Brilliant game! I love the core mechanic, the music, sounds, art style, it's all great! I must stay I slightly struggled to grasp jumping with the hammer, but whenever it clicks it is very satisfying! Great work.

The gameplay and hammer physics actually feels nice. I was confused at the beginning regarding the controls but after a while I got used to them. Killing enemies is quite satisfying! Overall cool concept
Can't quite get the hang of the controls. Love the concept though, and I chuckled every time I died! Good work!
I really loved playing your game ! A little too hard for me, but if I had a little more time I would definitely try to beat it quicker.
Everything rocks in this game. Controls, creativity, art, game design, level design.
Nice, nice, nice !
Had a blast playing your game ! the movements mechanic with the hammer is very fun and clever. Just a little too hard to take a good hand at it, but at the same time it feels rewarding when you nail your movement.
Definitely wish there was more levels to go trough
Saw your game from Ategon’s stream!
Really like your game, the movement is quite unique, something like getting over it and celeste combined. Art was very good too!
Sadly I wasn’t skilled enough to reach the end. Was able to reach the end part some times but gained too much energy and died at the end :(
We have just published a post jam version that includes reduced difficulty on the final checkpoint if you would like to try it out!
Thanks for playing our game!
Hey, I don’t think it’s allowed to post a link to a new build before the ratings are over? It’s the same as uploading a new build to itch directly (which isn’t allowed, even for people with game-breaking bugs).
Well, ignoring that, I think it’s ok to keep the current difficulty. Seeing the leaderboard and the comments, it seems like a lot of people were able to reach the end. Felt like the new build was a bit too easy haha. Sometimes challenge is good. Like Getting Over It (maybe not a good example cos it’s a rage game but u get my point) didn’t change the map because a lot of people gave up.
Or maybe if you want to make a easier for weaker players (like me haha), make a separate easy mode, with a separate leaderboard? Playing the post-jam version with this leaderboard feels like cheating lol.
Still think your game is quite good! Keep it up!
Thanks for your feedback!
The original intention was always to make the game easy to complete. But difficult to get a good time on. So maybe if you want the extra challenge try going for a higher time? Still though, your feedback is still valid.
Also, I did specifically tell people not to rate based on the post jam build. Hopefully that is alright.
Very polished, extremely juicy, on point with the theme.
Very cool mechanics. The hammer jump was difficult to understand but when I understood it was cool to use.
This feels similar to RAGDOLF from last year's jam but with the twist being you have a time limit and you need to hit enemies.
The art and audio is good.
Launching yourself with your hammer didn't feel responsive. I would like a better way to control my direction and velocity.
I don't like how you have overlapped input for attacking, swinging, and launching your character. Often I would try to launch myself over a gap, but hold the mouse button slightly too long and end up doing a hammer multi-attack instead. One button for launch would be ideal. Remove the hold down mechanic completely if you want the player to focus on swinging the hammer to jump.
Really good game, the idea its fun , the art and music its well done.
Sorry that you found it to be difficult! If you "double-tap" R to restart, you will be reset back to the beginning of the game as an intentional feature for speedrunners, but they should work other than that.
The drifting on platforms is also intentional; you're really meant to "bunny hop" off of those to go straight past them. You actually have much more time to input a jump than you think because the inputs are buffered.
Thanks so much for trying the game and sharing your honest feedback!
came here because of the dark souls reference (maybe not intentional) and stayed because of the awesome gameplay. It’s super cool that you have implemented a leaderboard! that gave me the motivation to beat my mark :) really good job!
You, great design and inputs! The power of the hammer feels real! But... It's missing a dragon, if you know what I mean :)
super cool movement although the inconsistency is frustrating (especially at the part where you bunny hop across the platforms)
I think the game is very challenging, but in a good way! This is probably the most creative take on the theme I've seen so far. Absolutely insane!
