Sorry for spamming the leaderboard, I just had to take first place on the chaotic mode haha. I really enjoyed this, it felt like each time I died it was because I made a mistake. The only feedback I have is that the controls sometimes feel unresponsive because the input you just gave doesn't seem to go through. If you could fix that I'd love to see this on Steam as a true test of one's coordination. Really well done. Very unique take on the theme too!!

Developer(+1)

Spam away! The more scores for people to beat the better haha. The controls will be changed the day after the jam and we are hard at work trying to fix the unresponsive input. Sadly we know the issue but fixing it is another beast! Thanks so much for your feedback!

Submitted

The art style is very nice and the concept for the game is promising. However I feel the controls were not very intuitive which made it hard to play, also they were unresponsive at times. If these issues were ironed out I could see myself having a lot of fun with this!

Developer

Thank you so much! I am planning on updating the game soon after the jam

Submitted

Great job with the visuals, went crazy. I wish I was good at these type of games tho lol

Developer

Thanks! It is quite hard haha

Submitted

how do i play? pls anser so i can rate, it seems very cool

Developer

I have my left index and middle finger on Q and E. Right index and middle on I and P. Then thumbs on V and Space

Submitted

ill try it out, thx

Really good concept for a rythme game and nice visuals!

The inputs weren't very responsive a find the game a little too hard, but other that I had a really good time, good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

I DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH HANDS FOR THIS SH-T!

Great aesthetic, very challenging but in a way that makes you want to have one more go. There was a little bit lag in places when changing shape which was jarring but not game breaking. Would love to see this worked on, and incorporate more of an audio rhythm element (perhaps a stronger beat or some other visuals moving to the beat).

Developer(+1)

Grow more hands then c'mon now!

I agree that the controls are a bit weird (just like in my own game although I'll fix it after the jam), and I couldn't get used to them, but from what I could understand, the game would be very fun if I figured out the controls.

Submitted

The presentation is amazing! The idea is great. But honestly I just couldn't get used to the controls. Perhaps I did not understand correctly how to play it. Still one of the best looking games of the jam.

Developer

Thank you so much! Really regretting changing the controls the night before haha, lesson learned

Submitted

Perhaps its a job for the ever elusive post-jam version XD

Developer

Thanks so much! Im glad you liked the style

I like it.  reminds me of those classic flash games "run" and "bloxorz" from back in the day.  the visual effects are pretty overwhelming and the controls feel like I'm using vi for the first time again, but it is a pretty unique and inspired take on the scaling theme.

Developer

Thanks! Bloxorz was absolutely an inspiration. I guess a vfx toggle could have been a good idea. Ive seen some other games with it

Submitted

Such a polished game, well done! I found the controls a little difficult, but a lot of fun nonetheless :)

Developer(+1)

These controls are going to haunt me haha, Thanks for the kind words!

Submitted

it felt a bit too qwoppy in the controls side for my taste… I see from other comments that wad + shift was an idea before, that would have worked so much better for my brain, but that’s probably variable from person to person

cool concept, love all the chromatic aberration going on, love me some good shader work

my main wish in terms of improvements:

  • give me a quick restart button, I’d be infinitely more inclined to try to get a good score if I could just immediately restart without going through all the animations and loading screens
Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I think I will touch some stuff up after the jam (As most people say and never do so we'll see!)

Submitted

A very interesting idea! The controls felt like they could use some improvement/simplification to really get the chaos going full speed! Great visuals too.

Developer

Thanks so much! We originally had just w,a,d. Then shift did the reverse of each of them. I wish i put an option to try both

Submitted

It's no issue at all! Game jams are about working stuff out and flinging it out there for everyone to check it out!

Submitted

this is an interesting take on it! its interesting seeing the way the cube scales and having to maneuver smartly to not land in the holes

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Got second on the leaderboard in chaotic mode! Game looks well lush. Reminds me of the PS1 game Intelligent Qube but with a major graphical update. Love the little eyeball character. Not sure how to have my fingers on all the keys you're supposed to use at once though...

Developer(+1)

Great job! Once your fingers are in the right place hopefully it feels natural but yea, definitely a bit of a struggle

Submitted

What a visual delight! The UI and game environment look and sound great, well done all! However I had a really hard time with the controls, kept accidentally placing my fingers wrong and then dying to obstacles. But the core idea has a lot of promise, and the whole experience feels really well put together!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! Nailing down good controls was definitely a really hard challenge for us. I hoped that once your fingers are in place they don't have to move and it can become muscle memory but even I struggle with the controls

Submitted

The idea is very clever ! However i struggled with the inputs and my brain froze haha (idk if it was because i'm in azerty, but i switched in qwerty). Despite that the art is very cool and it's a good game !!

Developer(+1)

I can imagine azerty would make it very confusing! Thanks for making the switch to give it a real go!

Love the art. Visuals and music was really good. Controls were difficult. I would  keep it with WASD and Space. Adding blocks with WASD and reducing them with Space+WASD may worked. It's whole great game anyway. I appreciate your approach to concept of jam. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Definitely very difficult, I struggle as well!

Submitted

LOVE an easy mode! Tutorial was great help, music was cool, and the visuals were funky. Cosmic weirdness all the way. Well done

Developer

Thank you! Glad you liked it : )

Submitted

I love how there's two difficulties! (I had to choose the peaceful one cuz im bad) The controls were difficult but the learn button made things easier and fun to play once I mastered. Good work!

Developer

Thank you! When the controls finally came together it was way more difficult than it was in my head 4 days ago. But that's how it goes! Thanks for playing!

Submitted (1 edit)

Love the style of the game! Though I'm not entirely sure how the controls work? Would love a bit more text explaining how it works. But otherwise, great style, great sound, well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I was trying to keep it along the cryptic and minimal style so that's why I didn't have a bunch of text explaining how to play in the description.
