Really cute and funny visuals, writing and audio. Interactions felt quite nice. I'm not fully sure about some of the mini games goals. I get the first one is a clicker, the second I have no idea and the third I solved once intuitively going for a balanced scale but I didn't know which weights to reach in general. It would also be nice to know how much graters are needed to "eat" the cheese. I think it's a great game, just needs a little more explanation (or I overlooked things)!

Thanks! Yeah, I've made some updates and I plan on publishing them tonight which should hopefully clear things up for the most part. For the 2nd minigame, you have to play the notes in a scale because "built to scale," which a lot of people had trouble figuring out so don't worry, it wasn't just you haha. Again, thanks for playing!

Ohh, that's a very clever idea and yet another take on the theme which you end up having plenty of in the game then actually! Glad I'm not the only one who didn't get it though. I'm sure it's easy for you to do some type of onboarding for it though! Thanksch for the reply.

This game had some really cute graphics and I liked the way the cheese was just a giant ball of rage! I had some trouble figuring out what the point was at first before realizing that each grater and slicer I got made the cheese get smaller faster. It also took me a moment to understand what I was supposed to be doing for the second two minigames, especially the one with the musical scales. I....also can't help but feel like the fish theme was kind of shoehorned in for the sake of the jam's theme, as was the reference to the cheese actually being a black hole at the end, but the minigames were fun once I got them and the art and writing were very charming.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah all the gameplay things have been updated, so if you want, come back after the jam to see the post-jam version. We had an idea about all the fish we wanted to implement but ran out of time. As for the black hole… swiss cheese has holes so uh, black hole. And tbh the whole game is like a silly gag anyway haha

This is super cool. It's interesting to see a game jam game with multiple minigames. My favorite was the clicker one because I absolutely love idle games. It was really cool to see something like this in a jam.

The music at the beginning also reminded me of the music in the intro cinematics in Mario. I love that!

Overall, this is a unique idea that I wish to see more of. Awesome entry, good job!

The visuals are incredible and its fun to do diferent minigames, feels like youi guys were “we dont know what to make, so we make it all” which is brave of you >.<

Lots of scales here! Not sure what the music one is about. The weighing scale one is pretty fun.

Developer

Its for playing the notes in a musical scale haha. Yeah I definitely need to make that more clear since apparently lots of people are confused about it

Submitted

I... don't even know that's a term xD New thing for me i guess.

Developer

Sorry, basically you just play the notes in ascending order which, in music, is usually called a scale

Fantastic arrangement of games there, I think its the right way to allow for a lot of content in such a short amount of time!

Submitted(+1)

Damn you decided to have several interpretations of the theme, impressive. Also enjoyed how you made the musical scale mini-game optional!

Submitted(+1)

This is how you can feed 5k people

Submitted(+1)

Sorry.... I ate the cheese.... and the black hole...

Submitted(+1)

The black hole called me muenster :(

Jokes aside, it was a pretty solid game! I really liked it and it felt very polished, good job!

great submission! creative AND fun, a difficult combo to beat :D

Nothing compares to the scale of a black hole! I wish there was some indication of what to do for each mini game, the 1st and 3rd were pretty straight forward but I couldn't figure out the music one, I'm assuming it was something to do with playing a correct music scale but maybe I was doing something wrong. Luckily I still managed to complete the game without finishing that one! I got a good laugh out of the intro too. Definitely a unique submission haha but thoroughly enjoyed! Nice work

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, gotta play the fish notes in a musical scale. I’m really glad you could still finish the game because the intention was if someone didn’t like one of the mini games or couldn’t figure it out, they could still play the other ones to get more graters and slicers.

Mmmm, a very delicious game! Makes me hungry for cheese; thankfully, I'm eating pizza soon :P

I like all the minigames, and they're all presented in a quirky style! I do wish some of them had more instructions (especially the music one) and it was more clear how the graders assisted you, but still fun regardless! Overall, a good time, short and sweet with lots of personality.

Developer(+1)

Haha thanks! Those were definitely things I wanted to get to but didn’t have much time left. Glad you still enjoyed it!

Great interpretation of the theme hahaha! I don't know why but the pixel art of the fishes is really hitting that ds era nostalgia spot, great job! I loved it!

Developer

thx bro, it's prob all the dots i used 4 texture that make it look grainy + the eyes like 🔘 (inverted) fr

Can't open the game :(

CHEESE

Submitted(+1)

I love the style and the fish scale minigame! I wish there was an indicator that I collected all the peelers and graters but after a few extra rounds on the fish scales I realized the numbers weren't going up. Great game, and I would love to see what the second mini game was going to be!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! I definitely wanted to put some indicator that you collected everything, but wasn't sure what to use to indicate that. Only thing I could think of was changing the tab sprite after you leave the minigame which isn't that effective haha. Thanks for playing! I have to ask though, what 2nd mini game are you referring to ? Do you know more about the cheese than myself??

Developer

? 🪤🪤🪤

I am refering to the singing fish thing. Not really sure what I was supposed to do there except jam out to some fish haha

Developer(+1)

Ohh they're built to scale! You should get graters if you play them in ascending order like a musical scale

I guess I totally missed that, my bad!

When you have too many good ideas for the theme...just make all of them I guess? Great entry and funny too. 5/5

Developer
