The knockback when you attack is very satisfying! Nice job

Great experience

Would like to play the post-jam version!

Seems like the game wasn't quite finished, but it seemed like the beginning of a cool game, I really liked the Graphics and the design, I also really liked the voice of the protagonist lol. Overall a really nice game, good job!

Aw man this was shaping up to be pretty cool! But then was wondering where everyone was at?? Read the comments below though and saw no enemies. Oh well guess that means our mage can have a relaxing day!

Really cool atmosphere though! I enjoyed travelling around listening to the music. And then nice touch when you find the crystal and it changes to "Greyscale". And even though didn't get to really use it, I liked that the magic attack felt very weighty like it could beat someone up in a couple hits. Maybe that's why there were no enemies... they were afraid of your attack!

Anyways good work on this! Pretty cool idea and setting and I'm sure the monsters would have been cool too!

I ran all the way, but did found any enemies :(

I like the art! Very cute

Developer

Ya, sorry we didnt have time to implement enemies during the jam and have been continuing to work on this game. Stay tuned as there will be a finished and polished version in the near future!

Well the graphics, sound and screenshake when shooting are nice !

Too bad you didn't have time to finish it, I would have loved to see what you had in mind for this game.

Developer

Thanks! We put a lot of effort into the idea and concepts... so much that we actually have enough for a decently large game that should be a lot of fun. Please stay tuned as we have continued to work on it and plan on releasing a full polished version of the gameπŸ™‚

The music gives the right rhythm of the game. Nice graphic overall!

When I attack in a jump, I seems like playing Hollow Knight! I mean it’s comfortable! The character is very cute! Maybe the collider can be a little bigger when jumping to a platform.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, those are very kind words! and the collider getting larger while jumping is a very interesting idea that I will 100% be trying out! πŸ˜„

Are there enemies in this game? Or Dice? I ran around for awhile but got frustrated after I couldn't see if there was another platform ahead of me to jump onto or not, and then fell promptly to the ground.

Developer

As of right now, there are no enemies in the game as we did not have enough time to complete the game. We also tried to avoid using dice directly while still following the theme and not having an obvious choice. As for the platforms not being able to be seen, that is a common complaint and something that was recognized during development, but yet sadly had not enough time to fully tweak it (at one point it was actually even worse πŸ˜…)

Got it. Yeah, with Game Jam games it's hard to tell sometimes if I was just missing something or if it didn't make it in. I admit I'm also pretty disappointed about how many bugs and lack of polish made it into our final build as a consequence of having to rush like crazy to make the ddeadline with just basics in place. So I totally sympathize. I hope you guys still had fun, learnt something, and can find pride in what you made together in such a short period of time. Best wishes :)

5/5/5 Stars for "YAH!", loved the basis of this game and really can't wait to yah some baddies while jamming to the background tune.

this game had a lot of potential i think, with the music, design, and concept, but unfortunately i think it was hit hard by the time limitations.

i don't know if this was intentional or if i went the wrong way, but there was quite a bit of running left, and i feel that the camera was aimed a bit too far to the right in those sections. I got lost and eventually gave up.

in my opinion the reasons given for the game matching the theme aren't that great, but that doesn't bother me too much.

spamming the shoot button really fast was fun though LOL. overall it's a cute little experience that i would want to see expanded on in a more thought out game with less strict time limitations.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for this properly critical comment!

Yes, we didn't really care about perfectly matching the theme, and if anything we tried to stay away from the theme while trying to also still match it to allow for us to make a game that was not exactly the same as the other 6000 dice games. πŸ™ƒ

Also, we did know about the issues with the camera placement and spent a total of 30 mins trying to fix it... but then realized that time might be better served doing things like idk "having any level at all to use the character with lol"

but in the end, the game was plagued with time restraints and there is still a lot of art, concepts, and music that was not shared in this little demo that we will be following up on and finishing in the near future (hopefully before the gmtk discord gets closed down again as to allow for a second wave of feedback/comments)

I liked the character art, shame you wasn't able to finish the game in time.

Is there any enemies in the game? I found the portal, but nothing else.

Also, how does this fit the theme in any way?

Developer

Thank you for the comment! We do have art and animations for enemies and boss fights with voices lines and everything recorded all during the 48 hours of the jam, but did not have the time to implement them.  As for the theme we interpreted it as black/white with random enemy damage, but alas did not have enough time to implement this. We will be finishing this game so stay tuned πŸ˜„

I couldn't find the game... or what it had to do with rolling dice...

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

We didnt have time to fully complete the game but have a lot of concepts, art and music left and do and plan on fully finishing it!

As for the theme I couldnt say it any better than what it says on the main page for the game jam. "That theme might immediately spark ideas of randomness and probability, or board games and casinos, but as always - you can interpret this theme however you like" meaning we interpreted it as a game about black/white and random damage of enemies and that is perfectly fine.

We are very proud of what we had made πŸ˜„

I don't know what is going on. There is just a violet floor, you can run on it and shoot. No enemies, no black and white esthetic. Did you upload the right game?

"Did you upload the right game?" πŸ€“πŸ€“

Developer(+2)

Hello, yes this is the correct game! basically, we went with a very vibrant theme for the normal overworld with an all "Greyscale" theme for when you are are inside the portals and fighting. You will need to find the portal and enter it to see the black and white aesthetics.

We ended up not having enough time to work on level design and a few other features we wanted. we have a lot of concept art and features laid out and fully planned with a few other potential concepts on the cutting board that are going to make this game 10 fold better. Stay tuned for future updates as we do plan on fully finishing this! :)
