How does your game fit the theme?
A rolling dice decided which effects you get. You can either let it roll to get a new effect or destroy it to keep your current one. The final boss is also very dicey.

I beat the boss! That was a lot of fun. The character you play as is adorable, and all music tracks are a jam to listen to. After remembering I had access to the rick click attack, the enemies were manageable while still being challenging, and none felt unfair to beat, though I did find myself staying as far away as possible from the green bug enemies and killing them from afar, as I could not seem to dodge their projectiles. The devlog was an awesome look into how this game came to be, and I really appreciated the voiced introduction. I loved all the small jokes (I felt called out by the "it's not a bug: it's a feature" one!) and the bossfight was challenging enough that it took me a couple of tries to beat. I'd have loved to see a death animation for it, but given the time constraint of the jam it understandably just despawns.
I didn't have any mechanical problems with the game, save the issue mentioned in other comments where the reverse controls apply while the die is rolling, but I just went behind a wall for the duration of the die roll and made it through fine. I did have trouble running the game on Linux, but the WebGL build worked without issues.
Overall, amazing entry, and congrats to all of you for submitting such a fun game! I'm looking forward to playing the post-jam timed mode SaadTheGlad mentioned to me 👀
Thank you very much for your quite indepth review of the game haha! First off I actually did want to make a boss death animation but given the simple fact that it wasn't actually finished by the time we had to submit the game, it kind of lost priority at that point but I'll definitely add it post-jam along with the timed mode! And yes for the inversed controls issue it's unintentional and will get fixed soon. Thanks again for your comment :D!
The static shooting ennemies have aimbot. And for some reason, when the randomnisation starts, all of the events are activated (saw this from the inverted movement and the frame of three projectiles).
Yes, that was an unintended side effect of the effect system we rushed out. The static shooting enemies are also understandably the hardest and we are working to fix both of those issues post-jam :D
Huge respect for making the voiceover really enhance the playing experience! Great music selection, cool sprite designs, but you know what's even cooler was the little character death animation, took away some of the pain in failing the level :D Good work!
Thanks so much! I'm glad you appreciate the little things that went into the game haha
I'm not very familiar with bullet hell, but I can say that with the voiceover at the beginning and the energetic spooky music it has a great atmosphere. Other than that I'll say that it was confusing when during the roll sometimes the controls would invert then uninvert when the roll landed on something other than invert controls. Also I had to restart the webpage once because when I first opened it I wasn't able to move.
We thought that the player would assume that each new effect overrided the previous one, so if you got Higher Move Speed while on Inverted Controls it would cancel that previous one, but maybe that could've been explained in a tutorial. As for the WebGL, those builds are known to be very janky this is why I recommended you download for a better experience :)
The amount of effort and skill on display here is absolutely incredible! Loved the artwork, especially with the enemy designs, and the v/o at the start was the perfect way to convey the tone you were going for (glad it was skippable on replays too, that's an easily missable feature that helps a ton).
Gameplay itself was super fun and inventive too, couching a bullet-hell type shooter in the D&D aesthetic is a cool concept that really benefitted from the randomized effect mechanic throwing wrenches or giving boosts to the player! Awesome work, especially given the time restraints, and I really look forward to seeing how y'all continue to develop it after the jam if you choose to do so! :)
Thank you very much for playing the game and commenting . Our current plans are to fix the game's current issues and add a lot of new content.
Thank you very much for your comment! We really appreciate it and we will definitely keep working on this game post-jam to fully realize the idea that we had for it :D
Voice Over 10/10 <3
Thank you very much :D <3
Insane narration, smooth gameplay and great sounds. A very polished game for a 2-day jam :) Very good job!!
Thank you so much!! I'm really happy you enjoyed it!
Oh this is amazing, the narration at the start really sets the mood for the following action. Props for that and also for the music !
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the narration and the music :D
Loved the starting narration and the gameplay and visuals were charming. Would have liked the dice mechanic to have been implemented more smoothly because I found the implementation fun, but 48 hrs, I get it.
Thank you very much :D I'm glad you enjoyed the game. I understand your comment bout the dice, funnily enough that feature wasn't fully implemented until the last few hours so we didn't have much time to polish it
Music is awesome. Nice arena gameplay, but the enemies are sort of bullet sponges and some projectiles are too fast to react. Would have liked some sort of score!
Thank you. Since the game has an end there is no score. We are trying to fix all bugs and make balance the game . After the jam there will definitely be some updates
The music's great and the gameplay's smooth, too hard for me though
Very cute. I would have loved if the enemies had less health but it was nice. I liked that you can get bad effects from the dice and makes it harder.
Thanks for the feedback!
Pretty good, though getting stuck on walls is suboptimal, maybe make them more "slidable" next time :)
Yep, didn't find that bug until it's too late haha, will fix it asap.
Great job
This game has a nice art style!
Thank you!
Nicely done. The die randomizing the gameplay is very well implemented. Not to mention all the other sprites. Honestly, hope you get in the top 100.
PS: loved the intro
Thank you very much! That means a lot to us haha, and I'm glad you loved the intro :D
Came for the D&D, stayed for the dice
Hahah, that's great!
The art was great, and cool narration too. Nice!
Thank you very much :D
Fun game! I enjoyed the chaos of trying to survive in the dungeon with the randomness. I really liked the enemy design, specifically the 1-eyed dice. Overall fun game!
Thanks a lot! I greatly appreciate that :D
Great idea, I liked how the one eyed dice mechanic worked
Thank you!
