Looks amazing!
This game is sooo good, so relaxing yet so challenging. You came up with a mechanic that goes beyond one playthrough. This feels infinite and still has potential to grow.
Hope I'll hear more about this one, and willing to hear what Mark has to say about it, cos he'll include this in the jam overview for sure.
Also how tf do one make an S? lol
This is literally so good. I do wish the game could do fullscreen tho. And some letters are hard to figure out imo
i know there are hundreds of comments here that've already said what i've said, but man this is a really creative game. i think a handy recipe book would be nice to keep track of how to make letters, and variations on how to make letters would be nice, since other people can draw letters differently. i almost got stumped on X before realizing it was just two V's, but i think two C's could make an X too, kinda... it's a very cozy game, and i hope you get onto the video :)
When I first saw this game, the art style reminded me of the card game Machi Koro - a game which I absolutely love the art style of. This game has simple yet very in depth mechanics. The fact that you made this in 48 hours is a marvel. Amazing work.
As a lover of board games, I'm so happy to hear you compare us to Machi Koro art, that's awesome hah! Thank you so much for the kind words!
I love this factory game with beautiful images! good ideas, excellent finish.
As we promised during your stream, here we are to check your game out! 🙌
I think what all other comments have mentioned so far checks out, and almost doesn't need to be stated again, but we'll do it anyways! This is an excellent masterpiece in design and makes the player think in a puzzle-game without overdoing it cumbersome mechanics. The player is taught everything they need to use right at the start, and then its up to them to figure out the rest as they go through the levels.
In fact, as we were playing this, I was discussing with my artist about how this is an excellent game that could even be used to teach programming, especially the visual kind. The logic and combination of results, and the way you connect different letter factories together through small nodes is very reminiscent to the visual programming engines such as Unity and Unreal use.
Otherwise, there's nothing much else to state. The aesthetics are pleasing, the make-your-own-word adds a fantastic layer of replayability (as screenshotted above) and it's a genuine good time. I saw the rest of your games and saw that you've made games for mobile before, and I definitely think this would be a fun mobile game to have on the go.
And that's sums it up! I hope to genuinely see you guys on the top-20 video, because even the number of ratings proves this game more than deserves it already. Cheers! 🐳
Thank you so much for your time and your review! Your game was also super impressive to me... especially exporting desktop backgrounds, I absolutely love that you added that feature, especially since the art is just so fantastic, it's absolutely worth treasuring. Thank you so much for submitting your game to my stream, and for checking out our game.
There's absolutly nothing to say apart : perfect.
Very clever ! crazy replayability.
Absolutly love it. I'm probably gonna lose some hours on it next week.
Exceptionally clever with a fun premise and very pleasant aesthetic, and just a very polished product all around for 48 hours. Some of the combinations it rejects feel a little arbitrary at first (puzzling out T was particularly tricky) but nothing insurmountable.
Thanks to Marks stream I discovered this gem. Such a nice game, especially for a game jam. I'm impressed. Love the depth, the level of detail, the fact you can just place the factories over the place and everything just works. It's so intuitive.
I'd be surprised if this one doesn't end up in the top 10
Amazing submission!
This a unique one, for sure! While the tutorials help, brain fuel is required. But I really enjoyed exploring its sandbox kind of vibe and hope to see more!
This is my favorite game this jam, I spent like an hour and a half playing it. Some combinations of letters that I felt should work didn't always work, which got a little frustrating sometimes. But, I was eventually able to figure out how to make every single letter in the alphabet.
T was the bane of my existence. I was able to make it with an L where the short line of the L was on the top left combined with a sideways I. However, when I tried it with the short line of the L in the top right corner and a sideways I, it didn't work. So, I initially gave up on the correct solution entirely since it was the same thing in reverse.
S was also tricky to figure out. Combining U's to makes sense. But I was trying to do it with C's in the same exact shape to no avail. I feel like either should work since they essentially make the same shape.
Also, since there's a horizontal reflector factory, there should 100% be a vertical reflector factory. Would make certain letters like A easier to make. Also, there should be bonuses for finishing the word in a faster amount of time. Another bonus for doing it with the smallest number of factories. Then, the highest score possible, etc.
I also really liked the build-a-word feature, that provided a bunch of replayability (half of my game time was spent on that). Honestly, I'll be incredibly surprised if this doesn't end up as a finalist in Mark's video. The minimal art style gave me mini metro vibes. Overall, fun game, you guys should be proud!
Also, please continue development on this if you're interested. I think it would make a great mobile game. I loved this game, I would 1000% play more of it if more content was created for it.
Extremely well presented! Very high concept game with great design all around. I can easily see this being a mobile game, especially with those cute animations.
Amazing one. Should be pollished and published 👍
I really like this one. The only bit that gets kinda annoying is that there's a lot of combinations that I'd expect to work but don't.
Wow, that's beautiful! I love the mix of limited choices on materials with the endless results you can create. Really clever!
Great concept! Will definitely play more of it. xD
I love this type of games. Thank you for making this.
I can't figure out T
a lovely, soothing experience. now, what factori do I need to produce 5 stars?..
