How does your game fit the theme?
The game fits in how the Orbit/Player mechanic works. When the player is in orbit, they are able to control the direction they go.
Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 48 hours?
No
We used pre-existing art
Did your team create the vast majority of the music during the 48 hours?
Yes
We created the vast majority of the music during the game jam

this is a fun and mellow time. i could see this becoming a full game. my only suggestion, maybe have a whole level that is just planets. the swing system you have in this project is so much fun. great work
Thanks! I definitely would love to work on making this a whole game with different game modes, including a free-play type mode! I’m glad that I nailed the elusive fun factor with the orbit mechanic! Thanks for the feedback!
I really love the music for this game and floating through low gravity feels really nice. As other commenters have said a restart button would be a really good addition. Possibly you could add some more maps with different mechanics if you wanted to take it further. Good work though!
Thanks! Yea, I wanted to add a restart button, but there was a huge bug with it so I opted to get rid of the button all together instead of having a broken button. I have since fixed the bug, and when I update the game after the jam, it will have that! I'm glad you liked the game! :D
This game is sooo cute! The music is nice and relaxing, and the gameplay is simple yet fun to play around with. Being the type who likes to optimize/minmax games I've lost count of the number of attempts I put in trying to get the highest score possible! Perhaps I got a teeeeensy bit addicted :D
Thanks! I'm really glad that you liked it! What's your high score so far? (I am sure you already know, but reaching the space ship several times is definitely key to getting a higher score lol!)
Hehe this is very cute. Everything seems polished. Not a fan of the UI though, but the game got me hooked. Spent good minutes trying to break the highscores but it's very difficult especially once you already fall to the bottom along with having limited time. A restart button would be a nice implementation btw. I'm not sure if the score screen stays forever but I had to refresh my browser every time I want to restart the game. The idea is creative, the music and the art fits perfectly, almost a relaxing experience for me. Perhaps if there's a freeplay mode or and objective rather than collecting points within time limit, I think I would spend my free time playing this cute game. Like others have said, it's quite meditative. Good job.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm really glad you liked it! What part of the UI did you not like? I'm working on a post-jam update for this game so I'll keep that in mind! I am really glad you liked it and found it relaxing/meditative! There was a game-breaking bug that prevented the play again button from working, so I nixed it for the jam. However, I have since fixed it and will put that in the post-jam update! I am also toying with the idea of having a free-play mode or other game modes for the future! Thanks again for the feedback! I greatly appreciate it! :D
That's good to know! For the UI, actually it fits with the overall theme. Although, the tutorial text is kind of too basic. Perhaps (just a suggestion) a dialog box from the character telling you how to play + close button for the text would be a nice touch. Other than that, the timer, maybe change the color to red when it reached 10 seconds? These are just suggestions, you may have a better one or stay with what you have ^^
Nice idea and implementation. But the coolest thing about this game is the music. Music has a meditative and relaxing vibe, in which program did you do it?
Thanks! I’m glad you liked the game and music! I made the music using Ableton!
Nice job! I enjoyed hopping in a planet's orbit and timing the jump out.
Thanks for the feedback!
Presentation (art/music/intuitiveness) is really fantastic. I think the theme connection is probably a little weaker than ideal, because the orbit mechanics are really finnicky and hard to predict, meaning for the most part I was trying to avoid getting caught rather than trying to tactically use the orbit to gather points. I think this would have been a lot more fun if the game was less generous (perhaps less available points, more penalty for falling down, etc) to encourage the player to use the orbit.
Thanks for the feedback! Yea, this is my first time trying a mechanic like this, so there are definitely some kinks I need to iron out lol! I'll see what I can do to make the orbit mechanic more useful!
You're definitely done a good job - rotation is always several thousand times more painful than it has any right to be
Cool game, needs a bit more motivation though
Thanks for trying the game out! I really appreciate it! Do you think you could expound on what you mean? I am really grateful for your feedback and want to make sure I get what you are referring to!
just another goal other than a points system, maybe add a story
Ah, I see! Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely keep that in mind as I work on the update for the game!
Super cute. Racing to the ship and learning it's timing is key. I was bad at it lol. Great work!
Thanks!
Fun game! A fun addition might be collectible additional time, so you'd have to decide between picking direct score or more time to come back later :)
Yea, I think it would be really cool to add additional time! I will have to add that to the list of things to add to the game! Thanks for the suggestion! I'm glad you liked the game!
An interesting mechanic, followed up by really cool music and art, but I felt like the graphics between the player and their ship did not match up with the art style of the planets, so that might be something to look at (just nitpicking). Pretty fun game nonetheless, good job!
An interesting concept and a great menu with some hilarious fun getting flung around on the giant planets. Though extra physics from the planets would definitely be awesome to help with jumping around at weird angles and such. The ship looks cool, but it kinda scares me it looks like an angler fish ready to eat my character, and based off the fact that I disappear upon hitting. I think it does.
The extra speed and orbit switching are some cool mechanics though. The jump feels really floaty but that also makes sense for the setting, I feel like when you jump off the planets it loses a lot of that though? Which is a bit weird.
Overall though, a cool game just more physics!!!
cool game! that's a nice idea about reversing the planets' orbits! maybe you can develop this game even more after jam is over, maybe it would be even nicer:)
Thanks, I am glad you liked it! I am definitely working on a post-jam update for the game and would love to continue working on this!
Really clever take on the theme, I like it!
820 points was my highest score
Sweet! Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! :D I'll add that to the score list!
I love everything about it! The art, music, and gameplay is really awesome!
Thanks! I am glad you liked it! :D
This is a great concept! I agree with a lot of what mvn said, the jump isn't affected much by the orbit, but the planet gravity works really well! I'd love to see what you would do with it if you worked more on it!
Thanks! Yea, something about Construct 3's physics engine just confuses me, and I've only been using the engine for a few weeks, so I decided to play into the way the player would drop off, instead of trying to fight it lol. I am glad you enjoyed it, and I would love to work on it more!
This is a good one. I didn't understand the mechanic when I first played it, but when I did I really enjoyed it.
One critique I have is that the planet orbits don't have that much of an effect on movement, and I really would like to have them be more physics-based (by that I mean they can fling you instead of just dropping you).
Thanks! Yea, I get that it can be confusing. I tried to explain it in the menu and make it easy to follow, but I can see how it would be confusing at first! During the game dev process, I tried to get the jumps to act as one would expect, but Construct 3 just wasn't having it, and that was earlier in the process and I had a lot left that needed to be done, so instead of fighting the odd physics, I went with it and played into it a bit more. Thanks for the feedback! I am glad you enjoyed it!
Enjoyed this one. Finicky at first, but I got the hang of it eventually. Was fun making a dash in the last few seconds to get those final few gems to get over 1000 points. The music & sound was all great too Great job!!
Thanks! I'm glad you had fun!
Really nice one!
Thanks!
the music was really cute! got a bit stuck in some planets but it was fun over all!
Thanks!
