Holy sh---

Wery well put togheter! The graphics and overall ambience is top notch!

I believe this is what a PETA game would look like if peta games were actually good :)

Awesome entry, congratulations!

This is a strange experiment. I also found it weird that you created the game in almost 24 hours.

I feel like you didn't communicate the fat level or how to change it inside the game. Reading the description helped, but this is not how I would prefer things.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Exactly, almost didnt sleep from friday to saturday cause sunday I would be busy.

I tried to give subtle hints about the gameplay, like the icons next to the percentage meter (dead cow on the left, butcher knife on the right), also subtle hints on the existance of the grass eating mechanic, like when an npc eats, theres a very clear progress bar and you spawn neat an npc eating.
I chose to “teach” the game in a subtle way because thats how I like games to teach me how to play (instead of huge chunks of text or dialog), but I found out this isnt for everyone. Thanks for playing tho!

I understand that different people have different preferences, so I'm sharing my opinion since I don't have another one))

Developer

Thank you so so much for sharing! Im really glad you played! I think its important that you share because then I know how many people struggled to understand the game as is, and I try to improve it, maybe highlighting the grass as someone commented, and stuff like that.

Submitted(+1)

You could explain it in a 5-second intro cutscene))

  • A 50% meter at the top.
  • Two arrows to two different outcomes (fat or skinny)
  • Butcher-cow at the bottom with two arrows from the previous states

This could even go to the game over screen

that cows gonna haunt me in my nightmares haha. That legit scared me. At some point i thought if I got my percentage high enough I could start looking for a way to escape, but that angered the moo man...so i ran...and then i wanderedin in the wast staying in the safe zone food wise...until finally i made a brake for it...there was no exit, and i was low on food, and then he appeared...The Moo was on the horizon and i ran frantically trying to find food as the moo gave chase, and eventually caught me.

pretty fun game, super weird. I think mechanically the game is sound, my feedback is that it would be good if the eatable items were highlighted when you are near them to inidicate that you can eat them. I presentation wise, you nailed it, the vibe is creepy, and everything that needs a sound has one. Nice work, I had fun.

Developer

mooo! thank you so much for the tips and review, I loved the idea of highlighting grass, many people commented they didnt understand that you had to eat grass, and a highlight would help in this matter very much, ita an amazing idea!

I was going to ask. "Man, why do cows look like humans?" Then I understand the idea of the game xd. It is as funny as shady! I love the atmosphere too

Woah this was scary. Love it and found the two endings :)

Developer

thank you for playing all the way to the endings :D moooo

Submitted(+1)

This game is actually terrifying, why did you create such a scary game bro

(It's also fun trying not to die and casually cursing fellow grass-eating humans, nice job)

Developer(+1)

There’s actually a reason: to make you feel like a cow (they probably think we’re terrifying for turning them into burgers)

Submitted(+1)

Good point

Submitted(+1)

This cow is so terrifying! Game feels like a horror. Great atmosphere, well done!

Submitted(+1)

Very surreal. If you expanded on it and turned it into a full horror I think it would be really fun. Great job!

Developer

mooo (thank you so much!)

Submitted(+1)

This was very surreal... it reminded me a lot of squirrel stapler with the absurdity and art style. The cow coming for you was far more terrifying than it should have been. I was able to reach all the endings (good and bad). My only complaint is that the ending black away is rather quick, so sometimes you can't read all the dialogue, but other than that I didn't encounter any problems. I really liked the atmosphere and freaky graphics.

Developer

mooo! thank you so much!! I agree, the blacking screen was the best way I found to implement endings that didnt take too much time. 48h were rough

Submitted(+1)

The atmosphere of the game is great! The pixelated art is good and adds to the goofyness. It was fun playing through it.
