Nice game! The graphics are great and it overall runs very smoothly.
Very good game! Eye-pleasing artstyle, cozy vibe and nice SFX ♥ I like that we have a goal beyond just building the factory. Funny that now a rat is attacking cats. I'm also impressed that you managed to make such a complex game in such a short time, although I think it's a bit too long for a game jam. Overall, the game is very enjoyable, I had a good time playing. Well done! ♥
Nice little factory building game, liked the drawings of the characters at the start
Cool idea with the scaling up, it does get a bit repetative pretty quick though
I mean, it sure is impressive, but I don’t have time to spend playing it :/ I crafted the microprocessor and then I needed ceramic, that I deleted earlier since I have no need for it, and I had like only one exit left on my stone level and none on my basement level, I didn’t want to have to split something somewhere and refactor everything to be able to continue and have to do it again D= I really wanted to finish the tutorial/quest thingy first but I really couldn’t, sorry :/
Thank you for the review! We were targeting ~1 hour playtime, which we deemed ideal. I get why you didn't wanna refactor everything, we implemented the move and copy functions to help with that a bit, but factories can still get quite messy and spaghetti-like. Happened to me quite a few times, heh, but I did manage to untangle everything in the end and I'm sure you'd be able to as well!
I would suggest for future jams that if you want more ratings and ratings based on your whole game, that you target a playtime of max 4-5 minutes wherein you show off your entire concept and mechanics. Since thats the time most jam reviewers will play. If you find the concept really works out you can always try to make a full game of it that has a bigger time scale
You absolute madmen created cat-Factorio within a timeframe of 1 jam. Sick! And it has a great spin on the scale and stuff. Congratulations, it's very fun :)
Thank you! At one point we thought it was a bit too similar to Factorio, but we're glad that the scaling twist worked out!
Wow. That's really cool mechanic. Well executed.
Thank you! The scaling mechanic was at times a lot of pain and bad code, but we're glad it worked out in the end!
I appreciated the tutorial and hand holding. Engaging game, I liked it!
Thank you! I'd be totally lost without the quests xdd.
OMG, thank you 🥹🥹. Glad you like it!
The tutorial is so long yet so helpfull!
Little tasks that guide by the hand are nice but you know making 1/2/3/10 is the same proces so 10 is a little too much ;)
Great theme implementation!
Thank you so much! The requirement to make 10 items is only with raw resource quests, but yeah, I get your point. We'll make sure to balance the numbers in the future!
I really liked the idea and the game was really creative and impressive. Having no previous experience with this type of game, it was something pleasant and the tutorial was pretty informative. It was complex enough to keep you going and playing more. I had some question about how to use specific parts, for example the splitter, but I saw the screenshots and my question was answered. Really well-made game and it fits the theme. I was amazed that this was made in such little time.
This is so heartwarming, thank you! The splitter was one of the last machines to have been implemented so it might have received a bit less love quest-wise. I'm glad the screenshots helped!
A pretty good automation game, and quite impressive for a 4 day jam.
I got up to the second last upgrade I think (where I was making memory), and then things got so full that I couldn't really fit in the things I needed again. I think this is where the lack of quality of life features like the tunnels/bridges for belts, become very apparent. Another example is not having corners for belts (or dedicated entry and exit points on machines), which could have avoided belts accidentally become an exit point for machines they were on top of. The lack of space was also a bit difficult to deal with (in a way that feels beyond the goals of an automation game). I could have made another room, but there wasn't room for it in the room above, etc.
Speaking of, I really liked the scaling mechanic, with the rooms being small parts of the rooms above them. It feels like a really good build on top of an automation game.
I did accidentally delete one of the exit ports on one of the levels, which turned into a bit of a problem later (and is presumably not supposed to be able to happen). Other than that, that was fun!
Thank you for your detailed review. We were planning to add belt tunnels and belt corners but we had to cut them due to time constraints. As for the exporters, thanks for letting us know as it is not intended for you to delete those.
Really impressive game! I love the style and mechanics! Well done!
Thank you! We're glad you like it!
reminds me a bit of stardew valley and plateup's management gameloop and as a perfectionist and being iffy about management games this was addicting af
Thanks! We're glad to have offered you a sneak peak into how addicting management games can be!
Incredible game, it's realy impressive that it was made only in 96 hours!
Thank you! When not sleeping, we made sure to make every hour count, hehe.
:D
Wow, super impressive mechanics for a game jam, and the tutorial is really well-done. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! We're glad you like the tutorial/quests (I myself would be totally lost without them lol)
Really great factory game the building feels really clean as it as well. Very large scale to complete in a such short time as my group also tried to complete a factory game. The art looks really clean and the sfx are too. Some music would be nice. Great work!
Thank you! It looks like there are some issues with the music and sfx looping in the browser version. We're already looking into it.
Ahh, I'm always so impressed at these stardew valley-ish expansion games!! It seems like such a large scale (haha get it) project to be made in only 4 days! I will say, as a trackpad user, the left-right clicking system was kind of painful. However, it didn't take away from the solid gameplay. Great job team :)
Looking back, I'm quite amazed we were able to finish it in time as well. We kinda forgot about the trackpad completely >.< We'll look into how to make the controls more user-friendly and compatible with input methods other than mouse and keyboard. Thank you for the review!
Wow, really cool factory game idea and fits the team really well. It reminds me of an old Minecraft mod where you could create tiny redstone circuits. Only the graphics could be better, but it's a game jam, so what can you do. But i really enjoyed it. (It would mean a lot if you would rate my game if you have the time)
Oh, I had no idea a mod like that even existed, I might looks that up. We were going for pixel-art style and IMO our graphics team did an amazing job. Thank you for the review tho!
Feel like I could play it forever
That's so nice of you to say, thank you!
