I loved the game, the gameplay, sounds, music, graphics, it all fits together very nicely. At first, I thought of stopping playing because the first upgrade took a while to find, but after that, it was a fun ride until the end.
The idea for this game reminds me a lot of Deepest Sword, where each upgrade for your weapon unlocks new areas, but the size difference locks older ones. It was a lot of fun!

thank you very much im glad you stuck through the start!

Developer

Thank you very much!! We appreciate the kind words and the feedback. :D
I'm glad you didn't stop, we definitely made that part too long and/or confusing. :)

Yeah people have told us about Deepest Sword, it looks really cool and is indeed a similar concept!
Thanks for playing! ^_^

Visuals are amazing! The very fast jump animation made it difficult to get through some of the smaller passageways, and there was a frustrating amount of backtracking at the start of the game to find a path I could actually get through with my smol gun.  Think with a bit more polish you'll have something good tho :)

Haha, the ending is awesome! Just like the game itself.

Tysm!! Happy you got all the way through :D

Visuals are great and unique idea! The stage is a little bare but still very fun!

Developer

Ty!!! That's valid feedback, we'll work on that after the jam voting ends :)

I loved the firing vfx!

Developer

Ty!!! I actually made most of them by recycling the animation I made for crystals being looted haha :D

"What have you enjoyed in this game the most?" (Me:) "Yes."

Seriously though, besides a few spots where the jumping wasn't working even if I had the space to do so, it was amazing x)

Love the detail of the little Skaleton Guy just being squished by the gun as it gets bigger 🤌

Developer(+1)

Tysm!! Really happy you enjoyed it and sorry for the  jumping not working consistently when you're on a ledge :')

The art is incredible, especially for a 4 day jam :) I love the way the levels match up and the harmony of the gun as you fire is really satisfying. Great platformer!

Thank you very much!! :D

Feels a tad empty, especially in the beginning. Level design, art and music are awesome!

The metroidvania genre is such an interesting decision for a game jam. I do wish the power up had been placed a little bit earlier. I think there was some really great puzzle design. Great job!

It would be awesome if you could rate my game too!

WOW! This take on metriodvania design is so cool. The pixel art and level design were so well done and the game felt very complete and the gun upgrades were very funny! Well DONE!!!

Developer

Thank you very much!

The level design is incredible! The fact that I managed to beat the game without getting stuck even once, despite having the worst orientation skills known to man is just mind blowing. The guns getting bigger and bigger is hilarious and I love how the guns look and feel. The puzzles are engaging, even though most of them limit to standing in a different spot to clear the way. Still, what shines here the brightest is the level design. Great game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much!! Really appreciate the kind words, and that you took the time to play and beat it :)
I'll make sure our level designer sees this! :D

Developer(+1)

wow that means a lot thank you for playing!

Superb level design. Pixelart is amazing too. Great job. The only issue I’ve found is sometimes the bullets not registering.

Developer

Thank you very much!!! Appreciate the kind words and the valid feedback, we're aware of that issue haha :')

Great platformer with interesting mechanics. Congrats to all involved.

At first I thought the jumps were too tight to turnaround and it took some time until I got the premise but MAAAAN. I started laughing so hard when I saw the second upgrade. Great work, loved the sound design of the bullets going to the music. My only critics is that there could be a little more in between screens... like some enemies or something to make the travel a little more challenging. That and that for some reason the bullets sometimes don't break blocks. Major major props.

Thank you very much!! Really appreciate the kind words and the feedback. ^_^

I love this metroidvania styled game, the art style and animation is superb! And the overall level design is great, I just wish the firing mechanics are a bit more polished. But great idea.
