This was a fun and frantic little game that had me thinking of games like Papers, Please but with a medieval twist! I liked the idea of running a job agency in a tavern, the art and visuals were really cute and the game was very atmospheric, on top of the core gimmick of making teams of warriors who can get along. My one quibble is that my eyesight is really poor, so it was sometimes tough to make out the cards that were on the table because of the low lighting. Perhaps by either making the cards bigger while they're on the table and/or making the table area brighter (perhaps by bringing the light source in the bottom right corner towards more of the center of the area) would help in that regard. But otherwise this was a really fun game, great job!

By the way, we played your game on our stream tonight!

Super fun and really original concept! I think one novel thing to add would be a gold counter, and that the player get gold rewards when successfully completing quests. Then the gold could be used to buy equipment, or "hire" a mercenary for a hefty price to give the player an edge on tough quests. Overall, a very cool idea and well executed

Hi, thanks for the feedback! A reward system was on our list to eventually implement, but unfortunately the 48 hour limit meant we had to cut a few ideas.

I really like the idea of this game, it's strategic in a very unique way.  Consider removing the timed component of the quests, or maybe only add timed component to some important quests -- that way the player can enjoy all the details about the quests that are popping up

I really like this idea. Having only certain quests have timers, especially those towards the end would allow the players to ease more slowly into the steep learning curve of the game. Thanks for playing, we really appreciate the feedback.

I really enjoyed the manic Papers-Please-style trying to match heroes to quests effectively and quickly. It was a fun mechanic and felt pretty polished!

Really unique and interesting concept. I think my main problem is readability, the text on the cards is a bit small and the characters' portraits are too similar to each other. I hope you keep developing this after the jam, seems like the idea has potential!

Interesting idea, it was hard to create parties that didn't instantly die. I was getting better at it a little later, but by that point, I had killed the entirety of society. I also felt that quests went away too fast when you're waiting for a specific quester, but also, having a "send now" button would have been nice to send away a full party. Love the idea, just needs a few tweaks to get it right, good job!

Awesome concept but, as others have said, I didn't really feel like I was being given enough information to make meaningful decisions. I think having something like traditional 'stats' would make it easier for the player to form a baseline idea of how strong a party is, and then all the class combos and experimentation could instead be used to optimise a party for more difficult or boss fights - it would also give the player room to experiment and discover good combos naturally.

Also, I feel like being able to drag the papers onto the quests to assign the characters would be a bit more intuitive a control scheme, even just as an extra option - sliding around the papers is neat so might as well make the most of it!

I really dig the presentation and general vibe of what y'all are going for here though, great work!

Really cool concept, it does get quite tough at times and picking a choosing quests was something to get used to for sure! Awesome game and well done for getting in done in 48 hours! :D

Amazing idea! Like others have mentioned, the onboarding process a rough point, but the mechanics are great! Hope to see a post-jam version!

The game concept was really fantastic and the presentation was spot on! However the gameplay struggled due to the unclear game mechanics. I eventually understood how the game was meant to be played which then made it a lot more fun. This definitely has potential to be polished/expanded upon and released. More thoughts on the game can be found here:

As some others have said the gameplay is a biiit unclear at first but when you get it it feels great and the art is just flawless. A mediaeval "papers please"? Yes please! Sweet job!

Nice concept ! I would have loved to have some indication about "why a party was killed", to have a better understanding of the gameplay rules, but for a 48h jam, that was a really original, polished and cute game ! I can see this game going further with more content and mechanics, I would love to see that concept fully exploited !

Thanks you for giving us feedback. We wanted to add an element of uncertainty and problem solving when it comes to figuring out who works well together. We agree that in the beginning you get punished with no indication on how to rectify it. Some kind of party strength meter was planned but within the constraints of the jam had to be cut. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for playing our game.

Very fun concept. Just a little confusing, but maybe that's just me. Great job馃榿

The game is quite interesting to play. The game is quite fast paced and nice to play. There should definitely some way to remove characters, as they pile up and become a nuisance. I find the lighting also gets kind of dark as you progress. Very solid game, you should definitely expand on it!

Awesome short and  sweet game. Incredibly polished work with an interesting mechanic in the form of the traits. Trying not to get overwhelmed by all the applications is quite fun.

That look like our game! So I love the concept! I believe it can become a game :) Good job!

Nice concept and atmosphere. I wished it would be a little bit better readable. It's very dark somertimes. But cool Tavern feeling. Like it!

Incredible atmosphere and artwork. Complex enough to be challenging but simple enough to be fun. Congrats!
