I loved this entry! The idea is simple and super creative. It would be nice to have some visual feedback as to where you're slicing the dice, like a dotted line for example. Great job!
Thanks - glad you liked it!
And yeah- that’s a great idea :)
This is amazing, I got the high score! Even if the game does not at all involve luck, it is about timing and precision! My only issue is with the slicing. Sometimes I accidentally cut the dice where and when I don't want to. But again, great game!
Thanks - and congratulations again!
Yeah- I know what you mean about slice vs. cut; I switched from having different buttons to just having one, and I think that was a bit of a mistake.
Here are your 5/5 starts
I love it. Simple, polished, smooth, and easy to pick up and play
Great in every way
Thanks :D
The idea is great ( I mean, it is really great) and completely unique but I would like to have more time to think about the move ( it is too fast for me and I am not able to keep up with the pace :(
Such a nice job!
Thanks - glad you liked the idea :)
I’m feeling that I should have made it more clear that holding the space bar slows things down…
What an ingenious game and wonderfully executed idea. Everything worked for me: the simple colours, the relaxing music, the really interesting (and fast decision) gameplay. Like, I try to give feedback on everything I play, but I'm at a loss for what to say. It is just a perfect version of what it is: a lovely, inventive jam game. Incredible work!
Thanks so much :D
Wait... Does this game have an actual back-end with storage on server side? I saw a high-score at the start and I didn't play it yet.
Or maybe it's just a score from some kind of testing that you didn't clean up before upload?
The game itself is cool, but it's really hard to manage at first few mins. Must practise for a while to actually play it. But the concetp is nice. Maybe some kind of "slowmotion" would be a great addition to the gameplay. When the player starting to hold LMB, the time could slow down for the next 2 or 3 seconds, so player could have time to think how to cut dice + timer for slow-motion, so the player could see how many time he have left.
Anyway, a good one! I actually enjoyed it for a while after few mins of practise ^^
Yup- that’s the highest score anyone playing the game has got - trying to beat it is the ultimate goal :D I had the highscore for about three hours after releasing before someone beat me! If you can get higher, it’ll be yours :D
When you say slow-motion, do you mean in addition to the slow motion you get when you hold down the space-bar?
Thanks for the feedback :)
Oh god, you actually have slowmotion! Didn't realize it, sorry +)
I played the game without it all this time :P
I prefer to have it when you hold LMB, but space button is fine too)) Very nice, now it's a great game :D
No problem. Frankly I’m just impressed you managed to play it at all without a slow down. Kudos!
And the actual back-end... ! Wow... just wow
This game has a great atmosphere, and gameplay is super creative, I really liked the premisse.
BUT its too damn impossible. Maybe add levels of dificulty? With slow mo dices floating for easy levels.EDIT: The space bar feature is insanely good, this game is amazing, there is no BUT anymore!
Congrats!
Thanks :)
Even more slow than the space-bar being down? I did want a difficulty curve; at the moment it’s just random; 48 hours is never long enough!
YOU CAN PRESS SPACE BAR???? GOD DAMIT
Very nice game, the presentation is nice and the gameplay really cool :)
Thanks - glad you had fun :)
Nice concept, definitely tricky.
Thanks :)
Satisfying cutting mechanics. Very clever gameplay. I'll be playing this one again!
Thanks :D
Great concept like fruit ninja but you have to actually be precise with your cuts
Thanks - glad you liked!
This was super interesting. Slowing down time and slicing is satisfying. I think the optimal strategy is to wait until there's a value with a lot of points, since there's no penalty for letting dice go by and doing nothing. I think the timer/end condition needs a redesign, and then this game would be truly great!
Thanks :)
Yeah- I agree; I didn’t notice that strategy until after the submission.
This was a fun fruit ninja like game! It felt polished as slowing and cutting felt good and smooth. There was one issue where my high score was very high when I just started the game. Other than that I had lots of fun!
Thanks :)
Actually- that’s the highest score across everyone who’s played it!
Really cool fruit ninja like concept! sometimes it wouldn't register when I got the right numbers though. But it was still really fun, good job!
Thanks :)
The numbers are a bit confusing - I didn’t really explain it well in the ‘tutorial’ - but you need to match left to right exactly.
Amazing use of theme. Fruit ninja with a strategic twist. Slow down and slicing works super well. Neat that you had time to hook up an online score. Great job.
Thanks - glad you liked it!
Very cool concept. I first thought it would be easy like fruit ninja but it was hard. Maybe I'm just bad at numbers 😂
Thanks :D
I really like this concept, but I wish there was a BIT more time to actually slice the dice. Maybe it's because I'm not a Fruit Ninja wizard, but switching the die and then slicing them in the air felt a bit too cumbersome without the slow-down time and just the mouse. Maybe there would be a way to play this with keyboard as well? Like 1 and 2 switch the respective die and you slice ONLY with the mouse. That way the decisions could be split. Anyways, I thought this was really creative and a really fun way to handle the theme! Good stuff :)
Thanks - glad you had fun with it.
The split keyboard/mouse controls is a good idea. Initially I had RMB as dice switching; but that was a nightmare on trackpads so I switched.
I really loved this game' idea. It was very fun. Good job!
by the way could you play and rate my game?
Thanks - glad you had fun.
Consider it done.
A very creative take on the theme! It's a very simple premise but works well, and the simple presentation is effective. The online leader board is another awesome touch, it would have been awesome to have a larger arcade style one but it's understandable given the time limit.
Unfortunately despite playing a fair while I can't really say I enjoyed it all that much. From the tutorial graphics I assumed there would be greater visual feedback on cutting, and the shards of dice felt like they didn't register a lot of the time.
The dice time being a time limit is also a neat idea, but I think it encourages a safe, boring playstyle. I didn't feel motivated to go for big scores because I knew I'd eat up a lot of my time getting close to them, and I would still likely come out the other side gaining zero points. In contrast, small scores are easily achievable with little to no dice time used up at all. The best way to get points is to just sit and wait and ignore the fun parts of the game, which is a massive shame, and fatal to the overall enjoyment.
Overall, it's a very solid game with just a few things holding it back from a top score, so please take my comment with a grain of salt! The fact that optimising the fun out of the game is the only major problem just goes to show the depth of the mechanics. I'd love to return to this with a few tweaks post jam, it has the potential to be an amazing game that would fit perfectly on moblie :) good work!
Thanks - I’m glad you liked it, and thanks for the detailed feedback :)
Super interesting that it motivated you to going for lots of small scores. I actually realised, playing after the jam-lock, that the best strategy would be to ignore all the small numbers and only engage if it’s 6 figures; as there’s no penalty for a missed round and 6 figure scores are the only thing that can get you a high-score; which is also less fun, really :P
So yeah, needs some balancing in both directions :D
Amazing game! Fun concept and mechanics... Not much feedback to give! Excellent work!
Thanks :D
