While I enjoyed it, I must have clicked at the end both times I tried it and missed the assessment each time.
Or is there no assessment?
This is a style of game I like, and it's been done well, just not sure what I did wrong.
Well that's what I get for staying inside on a sunny day and sitting by myself in a coffee shop :)
The other thing I wanted to do was play it fullscreen, perhaps modify that option in itch?
cheers

oh no! I’m not quite sure what causes that bug, but if you let it play out naturally on the last line of dialogue, it should work. Sorry you ran in to it! Thanks for feedback :)

I'll try again, I think I was too eager to click.

As a writer, I always appreciate game jam submissions that take the time to develop a story rather than just starting with a blurb explaining the background and letting that do all the work. I was especially impressed that there were even some choices to make! This was a lovely and intriguing moody little adventure, and the aesthetics were on point; it's amazing how some simple lighting effects can elevate a game, even a small one like this. Super cool stuff!

This is a really outstanding submission, a really beautiful and enjoyable game, it definitely deserves all the attention and praise it's been getting. Congratulations!

Very nice story telling, the atmosphere is very good as well, good job!

Pretty good until I hit a bug where I went invisible.

I just before the memory of the café I died a lot, then on the last go the camera didn't zoom out, so i had to navigate the other souls without the zoomed out view, then I got there, saw the memory, and when I left I was invisible lol.

But I enjoyed it, nice idea and aesthetic and I wanted to see where the memories went.

Does a reload of the page fix it? :( Sorry you ran in to it! I would love for you to see the end

The same thing happened again, only this time once I finished the memory in the school.

It seems after I die several times in a row, or maybe its something specific that happens that I was unlucky enough to run into.

Once I died a few times then moved to the next memory the camera didnt zoom out again, I made it to the school memory and when I finished I was invisible again.

This is awesome!

I don't have anything else to add that everybody else hasn't already said. The music fit great, the particle effects were really nice, the color and atmosphere of the game looked perfect (especially the gradient on the text), the actual story within the game was very cool and a unique idea!

Fantastic job! I hope you're happy with what you made, because it rules!

amazing story! nice game.

And you say this is your first game jam?!

Very nice aesthetic, particles and lighting really sell things.

Narrative, dialogue, and choices? I'd be a criminal not to rate you high in story for that.

Fairly simple mechanics but it does the job of providing an obstacle to the player.

I'm not really sure how it ties to the game jams theme, but a great narrative experience regardless.

Good job :D

thank you!! It is a human souls last stand before judgement :)

*Brain clicking noises* Ahhhhhhh, very nice!

Very beautiful game. I kept on pressing space bar to advance the text and did not realize I could choose the options. Maybe I am just tired from trying all these jam games. Congrats on an awesome entry!

Visuals and audio are great. I loved the dream-like and melancholic atmosphere. The memories were very immersive. Good job on the lighting, particles, and dynamic camera!

Wow, this was incredibly good! One of the more memorable games I've played in the jam! I really enjoyed the story. Great work!

really nice story

Really loved the atmosphere and the approach of the last stand theme. Music was nice and complemented the mood of the game perfectly. Great work! :-)

Great game! It's all really cohesive and sets the mood perfectly. It left me wanting more!

Submitted(+1)

It is my favorite so far. Everything blends perfectly to create the ambience. Excellent job1!

One thing that i specially like a lot about the game's atmosphere/setting is how the objects light blend/affect eachother. Very nice atmosphere, solid game and replayable if you want to get all the possible endings, well done! :D

Wow this was an absolute treat to experience and one of my favorite submissions so far! I use the word experience rather than play because the attention to all the details to create an experience were present in this project and it felt more than play.

The music was relaxing and enhanced the atmosphere created by the visuals. The different branching dialogue paths were well written and engaging where I wanted to try each one. The camera transitions between the bad spirits stages were a nice touch. I can't fathom how you created all this in the time restrictions of the jam and would be very interested to see what additional stories you might tell if you continue to develop this style.

Fantastic work!

This game is beautiful and the memories were really well done! It is very reminiscent for me of the kind of beauty and contemplative mood in games like Thomas Was Alone, I enjoyed it a lot. I was a bit worried about the game over screen since it made it seem like I’d have to restart, so I was glad it was only from the last memory. Definitely impressive how polished this is for the time allotted, well done!

(Also, fellow Godot developer?)

Fellow Godot developer! I have always been interested in Godot, but this was my first actual week getting something completed in it. Really loved it!

Submitted(+1)

This was my first game in Godot as well, I had done some tutorials but it’s very different making something from scratch. I also was a big fan having come from Unity, so I’ll definitely be sticking with it going forward!

I liked the overall atmosphere and the very simple style in the flashbacks! Story was great for a jam game as well :)
