The game is cool and very beautiful, but the controls are a bit confusing : why having two buttons to control the two parts when you can just have 1 to just switch between the one you're controlling and the one you're not ? And why not use the TAB button since this one is useless once the robot is splitted ?

Also I found an interesting bug :

Developer

Haha thanks for the awesome GIF, imma post this on YouTube for sure haha!  Hopefully I can figure out how to fix that bug.

Submitted(+1)

It's really easy to recreate, it happens when both of your splitted parts fall in the void

Developer

Ahh so that's how it happens lol.  I'll just use your GIF in a youtube community post soon :D

Probably one of my favorite entires I've played so far!  I was enjoying it so much I was planning on playing the whole thing.  But ran into the same bug others ran into on level 3 with two spawned robots and wasn't able to keep going haha.   I'm glad I played this one as I've also subbed to your youtube to follow your other stuff :D

Thanks a bunch for for the awesome comment :D That is a super un-intended effect of my wacky code haha.  Thanks for following!

Absolutely beautiful! Don't tell my teammates, but we had a similar idea for our jam but I think you executed yours a lot better! Above and beyond!
It looks great, feels great to play, interesting puzzles, soothing music, lots of interesting levels. Great job! it's practically a full game!!

Nice!

Developer

Thanks a bunch for the great comment!! I think your other teammates commented too haha :D

Hey, I saw that you liked the tweet about my game, I hope you had a chance to play and rate it! Just finished playing your, and wow, the art is amazing, the movement feels good (aside from the top part of the robot being a bit too slow), and I loved the sounds effects. I would recommend some controls changes like other commenters, if you have time to update and get it working later definitely go for it. The button for swapping between top and bottom might be easier to use if it was just one button, and the shooting would be more convenient if it was on the keyboard as well. Overall, great game, I haven't finished it yet but I plan to later! (I'm keeping the WebGL tab open)

Developer

Thanks for the awesome comment :D And yup I rated your game! It was awesomely well done~

Your game is great, the pixel art is fantastic and the game is a lot of fun to play. It's also presented extremely well. The only bit of feedback that I could suggest is mapping the shoot button to a key on the keyboard as opposed as the mouse isn't really needed in the game for any other gameplay, and perhaps some more feedback when shooting the enemies (maybe a red flash). Excellent job! :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and the great comment! Yeah you're right~ I wish I put more key options for everything hehe :D

Developer(+1)

I made a devlog about making the game if anyone is interested :D

Beautiful art, and really fun and creative gameplay! I'd definitely call this a Neat Game!

Developer

Thanks a bunch for playing :D

This game is relaxing to play. I like it

Developer

Thanks for playing! I chose the relaxing music to help me relax while making it lol

Wow, really cool idea, with nice levels and pixel arts too! Nice works!

Developer

Thanks for trying it out :D

Love this game, reminds me of nitrome. I would suggest changing the control scheme though. W for jumping, space for splitting, and tab for switching between leg and head.

Developer

Thanks for playing~ I'll check out that game :D I originally tried having it all on 1 button, but couldn't get it to work lol

Submitted

Just watched your devlog, I can see how splitting and switching between parts with one button wouldn't work, but I do think my control scheme would. Anyhow, are you planning on continuing to develop this game?

Submitted(+1)

Great idea, well executed! Well polished. Nice job!

Developer

Thanks a bunch :D

The art, gameplay, and music was phenomenal! I got stuck (Literally). I tried connecting my robot back up when the head was in a one tile space, and the legs were just outside of it because they can't fit. When I reconnected, the robot was stuck in the one tile space and he couldn't get out. When I tried disconnecting, the legs couldn't get out. Maybe make it so that you can't connect when your head is in a one tile space?

Developer

Thanks! Yeah I should figure that out~ if I keep working on this I will definately try and stop it from happening :D

One of the best of the jam, just an absolute blast to play. A bunch more levels and a narrative and you've got a proper game right there!

Developer

Thanks for the wonderful comment! I'm super happy you enjoyed it :D

I loved the look of your game and the platforming felt very smooth! something broke my first 2 times trying to plat where i ended up with 2 sometimes 3 robots and had to refresh the page to get the game working. but all around when it was working it was fantasic!

Developer

Thank for playing! I hope I can figure out how to fix that bug hehe

Cool idea.

Developer

Thanks :D

Hey Nick. Some feedback:

- Robots kept duplicating themselves.

- Jump feels too heavy.

- Gameplay feels kinda repetitive.

Could not beat the game due to the duplicating glitch.

Developer

Thanks! I'll try and figure out the bugs~

Submitted(+1)

It's a cool idea, but it get's a bit repetitive. The visuals are great though! Just to warn you, I think I found bug because when only one part of me fell into a pit, I respawned as two full robots.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yup that is a known bug hehe

I liked the aesthetic a lot. The concept has been done in other games but it felt really good.

Developer

Thanks for playing :D
