It not easy to get a score this high!
The camera part was quite a challenging aspect to implement well in my game, because I wanted the ship to be fast and having the camera centered on the player made the game difficult to read and could feel nauseating after a while, but yeah given enough time I could eventually find a better solution XD
I planned a ending cut scene for an ending but yeah.. I didn't had time to implement it XD
Thanks for your feedback!
