How does your game fit the theme?
Passerine explores the ways that small, disparate beings can combine together into a larger whole -- individually, a single songbird accomplishes little, but when herded into a vast flock, they can overcome any obstacle, with the falcon and the handler working in tandem. Work as the falcon to shape and guide the flock, retrieving scattered birds and uniting them to clear a path for the wanderer below.

Woah, this was really cool! The intro, graphics, and even the controls were really nice but it's obviously not much of a 'game' at the state it's in right now, but I can imagine how cool it would be if you continue this project! Also thanks for playing my game on stream :)

It's a shame you weren't able to finish more of the level, I could see where you were going and it looked interesting! The controls were really nice and using boids as a mechanic is cool :D

The nostaliga hit real hard with that ps1 intro, really beautiful game, love the bird flock simulation, hopefully you'll get more out of it because its really cool just to see the birds fly around! Congrats! <3

This is really cool, hope you keep working on it because I was excited to see where it was going.

The sound design is top-notch and I really enjoyed the artwork. Those intro graphics gave me ps1 vibes which I enjoyed heavily. If you decide to follow through with this game, it would be awesome to print it out on a CD.

This really had a great vibe going to it, It's a bummer you weren't able to finish it. Thanks for sharing it regardless of that fact though!

Oof, I wish there was more of this. Super cool idea, and the bell / landing mechanics seem to have space to grow. I love the atmosphere you conjured here, too. The scarecrow has a story to tell, I'm sure of it. Nice work!

The movement is very pleasant and satisfying, and the idea of using flocking behaviour/swarm intelligence/boids as a gameplay element is also intriguing.  The art style feels a bit mix-and-match, but the audio was nice.  Overall, it seems like there's a lot of potential and I was disappointed when I got to the sign that said you hadn't developed beyond that point.

An awesome concept that I really wanna mess around with more.  It felt really fun to just flap around with the falcon, either speeding around, crashing to earth or just flapping along.  The idea of herding birds with a falcon for solving puzzles etc. also seems like it could have some potential.

Maybe something to do with different bird attitudes, reactions, habits etc. could impact different game mechanics and such.  It definitely seems like there's some really cool base systems with this game too, obviously the flying, but also the setup for info/interaction is nice.  It fits birds landing on signs and it's also got a nice way of skipping things quickly while also showing you the info you need.

Also the startup is great it sorta seems like Playstation stuff, not sure if I'm right on that.  Either way though it's a great start up.  If there ends up being more content for this, whatever it is, I'd definitely play it (which it sounds like there will be).  Till then tho, I've gotta go back to flappin around and messing with the birds.

Certainly a unique concept. I was hoping to see more ways to use the flock, but still a really cool idea. The game looks really nice, and the controls feel great, too. I think I got stuck though. I couldn't figure out how to open the first door for the scarecrow. Did I miss something? This looks really impressive to have implemented in just 48 hours. Those swarming birds look great, and I appreciate you doing a swarm type mechanic without it being bugs or something more common. Well done!

thanks for the review! you did not get stuck, that's as far as we got so good job getting there! there's a little sign near there that says its the end of the game

Nice little game, I wish you could expand it.

So. Many. Birds!  Would be interested to see where you take this idea.  Aesthetics are really nice and seeing all the birds on the screen made my heart happy.  It was also very straightforward on how to move the bird character around, thanks to the red path line.

The presentation was nice! I quite liked the pixel-art and the parallaxing environment. Would love to see what kind of puzzles a flock-based game like this could have!

Pretty game! I hope you have time to expand on this idea in the future

Awesome atmosphere and gameplay! I really like the Desing (especially sound-wise). Great Job and well done :D

Although short,  a really well polished atmospheric game

Great sound design, great ambience, and great feel! Wish this was further developed! Great job!

I really wish you had had more time for this game to see what would have happened later, are you going to continue development on the game? It's really interesting and fun to fly around - really amazing job on this game! I loved the design of the scarecrow as well - I assume the game would have really started with it

The ambience is really nice. Had fun exploring, even if there isn't much to do yet.

This is an ambitious game with a lot of potential! The ambiance is really nice, the controls are smooth, I just wish the game was continued further. Maybe there will be a longer post-jam version? I'd be excited to see that happen!

Thank you for the game (and for uploading a Mac version ;-) )

Beautiful game! I'm not sure I knew exactly what was going on, but I appreciated the vibes and had a lot of fun flying around
