lovely idea, cute puzzle game! I liked the mini game between levels - although some mana crystals are out of the viewport? perhaps a way to collect more would be to be able to move the camera around or something :)

I had an issue in one of the levels (one before last, I didn't get the name, which I guess doesn't help you if they are randomly selected!) where a yellow building wouldn't move into a gap even though it had space. I ended up running out of mana because each click counted as a movement but the building wasn't moving :(

Found it a bit buggy in fullscreen mode ? Weird. But I figured that out and afterwards had alot of fun! I think that the mana mechanic seemed a bit burdensome: I think making it just a "You may do this many things in this level" would be better, rather than it carrying through.

Love it! Great puzzlegame, mana collection and resizing with rmb open popupmenu of browser...

nice !!! for me personally, would work better as a puzzle game where you have a set number of mana, ie the minimum possible mana u need to complete the level, and then also have an undo button, and you must figure out the most optimal way to complete the level. but really fun concept!!

It would be even more fun if players could change the view 360 degrees! I really love the gemstone collecting scene.

Interesting concept, I liked the little minigame thing between levels. It was a little hard to tell which buildings were which based on the map.

Very fun game, but it's also very buggy.

Thanks! And yes it is. It’s a jam game and some bugs sadly couldn’t be fixed in time

Really cool, it felt like the art and production where really well done! Super fun:) Nice job!

Thanks =D

The game feels very nicely polished which is impressive for a gamejam. Everything from the visual to SFX to gameplay vibes came together very nicely! I got my controls mixed up a couple times, but that's not a huge deal.

Personal preference wise, I found the gameplay loop to be an interesting concept, but not quite for me. The best way I'd describe it is the context switching didn't feel very cohesive to me. I'd be getting into clearing a level, then I gotta wait for this wagon to fully go down and play Pokemon Snap for a while with mana collection... The two aspects felt distinct and fun in their own ways, but I personally would've preferred getting the time to invest myself in one.

Developer

Thanks! =D I get that, I feared it might be a problem, but well once you are committed to an idea in a game jam haha! Regardless for the future, maybe it would be more fun if the player has control at which point they play the cart and when they play the town puzzle? That way it might feel less disruptive and give control to the player.

Fun game! Interesting take on the "work out the order to get things out of the way" type game. Sound effects were on point and the addition of the traveling mini game to get gems before the level was a nice little touch. Awesome work!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! =D

took me a long time to figure out, but that's probably mostly my fault (great tutorial). loved the sound effects and visuals!

Developer

Thanks! Was quite happy with the tutorial as well, though I guess we should add more indicators to read up on stuff haha!

Glad to hear!

Cool idea and nice execution, i really like the artstyle

very interesting idea! the two parts also really help to tie things together, however, i'd probably look into expanding the wagon bit, since you can get away with just mashing on the edges of the screen to pickup everything

All in all; great job!

Developer

Thanks! Good point, the “wizard vision” with the outlines can probably get a bit boring, we might look into some more fun ideas!

Cool idea, good execution, nice job! The only thing that got really annoying was the error handling. Sometimes moving buildings didn't quite work, even though it probably should have, and oftentimes that still cost mana, I think? Similarly, it wasn't always quite clear whether something could still scale up, because you need to have it in a precise spot to do so (with enough space). But overall, pretty good!

Thanks =D Yes, this has been in the bug tracker for about 2 days, but I prioritised finishing the game and fixing game breaking bugs. Will look into improving that experience after the jam though!

Love the theming on top of a simple gameplay concept - with the wagon, I was wondering if I was gearing up for a Skyrim intro joke.   Art style looks great too, nicely done!

Developer

Haha, glad you liked it. But I feel like an execution scene like in Skyrim wouldn’t have fitted the style of the game XD

Cute little game oozing with inspiration and good ideas. Loved the idea to combine magic and architecture and the mini game in between levels to really reward players! Fun all around!

Developer

Happy to hear you enjoyed it =D

This looks so stunning! My only recommendation would be, please write somewhere on the screen waht each key does, i always mix up, make bigger and smaller and the roation direction, costs me way too much mana, and my name is mana i should have always enough of mana!

Developer

Thanks =D Was sadly scratched timewise, but was originally planned as a spellbook. Will add lookup options to the description ^^ Gotta keep your mana up after all!

Submitted

really creative idea! took me some time to understand I could scale D: (I should read tutorials next time)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! We put some effort in the tutorial this time, but I guess we better add a hint to the page too about the controls haha!
