A fun one - I really liked the parallax scrolling of the background and the visual effects combined nicely to give the impression of falling very convincingly.

I definitely did not make it onto the leaderboard as I found the scaling mechanic a little tough to use and it felt like there were a few too many enemies too quickly - the screen was overrun!

Anyway, the graphics are beautiful and I did enjoy the gameplay (despite not being good at it). Great work!

That was interesting! The story and setting are charming, and the concept has potential. The difficulty is a bit imbalanced, but it's not frustrating.

The artwork is a bit busy. The tutorial level is okay-ish; the plainer background is easier to distinguish from game objects (although the stones look very similar to the walls). However, the main level's background is quite busy, and it blends many of the items together.

All-in-all, good work!

[EDIT: 8-21]: Oh! I almost forgot: the coin sounds can stack on top of each other quite quickly, causing a harsh audio peak.

Woah I loved the art direction of your game! I felt like the X key wasn’t the best choice for shrinking as I felt like it was hard to press when I was controlling the character.

The shrinking mechanic was added last minute. At the time, X seemed like a good key choice. Is there a better one that you would suggest? I also find it difficult to press. The game is also compatible with game controllers and feels great that way, if you wanted to give that a shot. Thank you for your kind words and creative feedback. We're going to work on the enemies a little more after the jam is over.

In my game I used Q to shrink and E to grow larger. I thought they were good options since its close to the WASD keys. Shift can be another good option

Visually looks pretty good and the gamplay feels unique! but there was a bit to much going on at times and i lost my charackter.

Unfortunately you can cheese the leaderboard by rushing to all the coins while taking damage as you only lose 1 coin each time. (see leaderboard haha) However, an easy fix for this could be a small stun delay where you can't smack when hit. Agree with the others here that the background foreground separation can be a little bit hard to see, but all in all I really like the game! The style is top notch, the music is chefs kiss!! (nice to see reaper being metioned :). I think with a small tweaks this could be a nice and addictive game. The story panels are great and I see you guys enjoyed this game jam.

The music, the art style, the gameplay- all fantastic!

Took me a good while to get into top three (Don't know how long till someone else steals my spot)

Only problem I has was sometimes I would lose the where the player is. Adding a white outline or something similar would aid him to stand out from the rest of the game.

I loved the style on this game, and it was a lot of fun to play, but the screen sure gets chaotic with all the floating objects. I liked that you were able to get a leaderboard in there, some people have really acquired a lot of coins!

Love the pixel art! The controls feel immersive and I can tell a lot of time went into getting the movement to actually feel like the character was falling at a really high speed. I didn't get a lot of mileage out of the shrink mechanic and I think the enemies/level could have better interacted with that system rather than just feeling like random obstacles that I couldn't really do anything about. I would've also loved to see a way to spend coins for an upgrade system to better incentivize progression. Really nice job overall and I'm excited to see where this goes!

Thank you for the creative feedback! There is more that we want to implement in the game. We discussed adding a store to spend the gold, but we were restricted on time. Since our little kobold friend is taking the gold to his dragon, maybe we can add a way to improve him that way for a story mode in the future!

Awesome artstyle, UI is cohesive and responsive to player position, parallax looks neat. This definitely has style. I loved it!

Really good looking! I liked the art and the mechanic is something new, unfortunately I couldn't differentiate the enemies from the background sometimes and lost many coins

We tried to maintain a consistent art style on a limited color palette. So, some of the enemies share colors with the background, making them hard to find. With continued support, we will refine the art and gameplay. Thank you for playing!
