Just missing those tiny bits of feedback but it's wonderfully done for the time that you guys had!
Ohhh we had some juice, but I'm always in town for more juice advice. What did you feel was missing?
Oh my goodness... So that's why the gorilla is so strong. Haha, I had a great time playing!
I'm glad someone read that ahahaha
Cute little game! Unfortunately I couldn't beat the gorilla but I like the potential of the game for sure. I think if the enemies had some kind of wind-up or animation cue before they attacked I would do a bit better. I also felt like filling the g bar up took too long. Perhaps a difficulty setting would help. Overall, great for the 96 hours!
This is great. I love the little bits of visual feedback. Amazing what a difference that can make in the game's feel. Nice!
Fun game, and nice take on the theme!
Simple and intuitive enough gameplay, easy to pick up on without extensive tutorial, especially during this game jam. Unique artstyle and it even has voiceovers! So professional for a jam game hahah. Enjoyed beating up my enemy, keep it up. :)
Quite enjoyable, but i think the monkey is a bit tanky
This is unfortunately due to our esteemed voice actor, Maneatstaco. He did great as the announcer but once we asked him to do the gorilla his tone became very serious and he said "I promised never again...but for this game I'll do it".
He became very method, insisting on only eating the diet of the Eastern Gorilla, importing thousands of dollars worth of leaves from the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. I went to collect the audio files from his house and he was on his knuckles on the ground, creating the motion capture you see in the game. I dared not look into his eyes or he would think it was a territorial dispute.
We noticed once I put the audio files in that the gorilla became much more difficult. I asked him if he tampered with the file in such a way that it altered the code and he just did his grunts. He then acted like he was gaining the ability to speak (basically mimicking Caesar in Planet of the Apes) and said "KAH...NAUT....BE...TAINED!!!" He then lept at an inhuman speed breaking out his basement window. Blood went everywhere. No one has been able to contact him since, but a friend recently thought he spotted him on top of an iHop.
So unfortunately, that is the reason why the gorilla is so tanky. We needed to keep his performance in the game.
Not bad, but the use of the theme is a bit of an excuse imo. The grow power could have just been the health bar of the game would have stayed mostly the same. However, I mostly enjoyed the game and the art is nice!
Fun game, feels like it has some bugs but you have mentioned it in the notes he eventually comes back down after a minute, nice take on scaling up
The sprite and style are very cute, I love the squirrel so much!
Nice, I had a lot of fun playing this entry. The mechanics are simple enough to get your hands on without needing instructions or tuto, the difficulty increases steadily for each fight, and the sound design/music are on point.
I would have loved to "need" to use the floor slam though, instead of it just being a feature.
Nice game, I had a lot of fun with it, even though I never got past level 2. I like the artstyle, and it felt novel since I never really played any of this type of game from the jam.
i really liked it ! loved the art
lots of nice systems and work were put into this, good job. A block mechanic would be a nice addition
.
Yeah, mega cool that you made a fighting game. Unfortunately it's very time-consuming to reach G-Mode, but after that it's fun to beat up your opponent. In the third fight, the opponent was stuck in the air on the right. I could reach him by spamming spacebar and punching and sometimes my character jumped and performed a punch in the air. The icons above were unfortunately a break in style and there were only 3 fights, but so far good work!
Great job! Fun fighting game with the finisher mechanic. I tried jump slamming the bat(?) a couple times but it wasn't registering damage.
The hitbox is a bit too small at the moment. If you grow big it'll hit. Fun to use as a finisher. Thanks for playing!
very underrated game. a lot of thought was put into this. Satisfying combat and outstanding art. Good job!
This game looks great, cute characters and its fun to play!
I love the style of the game! The main character give Sprigatito vibes.
Actually pretty fun, but really hard!! I love it! its a great game, congrats!
