How does your game fit the theme?
All the souls and the two worlds are joined together by chains literally. But more significantly, the actions made in the void will affect those of the real world indicating how the world of the living and that of the dead is joined together.

I really dig the art and the music sets a dark tone. The shadows scream Dont Starve. Overall this is very impressive for 48 hours.
Wow! The audio made me really immersed in the mysterious and creepy atmosphere (especially the chain sound). The graphics also felt really polished and I loved the story telling aspect. Overall this is a solid entry to the jam and I had fun playing. :)
The art style slapped me in the face when I just saw it (in a good way!), and the immersion is great. Definitely my favorite of the jam so far! I would really like to see this game expanded.
Definitely something we'll work on :D
very atmospheric and a little morbid but this game sets and atmosphere very well with its dark tones, good work
Yesss! We wanted to force the player to sacrifice some souls to save others. I think if we had a way to re-organise the line and make certain souls walk to certain place it would make more sense. Thank you so much for playing :D
Really great atmosphere in this game, art and music is amazing, great job
Love the settings and sound effect, although I'm not entirely sure what I did wrong I can't save anyone xD
Nice game. Graphics are really beautiful and the music matches as well. It is quite difficult to maneuver around the hands, and there is a bug in which your cursor stays off when the event comes up (so you can't click on either choice). But overall good game and I rated it well.
The locked cursor issue has been our main bug this jam, I'm sorry we couldnt fix it in time. But I'm glad you liked the game nonetheless!
Presentation is very impressive, art, music, etc are absolutely amazing and look better than many a commercial release. The concept is original, I have never seen anything like this for me. But the sticking point for me is the gameplay. I'm not really sure how I prevent these guys from getting caught? You have minimal control over them, I don't think the light stops the hands, etc. Bit confusing, would have helped greatly if this was explained somewhere. But overall, very very impressive, supremely polished.
We'll definitely develop the gameplay further in the future. We sadly just ran out of time to test and had to accept that the souls are just going to get caught sometimes. The idea is that the player could sacrifice some of the souls to make the journey easier for the rest by clearing the path a bit. It was a more nuanced moral thing that we didnt explain well at all. But we'll work on it!
Thank you so much for the review, it means a lot to get feedback from other devs :D
Hope this team remains together, there's some real talent here :)
Amazing atmosphere, the art style and the music really fit together well!
I quite like it, it felt a little bit eerie (in a good way), and man, the visuals were super, super good! I'm not really used to reviewing games, but, especially since this was apparently done in 48 hours or less, it felt quite necessary to give you some props man. Great job!
Unfortunately i seem to keep running into that indexing error bug thingy that is mentioned in another comment.
That said: the vibe of this game is... awe inducing. really nice!
To be honest, in testing I didnt have enough time to uncover the indexing error as consistently as some are able to replicate it. I think its only one specific index in the line that causes it. You're able to complete the level regardless, even if the souls are softlocked.
Great atmosphere building and I loved the sombre story that played out, a slight shame that some of the text triggers at the wrong time but hay it is a game jam game. great use of lighting really emotive
Feels like a AAA movie, it's very cinematic, sets the mood well, fantastic!
This is an extremely unique take on the theme, and damn the visuals look really stylistic and just pleasing to the eye in general. You established a really good atmosphere here, and the music goes perfectly with the artwork. You had some good use of sound effects, and the animations were really well done.
I did have one problem though where I thought I got softlocked because one soul was taken and the others didn't move at all, so I could only close and reopen the game. You might also want to consider making some sort of tutorial level that would walk you through the game's mechanics instead of memorizing text on the title screen (I thought the hands were just part of the environment haha).
All in all this is a really stylish submission and a good take on the theme. Great job!
Thank you so much for the feedback! In the future we'll iron out the bugs and get everything working properly :D Including the inclusion of a proper tutorial etc. The softlocking is an indexing issue that I now have a fix for but sadly cant upload. If we had more time I reckon testing would have improved its playability, but nonetheless we're happy that you liked it!
I loved the atmosphere in this game. Getting Blasphemous vibes for some reason. In terms of gameplay it was a bit slow and difficult for me, but i still enjoyed it!
Amazing ambiance! Pretty hard game (atleast for me)
The difficulty was intentional. We wanted it to seem inevitable that souls would be lost. I'm glad you liked it!
I see, very nice!
A really good game, great ambience, nice set up, and I just love games about death ;_;
I love the ambiance, the sounds of the clicking chains, the heavy atmospheric music. the lights..., It's really well done !
I like the idea. It's sad to hear that you ran out of time to put in the game mechanics: as of now, we don't have all that much ability to prevent our charges from being grabbed by the endless void. That's fine if that's what you're going for, inevitability is common enough as a game theme especially with the reaper.
Music, the footsteps, and the clinking chains are very substantial for the game's ambiance. The moral choice at the end would have more weight if there were more of them: 3-4 days telling the narrative journey of this here reaper would tell a better story, kind of like a visual novel
It's decent. I enjoyed it.
You're feedback is almost identical to what we had planned. We wanted the story to have more gravitas through longer narration but due to the time constraints we had to settle for only 3 days. Thank you for playing and your rating is appreciated to no end <3
