This is so great! It reminds me of an old nitrome game called toxic. This ability could be used in some awesome ways to create challenges and puzzles. Getting the boomerang stuck and having to retrieve it is super cool too!
I had not heard of that game before so I just watched it on YouTube and it looks pretty decent. Thanks for posting a comment

I love the idea and the destructible terrain. I can already imagine a whole game around the concept. This is a really fun entry. My only nitpick, and it doesn't affect my rating, is that I think you should have the terrain destruction be a little more varied, because right now it looks like the same collision circle. I also think there should be a penalty for being in the blast zone, but as a character demo, I think you nailed it and showed what's possible.

Yeah I agree with what you've said completely. A little variety in terrain destruction would definitely be better and I shall have to look into doing this at some point. Thank you EndMarkGames (maker of Lasso | The cowboy bull) and 89o (maker of Aldehyde) for making me aware that there should be a penalty for being in the blast zone. After a while of testing a few ideas, I've now come up with something that I really like and it should be viewable by round 2 if I get through.

Cool beans. One thing I'd say, though, is that for me at least, the boomerang could be faster and further-reaching, at the moment it feels a tiny bit slacky/sloppy/some other adjective beginning with "sl". One other thing I'd change is maybe add some penalty to detonating the bomb too close to yourself, so that you consider your environment before you throw. Maybe becoming dazed for a second, or making the screen completely white? One thing I really did like, though, is how it would get stuck on terrain when coming back, that was a nice touch.
Really appreciate your feedback. I shall play around with the speeds and distances. I have recently tried to make it so that the player could hold the Z button to build up the distance but I failed to get it working how I wanted as it interfered with the jumping and caused delays and stuff so I might take another stab at it at some point. That's an excellent idea about standing too close to the bomb and completely agree that there should be some sort of penalty for it. Both ideas you came up with are great penalties, shall have to think about this. Thanks again.
I think the ability is very fun! I like that you added a story of how you found yourself in the dungeon and created your weapon.

Love the concept I like that it gets "stuck" too shows a bit of extra effort went into it and allows for some around the corner style throws.

Nice work. Would be cool if you can throw your sword boomerang towards the mouse and perhaps have it get stuck in certain surfaces (like wood as an example).
I think I will be adding mouse controls for sure and I do very much like the idea of the sword boomerang getting stuck in wood, thanks for sharing.

Thanks. Worms was actually the game that inspired me to make this game as I absolutely loved playing it when I was younger and oh my god the holy hand grenade, that was epic. Loved the banana bombs too, good times

Love it! The sword boomerang, the explosion effect. It's all just super fun to time with the throws. Great job! Would love if the boomerang traveled in the facing direction (like up and down) if you decide to expand in the future.

Kings, boomerangs, explosions, destructive environments are all awesome. I'd like to beable to control how far you throw, but loving what you have done so far.

I really liked this, great job! Would love WASD controls with M1&2 for the boomerang just for my tastes!
Glad you liked it. The WASD controls got added in my latest update as a last minute change so they can now be used as an alternative to the arrows and I also made it so the n and m keys can be used instead of the z and x keys. That makes total sense using the mouse buttons, I don't know why I didn't think of that. I shall definitely have to include it in the next round if I get through. Nice job on the mechanic! Now that you have the destructible environment piece down, I would like to see some more epic destruction possibly by holding down the throw button for longer. Could be super satisfying if you take this further.
