I can only imagine the amount of work and flowcharts you made in other to bring this to life. Believe it or not, I was able to see everything like a movie. The first game of the genre in this jam. Well done, Morg. Well done...
Ahhh that was really sweet T_ T And a very unique concept! I like how you used the different colours to denote the past and present.
the story is good and engaging but needs a bit more in terms of presentation
Entirely text based games are at a bit of a disadvantage when it comes to that, definitely something I'll work towards in the future though.
good story but this probably would have been better as a point and click adventure
Perhaps! But in a lot of ways, point and click adventure games were an evolution of text adventures, so I don't think we were too far off the mark. Definitely something I want to improve on, though! Thank you for playing.
Enjoyed the time travel shenanigans, and glad to see someone use twine! It's a versatile little system. Someone mentioned adding little side items to do in the past to influence the future in small ways, and I agree, that would be fun.
A very calming experience and it brings back memory of my old home. It is emotional even without any graphic or music and it joins together the two timelines well too.
If you add some soothing music and graphics for replacement of some text, this would be a therapeutic game.
Some side quest (?) in the past that makes minor changes to the future would be a nice touch too.
I don't usually play text games, but this was a fun one that held my attention for a while. good puzzles! some visuals would be super helpful to tell the story :)
very bold move making a text-based adventure game. I liked the time travel mechanic and overall the comedic concept.
As someone who moved away from their hometown a year ago, this really made me miss home. It's a good use of the theme to use the "joined together" past in both a literal and a figurative sense. Really good job!
Nice idea! This is of course the first text adventure game I've seen here and it does it well. The game tries to lay out everything clearly by switching colours when in different timelines and having the text pop-up and all of that. I have one nitpick however and that is your goal isn't clearly stated, the setting is described well and why you're there, but not what we're doing in the apartment (something about a hook?). Also the multiple options that suddenly appear can appear jarring. That's just some criticism I have for the game, other than that, great entry to the jam!
Thank you for playing!! We tried to state the initial goal (finding the coat) in the opening, but it definitely could've been more clear in places, something I've definitely learned moving forward. The idea was that you're exploring the past of your apartment to find something you lost and recapturing it in the future.
Nice text adventure and nice take on the theme! Very interesting story until where I played, but I fear I wasn't able to find the note that my landlord left (didn't seem to have the option to look at it in the hallway). Overall really good idea and great fit, well done!
Thank you for playing! The landlord note appears in the past, but disappears once you find the handle and screws and install them.
Great to see how you used the theme to make a text adventure game!
I like the fact that the buttons' color changes when you have already explored them, makes it easier to figure out what to do next. Also the bowl in the bathroom that gives hints was a great touch to the game!
I did get stuck at one point though, the bowl of hints didn't help either. I had checked all rooms and places, tried every button (in both present and past) but the story didn't seem to progress any further, I loved the game nonetheless!
Overall, an amazing entry to the jam! Great job!
Thank you so much for playing! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Where did you get stuck? There is an ending to the game, once you finish both puzzles.
I had assembled the coat hanger, found the knitting yarn and also the old coat
Great text adventure! I loved how the times were joined together.
Great to see that that you have done something different with a text game that has an intriguing story and puzzles. Nice work.
I didn't expect to find a text game submitted to this jam, but I certainly wasn't disappointed! Good job.
As someone who also writes stories, I was really intrigued by this one! I loved the attention to detail. As a short story, this was very effective one. The ending hit an emotional note between melancholic and hopeful. I hope you keep making games like these!
Well made text adventure, good job. Time travel toilet is cool, I wish I had one :D
Nice a text-based game, a bit a change of pace from what we see a lot in this jam! I thought it was very well written, and a unique story too. Never imagined flushing a toilet could warp time?? Also liked the change of text color to show what time period you are in. I'm not quite an expert in these types of games so at one point I was a little lost on what to do, I think it was after the coat was hung. At that point it kinda turned into randomly clicking all the options, and the toilet hint was just mentioning how it goes between time periods. Eventually though I noticed something that mentioned yarn on a balcony (maybe I was reading too fast before to see) and then it continued. Got to finished and very nice little ending! Anyways great job with this, I enjoyed this little trek through time!!
amazing game, a climatic cinematic experience
Nice easy going text adventure. Heartwarming ending.
