How does your game fit the theme?
It's a tower defense game in which the defaces are generated randomly and the player must work through them to destroy the tower, instead of the player building the defaces.

quite like it but missing some important player feedback especially when damaging the statue, just removeing some small blue dots it not really noticable. nice graphics btw

Developer

Thank you, I agree there should be a more obvious damage animation when the player hits the statue. There is currently an audio sound effect but it does not always play for some reason, so that is something I need to work on for future games. Thank you for the feedback and for playing my game(:

Neat game. You should remove the blue fullscreen button if you can because it crops the game weirdly

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you, i did not notice the cropping. Thank you again(:

Nicely done! Worth refining and expanding on. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you(:

Nice concept and a good difficulty curve. I like how the statue's health was integrated into the sprite, rather than just being a health bar.

I think a dodge mechanic would be a nice addition. I got stuck between two lasers(?) and lost all 3 hearts very quickly, so some way to escape from that would be good.

Nice work!

Developer

Thank you,   Definitely a dodge mechanic could 100% fit in well with the dodging of the  lazars and make it more far. Thank you for playing my game(:

I enjoyed the concept and it played like some sort of bullet hell game. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you. Yes, bullet hell was the intention I really wanted to make something in that style for a while so this was a good excuse. Thank again(:

Nice idea! I enjoyed the mechanics of the game! Well done and you amazing pixel art!

Developer

Thank you(:

Woah! We kind of made the same game... A reverse Tower Defense with goblin attackers!

I think an HP bar for the statue would be a nice addition. and it would be cool if you had dodge attacks while attacking. Maybe I just got lucky, but once I made my way to the statue there was no real danger to me and I could keep spamming my attack.

Cool game. Good job!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you. Ya, sometimes the turrets can spawn in a way that you just get to hit the statue,  especially on early waves. A system where the spawn locations are waited and the ones that pose a higher threat to the play have a higher chance of being chosen could have made the game better.  The text on the statue was meant to serve ad it’s heath-bar, but it is not the most visible I should have given them a glow effect to draw the player's eye to them more. It is cool that we made a similler game I am gonna check your out when I get some time. Thank you again(:

Neat idea! The only thing that seemed strange was how the guns would be shooting towards the tower; you'd think that in a reverse tower defence they would be shooting in the other direction.

Developer

Thank you. I agree. I had that shooting away from the tower at first, but with the way I did the spawning they would sometimes overlap with the tower, and I did not realize until I was almost out of time so I just had them spawn mostly on the other side to get the game working in time(: Thanks again

Great start for a game! I would have liked to see some more visual feedback when getting damaged or when damaging an item, but great work for 48 hours!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you, I agree more visual feedback would help a lot. Thank you again.

I like the art style as well as the quite original sound design. I had no idea what to do tough. Are you supposed to attack the statue of the lady? Or maybe the things that shoots the beams/bullets? I think that the player's target should be marked somehow like with glow or a health bar above. Overall I like your take on the theme.

Developer(+1)

Thank you (: The goal of the game is to attack the statue. Hit it 3 times to move to the next wave, it’s up is marked by the glowing “text” on the statue. I agree the goal of the game should be more clearly show. I should have made the statue more “bold” as the goal and directed the player to it more. Thank you for playing my game(:

Nice work! It's a little hard to figure out what's going on at first so perhaps adding an interactive tutorial would help ease the player a bit more into the game :)

Developer

Thanks. I agree some type of tutorial would defiantly  help. Thank your for playing my game(:

Pretty cool concept! Was difficult getting to wave 9 because of all the random placement making it difficult not to get hit, and sometimes I would need to wait for a minute for the tongues to align. The shooting towers didn't make it much more difficult. Of course, the Art could be worked on, but I recommend making the towers shoot in the direction of the player, while the froggies shoot in random directions, for some extra chaos and less waiting in place! :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing my game and for the feedback. I did not think of having the bullet enemies shoot towards the player, that is a fantastic idea. And having  the”frog” enemies go in random direction is pure genius that would definitely make the game more fun and fast passed. Thank you again for the feedback.

Ps,Your perfume shop  game is so much fun and vary polished, fantastic work.

Interesting idea, but the game doesn't feel right. More detail on that:
The player sprite used is from side view, while the game is top down. Hence, the player can only attack left and right, and in the context of the layout of the map, only right. This means the real challenge is to position yourself in such a way to be able to hit the statue, while not being hit by the towers.
In short, there is a mismatch between the graphics and the mechanics, which leads to artifficial difficulty, and that's rarely fun.

Developer

Thank you so much for the feed back, I new something looked off with the player sprite but I could not place what it was, and of course the turrets look terrible as well.  I  definitely  need to work on my pixel art skills for next year so I don’t need to rely on any sprites I can find online. Thank you again(:

Pretty messy, didn`t get the idea

Developer(+1)

I agree. The art work and the game theme clash fairly hard and make it vary messy. I would greatly  appreciate your feedback on any other parts of the game besides for the sprites that made it hard to follow.

Good work, I got to wave 7!

Developer

Great job, my max was wave 6.  Thank you for taking the time to play my game(:

doesnt look like reverse tower defense

Developer

That is fair. My execution of my idea was fairly poor. I need to get more practice and make some more games. To my understanding the main issue is art, but also the world design does not really fit with the reverse tower defense theme that well. Thank you for your feedback.
