Great game with an absolutely incredible atmosphere! The art, and that music, it all adds to an amazing feeling of isolation. I had a great time playing, good luck!

Thanks Cyberpxl!

very fun and unique idea on this game! awesome work. This was a fun challenging game. Loved it.
would love to see more too after the jam.

This is a very well done and polished game, for it to be taken one extra level both visually and in functionality there's two things that i'd like to suggest.

The passenger ships, when they are done with one of the extraction points they don't go automatically for the next, my recommendation is to make them go for the closest one if the one that they are currently assigned to is finished. Found them idle at the delivery zone.

The ships when they shoot don't turn, you could make them turn with an offset, and that way tou could make ships that shoot from the sides or from the front, and they wouldn't look "idle" while shooting as they swap targets and aim for them.

Cheers, solid game here! :D

I really like this one, super clean and polished RTS mechanics, which is crazy impressive for a game jam! Amazing job, well done!!

Amazing achievement in ten days, congratulations!

Adding sounds would make it perfect

Developer

Thanks very much albesca! It's on the todo list :D

Wow, a fully-functioning RTS game in 10 days, that alone is amazing.

To top that, the gameplay was engaging and compelling. I had to find a balance between evacuating population while building up defences! There was even AI built in to control transporters (though i realised too late they dont reselect the next nearest city after the orignal one they were assigned to was fully evacuated.

Eventually I got overran, but not before having a ton of fun.

Incredible entry! One of my favourites so far for sure! Well done!

Developer

Thanks very much Busride! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it so much :D

Lol yeah I bet it was a tad awkward to see a pile of transporters sitting near the evac zone. After the jam I'll have to figure out if they should auto move to the closest or furthest place to pick people up.

Amazing game! So cool! I would add in more enemies in the 1st level and less in the 2nd level. It felt like it went from 0 to 100 with the difficulty. Ultra great game though, especially to do solo in a 10 day time frame.

Developer

Thanks Devwizard! Yeaaaah balancing is something that was a tad rushed, the spike is very real o.o

I'll see about doing something after the jam!

This game is so cool, it has good fighting system and a variety of ships, the art and graphics are so nice, the gameplay is fun. I like it!

Ay thanks abdo!  :D

Awesome submission, so impressive for a jam game, and I really enjoyed playing it!

Developer

Thanks Seedborne! (Are you a plant?) Glad you enjoyed it!

Neat! This was a chill and pretty complete-feeling RTS. I was a little surprised there were only like three or four enemies that attacked the entire time, before I realized I was only on the first level. Still, just building bigger and bigger ships to ferry people from station to evac point was a meditative and oddly satisfying experience in and of itself. I didn't have time to play further in one sitting, but I though this was a pretty impressive project for a jam game. Obviously I would have loved some SFX, but maybe after the jam? Nicely done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks Squ00sh! (That's a fun name to say out aloud), Glad you enjoyed it!, and it sounds like you managed to exit right before the enemy wave manager threw the deep fryer at you :P

Absolutely will add some after the jam, hopefully that goes well :D

You know, I kept building battleships and turrets cuz I figured there was going to be a climactic final attack. Sounds like I just missed it lol

Impressive RTS controls. Well done!

Developer

Thanks very much Niborsom :D

Rare to find any RTSs among these gamejams, let alone something as good as this one. It has many of the elements of classic RTSs like balancing playing greedy vs safe, there is some micro involved etc.
I noticed the mechanics of the game lead to some morbid strategies - it's a lot faster to evacuate stations close to the evac point so those are best to be evacuated first so they can grow the economy, but that means using the furthest ones as a human shield made of billions of humans.
My PB is  30 days and 23 hours with 31160 million people saved. I have a feeling that the freighters are actually quite bad compared to the transport ships so I might have done a bit better if I hadn't used any but I am happy with my score. This is probably my favourite game of the jam so far and I will probably to make an RTS next jam as well.

Developer

Aww thanks primortis! As I was making this I definitely understood why it's rare XD

There's aloooot of moving parts and systems that might overlap, and balancing units on top of all of that. It is quite a bit!

It's cool that you picked up on the morbid strategies part of it. Personally when I play I still feel a tad bad leaving a station behind to reinforce behind it. If I added audio, I'd probably try and use it to tug on the "people are dying" part more.

And 31 (almost) days is pretty good! Very nice :D

Awesome to hear you might do an RTS :O

If you can load unit stats from a csv file, oh my gosh do it. I just have a large array of structs with all the unit data, and copy pasting takes a while.

Also in the game there are actually just two ship types, the players, and the enemies. And they load things like health and speed from the big array.

This is an amazing game! well done!

Developer

Ay thanks Mildwin!

Wow I was not expecting to find an RTS among the submissions let alone one that was well polished and fun to play! I really enjoyed balancing my resources between the military ships, transport ships and defense units. The classic select all units with box drag was very well implemented. Music fit the vibe of the impending doom unless we evacuate story really well. An absolute winner for me!

Developer(+1)

Ayy thanks very much eric! *I had to do a double take because I'd sworn I'd already seen you but it was another brother!

I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

Haha yes I'm Andrew's twin 😁

Visuals and music were awesome and the gameplay was really good.

Developer

Ay thanks NS studios :D

This was so cool! One of the games I enjoyed the most this jam!

The only thing missing was some pew, pew sounds, but honestly, I did them myself :-D

Also, the text over the stations could have had different colors, so it's easier to read.

But other than that, really enjoyable game!

Developer(+1)

Ayy super glad to hear Rangwath! Lol thanks for filling in the gap in audio assets, it must have gotten interesting with more ships on the field.

Yeah that text colour is a good point, I'll give it a whirl and update it after the jam :D

Amazing game! I love the visual and audio design, the music fits really well and gives it a very dramatic mood. The feeling of desperation  when you're getting overwhelmed fits the theme perfectly! I had a weird bug my first time playing the webgl version where only a single wave of enemies ever showed up. Tried a couple more times and couldn't replicate the issue so maybe it was just a weird issue on my end. I also tried the windows version and had no issues. You nailed the RTS gameplay, everything looks and feels so smooth. Would be a cool project to expand upon!

Developer

Thanks for all you've said Dplus! I'm hoping to do a lil expansion on it and see how that goes after the jam's done.

And ahhhh I thought I'd squashed that bug, I've heard it happen on occasion so I reckon it is probably the game somewhere. But thanks for mentioning it, I'll look into it some time :D

This was really good. It took a little time to orient to what I'm doing, but now I'm excited that I know what I'm doing. The music and story go well together -- a BSG bitter sweet. Sound effect would go a long way.

Developer

Thanks! Haha yeah the onboarding was a tad rushed in the end but I'm glad you got the hang of it.

I agree, I'm hoping to add sfx some time after the jam, hopefully that goes well :D

This is a very good-quality submission! 5\5 for every aspect of this game

Developer

Thanks very much Danko! :D

Really impressive game! You got far in a week, felt polished and deep gameplay. Loved the choice of music also.

Developer

Thanks Chrono moon!
