Nice art and music. Definitely needs some exploration in the system design and this game could be something really fun and cool as some form of story driven game!

How does your game fit the theme?
To charge up your hero, and to paint more parts of the world, you have to craft paint bombs from the plants and animals of that world. The colors they give, will change their world - everything is linked, everything is JOINED TOGETHER.

I love the idea of coloring the scene. Honestly, I don't think this game needed a crafting system other than to try to force this to fit the theme, but outside of the theme, this is a really nice, relaxing experience. Came to this one right after a bullet-hell game so the change of pace is refreshing lol
It would be nice if there was some kind of end/win state or if it was clearer that this was a sandbox-like experience. I think you can refine it in either direction if you want to!
Your art is incredible, and the music is nice too. Good job playing to your strengths with this game!
yeah, the starting thought was that the player has been joined to the world and as he provides different colors to the world, his own colors fade away and he has to collect enough color to give it to the world, the crafting took most of my time as i had to implement an inventory system and hook it up to Ui, then there was a problem of implementing a hotbar system to switch between different bombs. Could have gone without the crafting system and worked on the end game goal.
Thanks for the feedback.
I will definitely try to complete it.
Don't really understand the gameplay, I only walk around the world and press space, I don't know what to do in the craft menu ^^'
But the art is awesome !! Everything from drawing to music, even the coloring animation look really well ! Nice work ! ;)
The artist has the most load of work here. Well done making such a classic relaxing coloring game!
Making such a soothing and beautiful game in such a short time span is amazing. I really enjoyed that - thank you!
I really appreciate the efforts of the hand drawn art and music in this one, well done guys. Inspirational work.
The best graphics on this jam. The game is relaxing. Good job!
This is definitely the most beautiful game I've seen this gamejam, your effects are really great.
I wish there was a little more "game" here, but y'all have created something really beautiful.
I didn't quite understand the crafting system, and I wasn't sure if I needed to use different colors on different areas, or how to get them.
That being said, I just spammed space to color the entire world, and it was a very enjoyable experience - very therapeutic. I could see this being a fun relaxation game just to fill a world with color and see the end result. Having all sorts of different worlds would be great.
I love the shader effect as well to color the world. Over all, nice work.
Regarding the art workflow (in very short): I started very traditional, with pens, brushes, watercolor and paper. After scanning the image, there came a tedious and repetitive step, where i had to clean up the scan from all these little dust particles and the scanned paper structure. From there it was all fun again - improving the colors, doing some small corrections here and there - and then the assets were good to go into the hands of Bom, our developer.
so lovely! Thank you for sharing! I saw the image of the tower in the discord at one point and was excited. I hoped it started on paper. I did the art digitally for mine and it was so much more difficult in many ways. I haven't done anything digital in over a decade and I didn't have a real pen or anything. No bite on a screen like you would get on paper so it was so much harder. Also I really appreciate the effect that comes from hand drawing and scanning in. So lovely! Thank you again for sharing <3
I gave you a follow on twitter btw (@genkisoda) it was nice to see more of your art and your process! Nice dev-log of sorts! Also I noticed you wrote 'zum see' on the sign post item and was wondering if you are in Germany/Austria? I know that the guy running this jam asked for information about what engine people used to build their games but I would also really love to see a nationality breakdown too!
Oh, you are really attentive. Yes, Germany it is. Thanks for the Twitter follow, will follow you back. And here is my latest contribution to our game - you might be interested in the very last part, maybe. https://humane-tiger.itch.io/colored-artbook
