Great presentation, really helps with the fun aspect. Liked that you included a tutorial as it would be a bit hard to figure out otherwise. Got quite OP after a few round but it's really hard to balance during a game jam.
Thank you for playing, I'm really glad you found the tutorial helpful! It took up most of a day to get it to work right and I worried it wouldn't be that useful. :)
Balancing was definitely too difficult for me to get right. I wanted to make sure it was possible to see all five of the different levels I'd managed to make, so things are weighted heavily in the player's favor. As long as the player is willing to spend a lot of time doing upgrades in the shop, at least. :)
Nice job on your game. I very much appreciate all the time and care that went into the different enemy and weapon types. The manual mode got confusing for me once the party expanded, it seemed like I had to give each party member specific instructions. The increased time speed is a great quality of life addition. Rerolling the weapon upgrades was a feature I utilized liberally! Very nice addition. I had an instance where one party member was at 0hp and I retreated, it said I both retreated and failed at the same time. The art style is fun, and the music was really well paired to the action. Very good work on your submission!
Thank you for playing, and for the feedback! Manual mode is meant to give the player control over each party member individually, but in hindsight it makes a lot more sense to direct everyone at once. Or at the very least to have the option to do that.
You're the first person to mention getting a failure message at the same time as retreating, interesting! I knew there was a possibility that the end of battle events could overlap, I should have made time to properly test the different scenarios. Thank you for bringing it to my attention! :)
Its fun but after 10min you get too much money XD
Thank you for playing! The money definitely spirals out of control... it's better to have too much money than not enough, right? :D
Yep qwp
This is the best! It is really adicting, I dont know how many waves I cleared,
I really liked all the different weapons and enemies, It is really good! :)
Thank you for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :) A wave counter would have been a good idea, now that you mention it! That stat is tracked internally, but I could have easily made it visible to the player as well.
Very addicting game, played quite a bit aswell, didnt realize you could equip two weapons until almost the end lol Visually it has different drawing styles but the characters turned out very cute and compelling, it also feels very good to upgrade weapons with changing appearence, maybe adding an icon to the shop for the upgrades so you dont have to look one by one especially later on. Very fun overall!
Thank you for playing and the feedback!
Sorry I didn't think to make certain aspects of the shop and equipment more obvious! I definitely want to improve that aspect of the game, and adding an icon or some other indicator for weapons which can be upgraded is a good idea.
Hey nice little game ! i think it fits not the theme right ? but good job
Thank you for playing!
Whether you feel it fits the theme is open to your interpretation, of course. :) My thoughts are that, story wise it's the Last Stand of a castle which needs to be protected, but that's explained more on the game page than within the game itself. Mechanically there's also a Last Stand when the castle takes too much damage (when you run out of lives/castle icons.)
Really fun autobattler.. played it a lot longer than most games in the jam :)... did get a bit repetitive near the and but still super fun well done!
Thank you for playing (longer that most games in the jam!!) I wish I'd been able to fit in a proper finale, rather than the repetition at the end.
I think it might have came off as a backhanded compliment but I mean the game was very engaging, you get enough resources after every battle to see upgrades, which apply significant benefits. Enough variety in weapons and followers to really think about builds, meant I was engaged with the game.... thanks and well done!
Oh, don't worry at all! I was proud my game held your attention more than the average! :D But thank you for the further kind words!
That was so much fun to play really well done !
Thank you so much for playing, I'm glad you found it fun!
Interesting concept! I loved the storytelling at the begining! And the gameplay pulls you in! Great job!
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked the cutscenes and that you found the gameplay compelling. :)
Capitalism... more like CATitalism (see what I did there?)
I do see what you did there! 😸 Thank you for playing!
Love all the new weapons, just when I thought I was finished Boom a Morning star.... Great, very addicting to see the numbers go up.
BGM blended nicely. I want more cute party members :D
Great job on this, well done and good luck in the jam <3
Thank you very much for playing! I'd also like to add more cute party members, and give the player an option to rename them for those who aren't a fan of nuts. :D
This def takes the cake for the best gameplay loop. I needed to stop myself from playing because I will prob play for hours lol. Also love the quirkiness of the setting :3 Amazing job!
Thank you for playing! And having the self-restraint to stop playing when appropriate! :D
Cool game with a clear inspiration, really well set up mechanics.
Thank you for playing! I'm happy that the game systems seem to be well set up, looking at them from the other side I mostly see the flaws. :D
This is amazing! I lost track of time while playing it.
Thanks so much! It's good to know I managed to put enough content in to hold your interest for a while. :)
Love it! Its a really cute and engaging game!
Thank you for playing, I'm glad you found it engaging! And also cute. :)
Excellent - Nice one! :)
Thank you for playing!
This is so impressive! This might be the longest I've spent on a submission so far. I didn't realize until way too late that you can equip multiple weapons. I love the sense of progression, this would make a really good mobile game!
Thank you so much! I really, really should have done a short tutorial for the shop. It was probably more important than explaining the battles. I'm glad that you were able to figured it out!
You smashed it.
Then rerolled, got better weapons and smashed it again.
Nice job.
Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to playing your game, too, it was already on my list to take a look at.
You really escalate the weapons well. It kept me interested just enough to get to the next round. Took me a minute to realize there were opportunities to have to weapons and a hat to boot on each character.
Great job on this!
Love all the nut jobs!
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I wish I'd realized how little information the player really gets in the shop, I rushed an update to explain that upgrades exist in the last few hours before submissions closed, but totally neglected to mention dual wielding or anything else. (I wish I'd been able to add more hats, too.)
Fun game. May have to come back after the voting period to play it through entirely.
Thank you for playing! Right now it doesn't have a proper ending, but once the review period is over I hope to add a final battle of sorts. :)
