I absolutely loved the way the papers slide smoothly across the table and rotated a bit when you put them down. Fun game, I just wish there was more time per quest, at least in the beginning :)

Very well thought out (with nice music and sound effects to boot)!

Great game, from the aesthetics to the gameplay. I especially like how adventurers level up and come back. Overall, fantastic game!

I LOVE the concept behind it, and it looks really polished! I wish the time to assign quests was a little longer at the beginning while I learn how to play :)

Thanks alot for giving us feedback. We wanted to try and balance the timings in a way that did not harm replayability; so that experienced players could progress quickly into the later stages. We are thrilled that you enjoyed our game, thanks for playing.

Very well made entry! The mechanics are fun and the concept fits the theme well. I think the font kind of took a bit away from the vibe, but I had a great time. Nice job!

It's a clever, very original idea that also fits the theme perfectly. The art and sounds make the overall atmosphere quite excellent. I honestly have nothing bad to say about the game.
Maybe just it's balance could be tweaked a bit, as when on my second try I got 31 quests, later on my desk was flooded with CVs and I had no time to dig through them.

Amazing job!

Developer

Our high score is 39 :)
Thanks for playing, we're really glad you enjoyed it.

I got some serious Papers, Please vibes from the gameplay. I think it would only need some sort of narrative or something to push this beyond gamejam level.

Developer(+1)

Believe it or not, I've actually never played Papers, Please before! I'm sure a narrative would be very interesting.

It can get euqally "frantic sorting pieces of paper" :D

Yeah, just a bit that peaks one's curiosity beyond the sheer challenge would be nice.

Lucas pope is an indie pioneer and if we can capture anything like his work we are deeply humbled. Thank you for your feedback.

Really great visuals and sounds/music, with an original idea, good job!

Suprisingly fun and tense as the game goes. Well done!

Original, polished, and good concept. The audio fits perfectly.

Even just reading the resume and joining them on a quest is fun !

Good Job !

Great game! I loved that I was able to find like 2 teams that would always go together and got really good with one another. By the end I lost because I couldnt read the people fast enough lol. It was fun having it scale up, like you were so successful everyone kept coming to you until you could not handle it anymore and start doing a worse job. Thanks for making this :)

Developer

We're chuffed that some of the ideas we were trying to capture translated into the gameplay. Thank you for leaving such kind words, we appreciate you playing our game.

I got to 33, then lost it, too many cards on the table lol. But it was really fun and it looks very polished, doesn't look like a jam game, from the UI to the small effects, all very curated. I liked the addiction of dead cards at the end, and the mechanic is really easy to grasp. Good job!

wow what a game. the music and art is just totally outstanding. very cool and creative idea.~Please check mine, when you get time :D

Really nice presentation, feels very tavern-y with the art, lighting and music. Fun idea and game :) Good job!

Art is good and good choice on the music!
Took me a while to realize I can't drag and drop heroes to the quests but have to right click first then left click to assign (is that not intended?).

I think you don't really have to add timers in this game at all, or at least no like testing my reading speed and reflexes. With more information provided/discoverable to the player, the player can make more informed choices and this will become a good strategy/management game. In any case, there is great potential in the idea.

I like this idea a lot. Dare I say it reminds me of "papers please" and something I wanted to explore for this jam. Nicely done! I wish that at least at the start of the game I would have more time to ease into the game as those quest go by so quickly while I'm still trying to understand what is what and the controls, be it simple, I fumble with them trying to assign people to quests and stuff at the start of the game. Once I got my bearings it was easy peasy lemon squeezy :D

Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed it.

The UI is super well done! Really cool idea and well executed game~ Congrats on submitting a super neat game to the jam!

Very fun idea. I wished I had that to train myself when playing MMO ^^
The overall design is very nice. And liked the fact that you see all dead characters when over.

The only critic that I can make is that it is quite hard to figure out what memeber should I assigned to a quest. Many died even in the first quests.

Developer

Thanks for playing and we appreciate the feedback. We experimented with both points based systems and probabilistic. However, showing the player if the quest succeeded removed a part of the anticipation. We definitely agree there should be a higher level of transparency concerning the success of a quest. For example, you get bonuses for class diversity but this is never explained in the game.

Thanks again for playing.

Really cool idea, nicely done!

Really interesting, gets chaotic real fast and remembering every trait is next to impossible later on. Fun to sink some time into, got 26 quests completed.

it does create the atmosphere - music and art! very nicely done!
