How does your game fit the theme?
You don't control the character, but are tinkering with a mechanism that supports them. Your role becomes just a supporting one for an adventurer.

Really liked this concept, it was super-fun! Unfortunately the game kept freezing after a few rounds and I had to refresh the browser.

I didn't read the tutorial, it was too much text. I think it would be more approachable if you made the tutorial a part of the gameplay.

I could definitely see myself playing this in the future though. Great idea!

Great concept that can easily turn into a fast paced roguelike with a constant stream of bombarding information.

Just some thoughts if it were to be developed further.

As the time goes, the effects can become more and more complex, like the ones with trade offs.

I think every once in a while, e.g. after a boss fight, the game can pause for a while for the player to reflect upon their own synergy and see how far they have gone.

A very complete and enjoyable game. The retro art style is also very suitable for Gamejam. There is one bug: if two identical word entries appear at the same time, they will be selected simultaneously.

Submitted(+1)

Thought that was a feature. And when you select two identical word entries, they stack on each other.

It is a bug. The code was so spaghettied by the end that fixing the bug was not worth it compared to other tasks. :D

Very interesting Idea. The game froze in both my Chrome and Brave browser for some reason, but I really liked the idea overall. Good job!

Cool idea!

Cool idea where you get to chose the effects of the loot the adventurer gets, although my game kept crashing which was a bit annoying

Great game! Love this entry :D

Great concept, great presentation!

This definitely fits the theme of roles reversed! Great job :)

I enjoyed this unique take on the theme. While the lack of audio was a bit jarring and the beginning isn't exactly clear (the buffs I selected didn't appear at the top left), once you're further in it starts making more sense. The art was simple yet fitting, and I had no issues with crashes at all.

Original idea and great execution. Good job man!

This is really cool! I keep running into crashing tho :(

Cool idea, I like modifying the knight buffs as a game mechanic. Had some trouble figuring out exactly what I was doing at the beginning, the enemies come fast and the buffs appear and disappear quickly. Got into a groove for a bit once I got a massive dodge percent though. Great fun till the crash, MY KNIGHT!

Developer(+1)

The saddest part of the crashes are all the lost knights. This will be remedied in the post-jam version once voting ends!

It's an interesting idea! Could really do with more music and sound effects though

This is a very fun and unique game. I liked how this game required strategy, but it was also fast paced so all decisions you made had to be quick on the spot. Only issue is that the game crashes quite often, but it's not really that bad since the game reloads really quickly. Great game!

It takes a bit to get into it but is really solid afterwards. Also it somehow managed to crash twice but I wont complain about bugs on a game jam game.

Very creative and unique!

Hard to understand at first but after it was fun :)

I LOVE the creativity! This could be a fleshed-out game, definitely.

The game crashed for me a few times, but that's all. Awesome job.

Interesting idea, always keen to see any developments in the gameplay-around-combat kinda area.

UI is very readable and easy to understand, great use of font size and positioning to assist the player.

My game seemed to crash after a bit, but I can see there's a few reports of this; would be great to see what lies further in without the crash!
